our physical body was a canid species at some point early in this life, somehow switched from or otherwise prevented from becoming one. this could have been in utero or early in puphood, before our memories start. it explains why most (likely all, but i don't want to say with certainty) of us are canid, take on a canid form, or at minimum have some kin relationship with canids.

i wonder how much of the body was switched. others in our system have assumed that it was simply a brain transplant, and i guess that makes sense. there's definitely some things that were swapped over additionally, though, like things related to our senses or some of the causes of our disability. i wonder if there would be some way for us to know what's going on internally (endocrine, organs, blood) but i feel like there's probably a flag on our medical record or something to pretend everything is normal human in there.

i also wonder what species of canid we were before being transferred to this body. probably something easily accessible for scientific use, like a domestic dog or fox. maybe a wolf. hmm... it doesn't change who we are internally, so honestly it kind of matters less than it would if we weren't a system...? i don't know. i already miss my coyote body, i don't even have time to worry about missing my would've-been canid body that might not even feel like my body in the first place!

...is there a human-brained canid out there wondering why they can't go pay taxes and work a 9-5? i'll still switch back without hesitation
