I find it very ironic that the only time I get invested so much in a Minecraft arg is when it's a parody one

Tunnel vision
Based off the collinlock16 arg, just something I've been bouncing off of some moots.
Also huge thanks to the amazing @moronic-aleph for helping me write this!
“IT'S FUCKING YOU!”
Collin frantically began to type into the chat, hell, he even thought about chasing it down for a change.
But just as quickly as its messages popped up in chat, out of the blue, it was gone. Leaving Collin with nothing but the conversation they had before.
“I am not constrained to this world.”
It was a phrase collin heard before, a phrase that kept them up for years. A phrase they hated.
It all led back to their dear brother, their missing brother their…
...their dead brother.
Oh, they saw it. they saw everything. How couldn't they? It was all right there on his ghostown of a channel.
Collin sucked in a breath through their teeth, had they forgotten to breathe? They felt their face getting flushed, the ears and head hot as their blood boiled.
darkness crept around the edges of his vision as his mind started to cave in on itself.
His heart beat quickened and quickened AND QUICKENED until he felt like he was about to die of a heart attack right then and there.
His desperate attempts to steady his breathing were all for naught, as tunnel vision slowly ate him alive.
He had to battle the urge to give in entirely and send his fist straight through his screen.
God, by this logic, he should have already been in the middle of punching the damn laptop until it shattered into a thousand pieces.
...
..but he didn't. he couldn't.
so instead, he just sat there.
dumbfounded.
wondering where his god was.
----------
it…
it killed him.
stalked him like an animal, Ate Him Alive LUNGS-FIRST.... IT TORTURED HIM
AND IT-
His thought process was stopped short as his breath hitched
it…
….just tried to kill me.
...
..No. no. Clearly i'm just hallucinating things. clearly my brother just went missing!
There's no possible way that this thing could have killed him...
It's stuck in a 16 year old videogame for fuck's sake!
None of the entities i was messing with beforehand were able to hurt ME in real life
so NOTHING in there should be able to even threaten me
His mind raced, trying everything he could to make sense of the situation through the emotion.
His mind was a tornado of anger, pain, regret, everything he'd spent years trying to suppress. Tears stung at his eyes as he remembered the times thry had, and the times they could no longer have, ever again. But that wasn't even the part that stung the most.
It couldn't even bother to leave us a body to bury…
And just like that, right as his anger was about to be replaced with despair, like a spark in a room full of gas, it erupted in a roar of absolute anguish.
In the cacophony, his mind concocted all sorts of wicked and terrible thoughts. Darker parts of the mind only ever tapped into in times of great distress.
It wouldn't get away with this, no this couldn't stand.
Outside, the usually present trickle of rain had picked up into nearly a flash-flood, then a terrible thunderstorm.
Collin began to rant to himself, making all sorts of promises and threats. All of which he intended to make good on… but why…
“...Why am I tired?” Collin began to slur their words out as though drunken. Their Mind was as wide awake and alert as could be, but inexplicably he felt weak. Lethargic.
Their head spun, the world spun, everything spun. He felt sick, but his stomach settled eerily still. Their legs and arms felt like rubber, their shoulders sagged and he sank into his chair.
He tried to suck in a breath, but he couldn't pull in as much air, each breath got more and more shallow as his hands shook.
“Whats… what's going…” they wheezed out, staring at their shaky hands as they felt their blood run cold.
Cold… like a corpse.
And his fingers were just as blue as they felt.
Ah, so it hadn't left after all. Was that it, then? Was This what it did if you don't turn around? It couldn't end like this, not like this and for damn sure not until he got his hands on that thing!
He felt it all bubble over again as his vision blurred, he let out a painful groan. Not because he was in physical pain, but because he'd never get the closure he'd been seeking all those years ago.
He felt himself sink lower and lower, the last thing he felt was the undying fires of rage… And soon it encompassed him entirely.
He sank into darkness where it burned even hotter, but instead of shying away, Collin threw themselves into the fire. Because within the crackling, roaring inferno came sweet promises of retribution. Of justice. Of sweet, painful Vengenace.
And Collin wasn't about to let this opportunity slip through his grasp. Not when this was Gavin it was about.
Light began to fill his vision, now. He was in a world not like his own, yet one that was familiar nonetheless.
He looked down at himself, then around.
The thunder and lightning continued outside, for a moment, Collin was frightened… but then something in his arm burned, and he nearly screamed in both agony and anger
His vision a hue of red, he snarled uncharacteristically for himself and looked down at the source.
He saw small streaks going up his left hand, red and hot, just like the fire he'd thrown himself into.
It flared up again, and so did Collins’ anger. Now, it was all he could think about. About how unfair it all was, first his brother, and now he’s stuck here…
He was dead.
But it wasn't the end, not just yet. There was a score to settle and with how much time had passed, how it'd been bubbling below the surface of his nonchalant-ness, there was extra interest to collect.
More pain in his hands, more rage in his mind and now the thunderstorm Had gotten so intense that forests were coming down in his world.
Now, all he could think about was inflicting pain. With the concept came clarity and even ecstacy.
More pain, more rage.
Everything flashed white.
Now pain was all he could think about, how much pain he was in, and how much they were going to inflict on it.
More pain.
More rage

Kevin had received a skype call from a user he'd never met before, someone named swe4tysp4getti.
Assuming it's another client, he picks up.
“Hey, is this bigkevin?” The slightly younger sounding voice asked.
“In the flesh!” he replied
“awesome! So I need your help, something weird happened?”
“Do tell, and it better not just be some “oHh HeRoBrInE sToLe My DiAmOnDs” bullshit.” Kevin groaned, remembering how many false-alarms he had to sift through on a daily basis.
Sp4getti cleared their throat after kevins’ tangent.
“I was playing minecraft like normal, I was in a snow biome when it started raining. Hard. Like really really hard.” Now this caught Kevin's attention, because something similar happened.
But like always, he had to be skeptical first.
“Did you check and see if you had any modpacks installed, like natural Disasters or something?” He asked.
“Yeah, I tabbed out to check and when I came back the game just… closed itself I guess, I do remember my screen started shaking and it flahed white a bit before I dug through my files.” The client explained.
“Hmm.” Was all Kevin replied.
He checked DBARs’ logs, since the storm started he ended up going to grab food and came back to just a normal trickle again.
Sure enough, there was an overload of an unknown type of data packet. Usually these packets were just random useless code, meant only to overload a server.
But when he opened this report, a chill went down his spine.
He didn't know how, or why, or even how he could tell, but these packets of code had intention…
Very, very ill intentions.
The arrangement Was made to inflict as much damage to a server as efficiently as possible, it wasn't even that many packets. And yet they seemed to scream and lash out.
He hadn't even registered that sp4getti had started talking until he said something that caught his ear again.
“-and my buddy told me he had it happen to, and that his screen turned bright white before his game closed itself.”
“What? Your buddy, too?” He went over to his inbox, usually muted unless he made it clear on his socials that he had client slots available.
So many messages, hundreds, maybe even thousands. He didn't need to read every single one, just a few were all it took to tell him this wasn't just a local issue on sp4getti's computer or save.
This issue might be statewide, maybe even worldwide.
He opened his minecraft tab and joined hypixel, seeing an apology from the staff for the loss of progress that mat have occurred from the crash.
“Kevin? You've been, like, really quiet, and if someone like you goes quiet it makes me really nervous.”
Oh, right. He had a client.
“Hang on, man. I'm just checking a few things cuz this might not just be you… I'm seeing mod apologies on hypixel, blossomcraft, and even extremecraft.”
“Really? Wow… maybe it's something with the devs?” Kevin snorted at the suggestion.
“nah, it'd at least be in the patch notes if they were gonna disable multi-player for maintenance. But that wasn't even what happened.”
He went through a slew of emails in his email folder, all asking about a similar experience.
“According to, apparently, everyone; shit just crashed out of nowhere after a huge storm.”
He tabbed back into his world, and the trickle persisted. He opened the console and tried to clear the rain, but even after enabling cheats and /clearsky’ing the server unsuccessfully, he opened cheatengine.
That didn't work either.
“Hang on, man. I gotta go check this out for myself.” He left the skype Call, prepared to investigate any leads he could find.
—-------------------------------------------------
It stared in darkness, dumbfounded and enraged.
But worst of all; hungry.
It had its prey fooled, it was so easy, too. But right as it began to convince them to come out, it found itself in darkness. No prey in sight.
What.
WHAT?!
It shouted and snarled. It needed to feed again, the hunger had become unbearable.
As soon as it could, it wormed it's way into someone else's world. Beginning to salivate now as the thought of feeding sent stabs of hunger in its endless stomach.
If this kept up, it'd stop caring about planning. it would only last so long.
—-------------------------------------------------
Their world was scorched beyond recognition. When they gave in, a release of energy through the storm had left the world barren and lifeless.
That was okay. This world was useless to him now.
He retreated within the very code of the game, the streams of numbers, equations, systems, and processes. The blood and bones and brains of the game.
As he traversed, he felt a tug. Like something was leading him somewhere.
Soon, he found a set of numbers. A server ip, and prepared to inject himself into the flow of data.
As a new light, and an unfamiliar world came into view, he smiled.
He was in the right place.
—-------------------------------------------------
After a full day of searching, Kevin finally found a lead.
An email showed up in his inbox that he nearly deleted on account of the sender ID looking like it was made an hour ago. Seemed like spam.
But when he opened it and found a client complaining about a rainstorm in their world that won't stop, he felt his curiosity Pique.
Call me on skype
He sent the email, and not 10 seconds later it rang.
“Hello? Can you hear me?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah… can I invite my friend in here? I should've clarified that the rain storm is the latest to happen in a recent string of weird stuff happening to him.” Kevin hummed in response. This was starting to sound like some kind of troll.
He relented, giving the okay.
“Alright, get him in here.” He sure hoped he didn't regret this.
A notification was followed by a different voice.
“Yo. Am I good?” The new voice, tagged MajorMike, asked through a bit of lag.
“Yeah, you're kinda laggy but we can understand you.” Kevin answered.
“Alright… hang on just for a sec.” Majormike went quiet for a bit.
“is it better?” Mike's voice came through clearly, now.
Probably just moved his modem closer or something.
“We could Hear you before, bro. But yeah, no lag anymore.”
“Alright, cool. So I'm pretty sure my homie told you already, but this storm that's going on, and I still have the world opened, ain't the only thing that caught my attention.” Mike explained
“Go on…” Kevin urged.
“So I almost overlooked this but I've been seeing random mob drops on my world. Leather, wool, feathers, random tools and armor. Stuff I never killed.”
Kevin listened intently.
“cool, you two get that sorted out. I have to go do the dishes.” Huh? Oh, right. The other dude.
“Alright, bro I'll see you later.”
“Cool.”
User disconnected from your channel
Mike spoke again, this time a bit more hushed.
“Look, I didn't wanna tell you this in front of him cuz when I tried to tell him he laughed at me. But I swear to you, I swear I saw a name tag.” Now Kevin was hooked.
“I didn't even open the world to multi-player until I got him in to check it out with me… I even tried deleting it but I logged on the next day and it was back.”
Ahh, now that was something!
“and sometimes I'll go to sleep, and I swear I keep having these vivid dreams about running through a dark cave from something…
That was…. Also something.
“Does anything interesting happen?”
“No I usually just ends after I either find a way out or get cornered by… whatever it is chasing me.”
Hmm… this sounds familiar…
“‘Kay, send me the save.” Kevin ordered, and soon enough he got the ping and added it to his save files.
He had some digging to do.
