There’s been someone going around anonymously in peoples strawpages & fics on AO3 and terrorizing them with stuff like that to say. I don’t think you did any of the things anon said. They are lying. this also includes making him a “golden retriever” in the sense that his goals and thoughts revolve around other people; predominantly viktor/a white guy & overall infantilization of a dynamic character, usually because he’s brown.

btw the ulterior motives I see in artwork and fanfiction regarding jayce is utterly appalling.

in regards to turning jayce talis into either a brooding, violent man or a thoughtless, childish bimbo depending on what the author or artist wants depicted, specifically in sexual depictions.

this is all rooted in racism; especially the overall concepts of a brown man being "thoughtless" or less intelligent than his white counterpart in just a rue to dumbify him and sexualize him, rather than take him as he is. his looks downplay his intelligence, as does his skintone, apparently.

furthermore, making the only brown character in a dynamic the angry, brooding and the one to constantly initiate sexual intercourse is rooted in racist stereotypes; by inherently making him some sort of beast tamed by love, by once again, his white counterpart. (SPECIFICALLY regarding jayvik). there is so much more nuance and depth to this conversation, this is just surface level prodding.

I am BEGGING this fucking fandom to NOT reduce brown characters into caricatures based on whichever traits they prefer & pick to immortalize. jayce is a three-dimensional, intelligent and flawed character.
