His insides jumped with both a sense of relief, and lingering panic. This was the way a person felt when caught stealing from his good-natured, Aunt’s purse, and also trying to hold it together as if everything was cool. "Hey-” Jake proceeded to go about pushing their Aunt’s purse back in place, without directly saying anything about the obvious.
#i decided to do a pre-season 1 canon thing from before jake left town#and yes the first thread starts with nick walking in on jake as he is taking money from their aunt's purse#thread O3 | nick.#nickarmstrcng

It was an awkward situation to say the least. Mostly with exs and all that. Lee told the story about what was happening with Eva. His brows darted up as a warry sigh fell from the practitioner’s lips. “As Faye stated I don’t have much of my magic powers left and well the totem worked a little too well. Much to his own surprise. Lee cleared his throat drawing his finger up to swipe his unruly bangs back out of his face. “I need all of you to cut the link so Faye’s natural magic will return to her and Eva can cut town before she starts to use this against all of you. Mainly me.”
The way Lee said that their totem worked a little too well, had instantly rubbed Jake the wrong way. “Why’d you even have the totem, to begin with?” he retorted quickly, with growing suspicions. A change of plans came to mind. If they were going to participate in cutting off this shady, voodoo link, they would have to ditch the books and brews, and go straight to the source. This Eva girl. “Wherever it is (the totem), that’s where we’re heading.” Jake looked around to the others, “We can handle her, six-on-one.” he paused, taking in his other circle member’s doubts and concerns. “That way, we’ll make sure it’s done and taken care of. No loose ends.” That was his pitch to convince them all to join in. Jake turned to Lee, “She’s at your place?”

( JAKE ARMSTRONG / FEAT. LEE LABEQUE )
Jake had called a change of course for their circle’s meet-up, tonight. Leave it to Faye to get mixed up with an outsider, and call the rest of them here to fix the sloppy mess trailing behind. If they were going to deal with a non-member, then they’d at least have to do this somewhere else. Their Abandoned House was out of the question; which, ultimately led everyone out to a boatyard in the abandoned marina. True to form, he proceeded with cynical assumption, merely listening to get all the facts straight. “ So, what you need from us, is, a nudge — to sever the link?” Clearly, the totem he and Faye were messing around with had more to the story, but Jake wasn’t going to cross-examine anything other than the immediate solution to their problem.

( ADAM CONANT. )
Rolling his eyes Adam turned to face him. “ As if I want to see anything but with one bathroom it’s kind of inevitable to avoid some nudity around here it would seem. “ He turned and pulled the covers over his bed, straightening them. “ Please don’t flatter yourself and I’m done with anything romantic inside the circle anyway, ” he said over his shoulder looking though his dressed for some clothes.
( JAKE ARMSTRONG. )
Adam was right. They had all gotten close, and now that most of them lived under the same roof, everyone seemed to be privy to getting just a little bit closer than asked for. Jake chuckled, “Wishful thinking there, Romance-Novel.” now moving to sit against the desk with his artifact. “Yeah, you’re done for now, at least..” he shrugged it off, and left his thoughts at that. Jake didn’t believe that Adam could completely cut ties, but there was no use for that now while he was obviously on the prowl. “So, this is what, the first time you don’t have a girl around 24/7,365?” Jake continued casually, trying little charms on the artifact as if attempting to crack a code.

( ADAM CONANT. )
Sharing a room with Nick wasn’t too strange of a development for Adam, he more than once considered it as being his future with the circle probably wanting to keep close after high school. What he didn’t account for was having Jake there are well and pulling the ‘ I’m the oldest so I am getting the single bed’ card.
“ Oh please, as you haven’t showed much much more. Why are you looking anyway? ” Adam asked half teasing as he stretched.
( JAKE ARMSTRONG. )
“ It’s like driving past a car crash—” Jake wasn’t that he was necessarily looking, to look, but this was just one of those things that it was right there, and in your face. “And, yes, I have, shown much much more, but, not to you. ” He began to pick up one of the old artifacts they brought from the Abandoned House, fiddling with it for a moment before returning his gaze. “So, next time you wanna go have a Little Bo Peep? Stop by the girls’ room.” Jake couldn’t resist making an indication that he suspected Adam was trying to sneak a peek. He often made it easy to get a rise, just for the sake of some good old humor.

( JAKE ARMSTRONG. )
Sharing a bedroom with 2 other people had it’s endless count of cons. One, being, his personal space. But, what he had just walked into had taken that loss of personal space to a whole other level. Adam, getting out of bed, and showing too much Adam for the morning. “Ever hear of tucking `em in?” Jake patronized. “No one wants to see that before coffee.”
