The lack of media literacy I’m seeing with this George & Max beef genuinely concerns me. For those saying, “max literally got lando a penalty that race,” “max always tells on other drivers,” “of course George was trying to get max a penalty that’s what all the drivers do it’s a competition,” I genuinely wonder if you even read or listened to what Max actually said. To act like Max is simply mad that George lobbied for a penalty for him is totally ignoring or outright misrepresenting what he actually said. If you haven’t read the full quotes, then you’re not being fair. If you have, then you’re deliberately ignoring what he is saying and I have zero words for that.

Max didn’t say that George getting him the penalty was his problem. He specifically said that he had an issue with the way George acted inside the stewards room vs. outside of it. What George actually did or said, we will likely never know, so there’s no use getting angry at him nor defending him because you weren’t there! But the point is that whatever was said, Max felt strongly enough about it to express his feelings on the matter, something he is entitled to do whether you like it or not. George will likewise be entitled to express his feelings if he decides to when he inevitably gets asked about it.

On a semi-related note, just because the drivers are having beef doesn’t mean you need to have it too. We all have opinions and we all naturally want to defend our drivers. But you don’t have to hate on one just because you like the other. I am a fan of both drivers and them having a disagreement or being unhappy with each other doesn’t automatically change that. I don’t feel a need to try to misconstrue one or the other’s words just to make the one I like more look better. I’ll listen to what gets said, enjoy the drama, and move on. But some of you seem to think you have to be upset on behalf of your driver like they aren’t grown adults capable of advocating for themselves.

Some of yall need to take a deep breath and realise that we can enjoy this drama as an audience instead of trying to act like you are participants in it.

Hii!! This is in response to you asking what charles and carlos both did in the vegas gp!

I'm just gonna be completely fully objective here, bc rlly they didn't do anything wrong.

What happened was, a series of radio msgs between the team and Carlos occurred, in which they told him they were going to stay on Plan A (one pit-stop I think) instead of Plan C (2 pit-stops). Carlos argued back, saying they should be pitting and how he wanted to pit right now/ next lap. They said no.

At this point, Lewis is pressuring Carlos, and Charles is behind Lewis. I'm pretty sure george had already pit his second time and was still leading. Max and lando had also pitted a second time.

Anyway, the team finally listen and tell Carlos to come into the pits. However, they mess up and weren't ready and then tell him to stay out. Obv, Carlos is mad now. No matter, they pit him in the next lap.

4 laps later (or 2 I can't exactly recall) they pit Charles. The team tells Carlos not to pressure Charles. The team tells Charles that Carlos won't overtake him. You see where this is heading, don't you.

Charles comes out PARALLEL to Carlos (I think the team thought he'd come out ahead). Carlos' tyres ate 4 laps old. They're heated up. They're faster. Charles has absolutely new, dead, cold tyres. Carlos doesn't pressure him. He simply drives around.

The real dram started after the race when we all saw Charles' radio😭 Honestly, this is just a team problem not a driver problem.

Alot of ppl are saying they would've gotten better results if carlos let Charles ahead— they really wouldn't have. There was no way the ferraris would've caught up to those mercs.

ANYWAYY, there's my most objective views. Maybe, I'm.missing a few things but I'm negl the race was honestly so boring to ACTUALLY watch, like now there's drama but literally nothing was happening apart from this😭

I find it frustrating that people are blaming Carlos when it wasn’t Carlos’s fault at all, and I also find it frustrating that people think Charles’s meltdown was wrong. I keep saying this in every post but its clear as day that this was a ferrari problem not the drivers!

Mercedes was on a different level this weekend, they sure as hell were going to be 1-2, no doubt about that. And I get that Charles was trying to get p2 in the driver standings, but… 3-4 for constructors is literally phenomenal? I don’t see how Carlos isn’t a team player when this was the best outcome that could’ve happened. Besides his did better in qualifying anyway.

And I hate people mentioning old races like oh well Carlos moaned about this once… forget the past races, only focus on this one. Ugh, ferrari screwing over their drivers isn’t new but god, as someone who loves Carlos and Charles, I really hate seeing the fans tear each other apart.

I'm asking this out of genuine curiosity and I want people to give me a GENUINE answer without hating on the drivers, I'm sick of seeing hate I just want to know if we all watched the same race and what are our perspectives... Can someone PLEASE explain to me what Carlos did wrong during the las vegas gp? And on top of that explain to me what Charles did wrong, I want to see both sides of this argument because I believe both drivers have a right to be upset just not at each other. Anyway, I've said it a million times and I'll say it again you will NEVER see me be a ferrari fan as long as I die because wishing for one driver to get schooled by his future teammate is wrong, why would you say things like that like don't you want all the drivers to do well next year? and then wishing another drive to fade away into nothing is also wrong because why are yall actively praying for the downfall of other people???? It's disgusting behavior, all of you are blinded by hate and it's so sad to see

what if ferrari's main strategy was for all the fans to hate on the drivers (yeah im calling out the anti sainz and anti leclerc tags like go outside touch grass and stop blowing things out of proportion) so that everyone forgets about how GOD AWFUL of a team they are no one can ever make me like ferrari as a team, they literally are the worst

also some of the things you all are saying... i hope you understand that putting up with ferrari is a mental skill that none of us could ever do, one driver chose for a very long time to do nothing about it and is now snapping under pressure (rightfully so) and another driver said "stop inventing" and kept going forward (also rightfully so)

Okay so I'm going to be as objective here as possible.

Did Carlos contravene team orders to stay behind Charles left pit exit? Yes. He did.

But Ferrari delayed pitting Charles so he came out parallel to Carlos. On cold, fresh tyres. While Carlos had 2 laps to warm them up, with the Ferraris being known to take at least 2 laps to get tyres up to temperature (as noted after the first pit stop earlier)

And this was after Carlos was effed over by the team and told to pit when they weren't ready for him, at least FOUR laps after he said they needed to pit him or they'd lose places.

Race data predicted Carlos would have been in P2 if they'd pit him when he asked. Charles could have been P3 if they pit him earlier, too.

NEITHER of them would be on the podium and they'd have had a hard time catching Max if they had to slow down for 2 laps because of Charles' fresh cold tyres.

So does Charles have the right to be pissed that he was told there'd be an order and it wasn't followed? Yes, because he doesn't have all the context, and he only knows what the team tells him. Do I fully understand why Carlos effectively went that's a stupid-ass order and charged on anyway? Yes.

The person to blame here isn't Charles or Carlos. It's the Ferrari pit wall, for throwing away a 2-3 because they didn't listen to their driver when he said they should pit, then pitting the other one so late it didn't make racecraft sense for the other to stay behind.
