People found Spencer's mother's Instagram and shared pictures from it like assholes. It led to several Instagrams I knew of from Smosh family members locking down.

I'm glad most—if not all—of the smosh casts are fine with rpf because there's fun in their way of celebrating fan service while u can highly respect their private lives outside rpf.

idk that's just me growing to accept shipping real people for funsies even outside their romantic partners (when i used to hate doing that ages ago, or i'd easily drop the ship when i found out neither werent dating eo)

but yea i highly respect those who shy away from it. like, as long as you don't shit on who does, remember smosh is ok with it for as long as no privacy should be in danger again.

Can I ask you guys to be real for a minute?

Rpf is considered okay, even encouraged by smosh. But does that truly mean that it is okay? Like especially when those we ship already have partner, can we imagine them being okay with their partners being shipping like that. People reading into every interaction their partners have their co workers.

And let's say you truly can not stop. Is it not immoral to put it on platforms where their partners can see it.

Let's also be real: why do you think they wouldn't speak up if their partners were uncomfortable with it and ask people to stop?

The consistent thought process from people that these people cannot and will not speak up for themselves to say no the same way they've said yes does not make any sense to me.

Why have none of you considered that their partners also just acknowledge it's silly fiction that doesn't matter in the long run?

piggybacking the anon talking about URL: I feel like you're probably right, it might get more views if it were on the main or pit channels, which is a shame because she's a great host and the guests so far have been fun. I was kind of nervous that since it's a lot of the same people we've been seeing for years, it would feel like old news. I was pleasantly proven wrong lol I think Tommy's is my favorite so far, I forgot how musically inclined he is

i have never in my life been that big into shipping and only don’t like that in the case it either makes someone uncomfortable or is illegal/inc*st but who GENUINELY cares that much about smosh shipping. we don’t know these people. all fanfiction is just reimagining who they are/may be. quite literally cares so much they are harassing people about their preferences. sometimes i really hate fandom culture

p.s: i hate the damien fatshaming. i just hope he’s happy with himself and is in a better place than he previously was. i’m on antidepressants and have gained weight so like… i fear it’s his body and health that he and the people closest to him should be worried about.

Could it be that most of the fans that watch main, pit or games just don't watch SmoshAlike.

I think a lot aren't subbed to or pay much attention to SmoshALike.

...........i love how both damien and angela have this sorta stereotypical view of each other that they play into or things they associate each other with (in the best way possible). angela sees damien as the nerdy one, the anime one, the heart-of-the-cards one. damien sees angela as the shakespeare one, the musical theatre one, the starkid one. /pos.

idk this isn't really a fully formed thought but perhaps someone will know what i mean :)

damien stan’s get a lot of shit for being overly defensive toward him. and it’s like, yeah, they are. but the people who complain about them are literally no better. ppl shade them especially on twitter but in the same breath they qrt everybody who mentions anything remotely negative about their favorite member. i don’t care if you’re an angela stan, ian stan, spencer, courtney, etc. ffs you are all the same level of parasocial. you all care a little too much about these people, coming from somebody who’s been watching for a decade. none of you have a right to complain about others until you look in the mirror

lukewarm take maybe, but the online presence of people like Court (I'm only singling them out because I see/hear about them doing live streams on one platform or another a lot, compared to some of the other cast who don't do it much or at all) is a privilege, and I'm the kind of person who won't hesitate to take privileges away when people don't act right. I like seeing them on my screens, but if they got so fed up with how people talk to or about them, and they just went full jenna marbles and we never saw them again. I would miss them, but I would laugh and pour one out, because yeah I get it lol

I'm surprised Court hasn't done it already. They've ended livestreams because of people's disrespect before and I'm proud of her for it.

i think the people who complain about "lack of diversity" in smosh need to take a look at what the channel used to be. for a LONG time, mari was the only female on regular casting and she didn't even join until 2011. even when more people joined the cast at smosh games, it was a bunch of cishet super pale dudes (even if several of them are mixed) and mari. our first "visible" POC was a black guy who didn't officially join until 2014. we have come a significant way in the ten years since the original "smosh squad" all joined in 2015, for real - and that was ten years into smosh. we didn't have any visible representation of queerness, and don't get me started on the amount of jokes or stereotypes or offhanded comments that haven't aged well. please give credit where credit is due. there is a lot that has changed. in comparison, we have a lot of POC and a lot of queerness. after all, "everyone at smosh is gay", as shayne said. it's not possible or reasonable to expect every culture ever to be represented everywhere in every aspect because it's barely possible to quantify every culture ever. yes, there's lots that can be done, and many ways to go forward, but i BEG y'all to look how far we've come, too.

There's also still always room for improvement but they are a diverse company. A lot of the diversity is just offscreen.

despite how annoying i’m going to sound, i’ve seen some similar sentiments. i miss the old smoshblr. the smoshblr of like 1-2 years ago. it was so much more carefree and fun. somewhere along the way it lost the spirit of smosh. now it just feels like a bunch of hate and discourse. so many of my favorite blogs have gone inactive and there’s so few silly posts anymore.

sorry to rant, i just miss it.

The flirting as far as I "see" is not the obvious kind, like the one Amanda does

It's the subtle kind. The looking at the other when everyone is laughing, the looking at the other for subconscious approval, the awareness of each other, being lost in a bubble with just each other, making each other laugh constantly, the playful fighting.

This kinda of flirting is more obvious to those who either have a best friend kinda of partners or they flirt in a playful subtle manner or dare I say, those who like books/stories with that subtle sidestory romance.

That said, I truly hope you all know that when I say flirting I mean the harmless kind. Like Spencer and Amanda or Courtney and Arasha
