hi guys. ): i really hate doing this but I need some help. im finally getting my living situation figured out, but with covid and other life situations.. *message for more details...don't feel comfortable putting everything here*...I don't have a job. I have absolutely no money to my name for food, insulin (need this to live), or anything. I am type one diabetic and disabled, and struggling badly with no job, and also grieving from a personal situation (again msg me pls).
my blood sugars have been extremely high recently, luckily no keytones as of now, I have no Lantus and I need my long acting insulin. unfornately both my insulin combined is in the upward thousands without health insurance. please reblog guys, I have no health insurance and sadly I am disabled and currently out of work. i don't wanna die waiting on a job, or end up in the hospital again. last time I got brain damage from going to the hospital.

Christ, you guys werent kidding when you said that people don’t understand (nor care) what “neoliberalism” means.
What is this. This isn’t neoliberalism. It’s rainbow capitalism but it’s not “the definition of neoliberalism”. You guys just grab words and misuse them as much as you like so they lose their actual meaning and become completely useless, preventing actual useful conversations about the topics from taking place. You’re so annoying.

So I posted these two images that I made in a post together just shy of a year ago, and the post got 10,000+ notes. Today I saw a meme with a text convo of someone sending one of them to a military recruiter (which is extremely funny) and I thought “oh I should find that post again”
but when I went to find it, it had completely vanished. not just the original post, but even reblogs of it. I couldn’t even find screenshots anyone had taken of the original post. it wasn’t brought to my attention as a reported post, tumblr never even contacted me about deleting it, it just… disappeared
really gets the noggin joggin

TERFs trying to create a moral panic about the fact a trans woman has written books where not everything conforms to perfect internet discourser morality really confirms a trend I’ve already seen, which is that these people fundamentally only consider themselves on the political left because they embody all the most ridiculously reactionary excesses of moralizing “social justice” internet discourse. Like, every single extremely socially conservative and authoritarian trend you see young internet progressives engage in is embraced completely by TERFs. In recent memory I’ve seen TERFs parrot all the following fringe social justice ideas:
All literature and fiction should be perfectly morally didactical, any form of moral greyness in a work of fiction means that the author is in full endorsement of anything bad their characters might do.
The concept of “consent” should be expanded infinitely until it encompasses practically all activity in the public sphere: Individuals who wear outfits deemed Too Slutty who haven’t somehow managed to acquire consent from the entire population of their city before dressing like this are, effectively, committing an act that is morally comparable to deliberately violating somebody’s personal boundaries.
The right to fair trial should be abolished, progressive ideas can only be advanced through the application of arbitrary and extremely violent vigilante justice, a true feminist thus needs to be judge, jury and executioner. The TERF I saw parrot this idea specifically wants to become a doctor so that they can brutalize, abuse and hurt any patients that they personally deem to be abusive or bad people. and like, you know, none of these ideas are actually particularly leftist or progressive if placed under serious scrutiny. In fact, they’re all fundamentally in perfect alignment with some form of authoritarian social conservatism that sees “justice” as being defined by “the ability for good people to endlessly punish and brutalize bad people”, only distinct from conventional social conservatism in that it shifts the moral axis to some degree and defines “bad people” in a way that’s more aligned with the values of urban young people, or in some cases doesn’t even do that and simply proposes standard social conservative policies but with some re-framing (the one about public sphere consent is fundamentally indistinguishable from standard puritan social mores in application, it’s just framed differently). So like, effectively they end up being these really weird people who still claim they’re into “social justice” and thus part of the left, without realizing that their version of being on the left consists of collecting every poorly thought-up right-wing deviation present in social justice social media.

really disheartening to see how much romani are being left out of the conversation regarding neo nazism considering
a) we were and always have been a primary target of nazis (read up on this.)
b) we have historically been one of the two groups, alongside jewish people, who has suffered the most under their boot. (70-80% of europe’s romani population is estimated to have died during the holocaust, and that’s not even getting into how we were legislated against and experimented on before that.)
c) we still have to deal with the fallout of the porajmos today especially considering many laws that were put in place by nazis are either still in effect, have only very recently changed or are still enforced unofficially (e.g. forced sterilization of romani women being an example of all three depending on the country).
i’m not surprised, because suppression of our genocide has been the status quo ever since it happened (it took 40 years for anyone to acknowledge our holocaust happened, and even then it was only west germany that did and we got zero reparations either way. before that they literally claimed we were exterminated based on criminal grounds, not racial ones.)
it’s a deliberate tactic in order to keep us subjugated, and they do this with everything else as well– the deportations, the police violence, the mass protests against our very existence. (seriously. read up on it.) if it doesn’t exist, no one has to acknowledge it or do anything against it.
that’s why it’s imperative to include is in this conversation. every person who leaves us out of it is helping our oppressors do their work.

Arkansas just overrode the governor's veto and banned physicians from providing any and all gender affirming health care for youth and that strips over 200 trans youth currently on puberty blockers of medications they need.
I have been donating to Intransitive, which provides support for trans youth in Arkansas. They are going to need all the help they can get now that the bill is law. If you have anything extra to donate their ActBlue link is https://secure.actblue.com/donate/intransitive
Or you can donate via Resilient Trans folks in Arkansas

Thinking about that point @dingdongyouarewrong made in her most recent video about how a lot of people (mostly young people) online seem to view media exclusively through the lens of representation with no regard to the actual content of the story and it's tricky because it's clear that a lot of people are SO desperate to see themselves in the media they consume that representation alone is a selling point but we have to consider the potential downsides because there are limits to what representation alone can accomplish.
Like imagine if someone made a show that went REALLY far out of its way to have lots of representation and pitched itself as having lots of representation and everyone clamoring for more diverse media got really invested in it and then the show sucked ass. Like can you imagine what a NIGHTMARE that would be? Can you imagine the discourse? The bitterness? The down-badness of it all?
If someone ever made a show like that it might just produce one of the worst fandom experiences of all time

growing up as a cis girl the patriarchy told me “you’re a girl because of the way you were born, there is nothing you can do about this, you have no say in your gender” and i hated being a girl because it wasn’t my choice it was a prison and the trans community told me “you’re a girl because you say so, your view of yourself is the most important thing, if you change your mind that would be ok” and it made me proud to be a girl and feel empowered in my gender and i wasn’t trapped anymore and then terfs come along and tell me “you’re a girl because of the way you were born, there is nothing you can do about this, you have no say in your gender (but like in a woke way)” and they somehow expect me to be on their side?

“Unlike diversity trainings and “white accountability” Zoom sessions, unions have been shown to increase pay and job security for working people and decrease disparities between women and men and between people of color and white workers. They foster an environment where those of all backgrounds can find their common interests and realize through struggle that they are more powerful united. The wage scales cemented in collective bargaining agreements erode the racialized stratifications often created when individual employees bargain with their bosses. What’s more, the shared struggle for improved conditions can foster new forms of solidarity. A 2020 paper, not surprisingly, finds that white workers are less likely to hold racist views if they’re in a union, and that white union members also tend to have greater support for not only universal social goods, but for policies like affirmative action.”
— Bhaskar Sunkara, What if liberal anti-racists aren’t advancing the cause of equality? (via probablyasocialecologist)
