I've been away for far too long. To sum up a long story: On SNES Classic release day I showed up to GameStop to a line of 16 people, all there for the Classic. When the clerk addressed the crowd it turned out they had all the reserve copies off to the side, leaving 13 for regular customers, which put me into a winning position. Didn't expect to get one at all, hell, I was only there to pick up FIFA 18 since Nintendo wouldn't let anyone do a midnight release because of the SNES Classic.

God bless Amazon! Got both THPS 2 and Crazy Taxi for under 30 bucks. I can't even begin to tell you how many sleepless nights I spent playing THPS 2 trying to complete every single gap list

Haven't dont much hunting for a few weeks now. While searching for my snes things I unearthed my old Dreamcast. Still works like the day I bought it! Amongst the remaining games was RE 3, Super Puzzle Fighter, MK Gold and Unreal Tournament. I'm currently working my way thru RE 3 while I wait for a copy of THPS 2 to arrive in the mail.

Finally found my original SNES, sans cables. Going to trek to the flea market this weekend to find an adaptor and AV cables. Fingers crossed time has not ruined this magnificent beast. It wasn't exactly stored in the best conditions but it could be a lot worse than dust and grime.

August 22, 2017: A day that will forever live in infamy. Nintendo was on the cusp of a 16-bit renaissance the likes of which no game company has attempted since the 90s. The product鈥檚 name: The SNES Classic. Unfortunately for the majority of gamers looking to reclaim a piece of their childhood, that renaissance will never happen because Nintendo doesn鈥檛 believe in properly allocating reservations. Odds are, the majority who secured a reserved system will sell them at a higher price because that鈥檚 the ignorant world we live in. Some will pay these higher prices just for the chance to play Earthbound, Mario RPG and A Link to the Past one more time
I am not one of these people.
I have been longing for the golden age of 16-bit gaming for awhile now, Nintendo鈥檚 newest money grab only stoked the fires to the point where I want to re-collect all the games I miss and missed out on growing up. Who needs a small emulator box when you can restore your very own original SNES system?
Hopefully you鈥檒l have fun joining me on this adventure.
