Important Annoucement!

Hey everyone. You've probably noticed the blog hasn't been updated much over the past week. I apologize for that but TBH, I am feeling a lack of motivation. The challenge isn't bringing the attention and excitement I thought it would to the soap opera fandom. Perhaps there are just too many prompts coming out every week? I don't know but let's just try an experiment. From now on, I will only post once a week (each Friday). Let's see if that takes some of the pressure off people and makes them feel more creative. Plus, it won't fill up your "for you" pages so quickly. I hope you understand my rationale and I hope you consider participating in future challenges. Thank you so much!

@soap100drabbles A quick drabble I came up with for the 3/15 word set. It's about Monica Quartermaine and her son AJ. Set in 1999 directly following AJ and Carly's wedding. A bit angsty. It should be easy to follow even if you weren't watching back then. Thanks for reading!!

“Got any advice for your newly married son?” AJ’s just put a ring on Carly's finger. Monica anticipates a full-scale disaster, but she’s trying to be supportive because AJ looks happy for once.

“You and Dad have been married for a long time. What’s the secret?”

“Great sex… Hey, don’t give me that look. Honestly? Your father’s my best friend. Despite our ups and downs, I truly can’t see myself with anyone else.”

“If Carly and I are lucky, we’ll get there one day.”

Monica embraces her son. Doubts linger.

“I hope you do, AJ. For Michael’s sake ... and yours.”

First Kiss (Sprina, GH drabble)

@soap100drabbles Inspired by the March 6th word set. Pairing is Spencer and Trina from General Hospital. Revisiting their first kiss at the gallery. Enjoy.

First Kiss

The gallery is dark, the air warm. His scent tickles her nostrils - an alluring blend of cologne, woodsy spice, and temptation.

Arching up onto her tippy toes to reach for him, she is grateful she wore four-inch heels. He gently cradles her face with his large hand as they kiss. His lips are full and impossibly soft. He teases her mouth open with his tongue as her fingers curl in the folds of his jacket. As many times as she’s secretly wished for this moment to happen, the fantasy pales in comparison to reality.

“Spencer,” she whispers huskily, “don’t stop.”

Take My Hand

Natalia had kept Blaze so busy she hadn’t seen Kristina in weeks. It feels like fate the day they stumble upon each other in an elevator at The Metro Court.

“How are you?” Kristina asks.

“I’d be better if I was going to lunch with you.”

“Join me?”

“My Mami…”

Kristina looks away. “Right…”

Blaze gazes at Kristina, this incredible woman who means so much to her. She knows what she must do. For Kristina, but mostly, for herself.

No more hiding.

“Take my hand,” Blaze says.

Smiling, Kristina reaches for Blaze’s hand. Their fingers intertwine.

The elevator doors open.

The Last Thing

He stares at her like she’s the answer to every question he's ever had.

Willow’s fingers feather in his sweat-dampened hair. “Close your eyes. You need your rest.”

“I can’t stop looking at you," he whispers. "If I die-”

“You’re not going to die, Chase! Finn’s going to find a cure. You'll be fine.”

“I have to face the truth. I might not survive this. I wish we had more time together, but at least I got to briefly call you my wife. If I pass away tonight, I'm glad your beautiful face is the last thing I’ll ever see.”

Liar, Liar (Sam/Lucky GH drabble)

@soap100drabbles Written for the Feb. 23 prompts. The pairing is Lucky/Sam from General Hospital. This drabble is set in early 2008 when 'Lusam' were briefly broken up after the Jakenapping secret was revealed. The setup: Sam does some dirty dancing with two strangers and Lucky responds. lol

Liar, Liar

“Let me go!” Sam shouts, flailing her arms wildly as Lucky carries her out of the bar.

“No,” Lucky says, “I am protecting you.”

“From what - having fun?”

Careful not to drop her, Lucky fishes into his pocket for his car keys. Opening the door, he wrestles her into the passenger seat.

“Lucky, I was just dancing.”

“Yeah, well, the two guys you were with looked like they had more than just dancing on their minds.”

“You’re jealous.”

“Not true.”

“Liar.”

He stares into her eyes for a long, poignant moment before turning away.

She’s right. He is a liar.
