I have no idea why I haven’t done this already but thank you for this @hana-loves-bumblebees for this request!

Added Bofur and was going to put Fili and Kili taking turns of carrying a sleeping Bilbo but I ran out of room, might do it in the future or make a series of drawings with the Dwarves taking turns at Hobbit Holding 😁

Also got the singular ones ❤️ enjoy!

I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD

Hey someone suggested I use ChatGPT to figure out adulting today, and as I was going through the mental list of places I'd rather look, I realized "beloved strangers on Tumblr dot net" was on that list.
So if you have an aspect of adulting that you're really good at-taxes, budgeting, cooking, insurance, credit, time management, house upkeep, anything-please feel free to reblog with any tips.

There’s a phrase that has saved my adhd ass from making so many impulse purchases. It’s a very important phrase. Everybody repeat after me.
They won’t stop showing you the ad just because you bought it.

I remember posting this house before. It was built for the late comedian Jackie Gleason who was fascinated by space ships. The 1959 mid-century modern in Cortlandt Manor, NY is really something special. It has 5bds, 6ba, 7,000sqft, $5.5m. This is the Mother Ship.
And this is the space ship, a guest house.
It was built by a Scandinavian shipbuilder. Isn't this a cool space? The house is so detailed it took 5 yrs. to build, and Mr. Gleason bought a whole marble quarry in Italy to make sure that there was enough high quality marble to finish it.
I wish they would've shown a better photo of the fireplace- it's massive.
This is the living room and the round area is a dance floor. The living room goes around it.
Here's a very large sectional in front of the wall of windows. Look at the fireplace- what is that coming out of the side? It doesn't look like another fireplace.
Check out the ceiling.
Then, over here there's a dining area and counter.
Curved metal cabinets in the kitchen. It's modern, yet still looks mid-century. Look at the lighted glass top shelves.
It has a huge bar. This is a party house. Mr. Gleason entertained many celebrities here including Marilyn Monroe, famous baseball player Joe DiMaggio, and Pres. Richard Nixon.
Here's a game room. Those are the "official" shuffle board and pool table of the house, so I wonder if they convey.
Look at the vintage built-in stereo equipment.
The primary bedroom is in an open loft overlooking the main floor.
It has a round bed under a canopy.
And, round closets.
And, look at the round bath.
The grounds are lovely.
There's a brook on the property.
And the current owner's lovingly tended container gardens
This looks like a garden shed.
And, this 1930s house on the property is called "The Barracks," and can be used as a guest house.
The huge fireplace also has a 3rd part outside on the deck.
Here it is all lit up at night.
8.6 acre lot.

genuinely and truly i think it goes like this
merlin, 200 years old: all my friends are dead and it's only just begun to really hit me how short a regular human lifespan is and oh my god i'm really going to outlive everyone i love and that just makes me agonize over everything in camelot even more because what if i could've done THIS differently and then—
merlin, 2000 years old: really looking forward to eventually being ten thousand years old so i can watch the sahara desert go back to being green again. Until then i suppose i'll just have my usual fun (read: hanging out with the various magical beings that reside in the ocean, living as a bird for fifty years, getting wrapped up in some major historical event, etc.)

Kissing you for your take on Merlin's immortality
I am so so SO done with the fandom making him miserable and unable to live for for fifteen bloody centuries I hate it. Likehe is constantly getting into situations and is mostly unable to ignore someone/something when he can help
Merlin was probably present for most crazy events in history atleast pf Britain
RIGHT!!! LIKE!!!!!! it's so so so SO baffling to me to be met with "merlin is physically and mentally unable to be at peace for the rest of his life because. The guy he knew for ten years died over a thousand years ago :(" it's just completely nonsensical to me. and i'll preface this by saying that people are free to have whatever headcanons they want it's a free world i can't stop you etc. etc. but like. Man. You're telling me that MERLIN, the guy who said "we all matter" even in the middle of season 5 at his absolute lowest point, would just. Give up on humanity???? Entirely?????????? no that's genuinely the stupidest and most out-of-character thing i've ever heard. YES he would grieve YES he'd be absolutely miserable for a while but eventually it gets easier to breathe. eventually he would learn how to cope. that's how grief WORKS and he has all the time in the world to learn how to live again.
and i think there's also something to be said for the fact that he's not human. not entirely at least, and he never has been. canonically, all the way back in season 1, before it was even revealed that he was "magic itself" in season 5, he was being referred to as a "creature of the old religion." and i do genuinely think that would be something that would alter one's perspective on things (even moreso considering he's a dragonlord—he has dragons for kin just as much as he has humans for kin, and kilgharrah was literally stated to be over a thousand years old in the show). there are a lot of different ways to think about this and incorporate it into his character but at the core of it i personally think he IS just built different (i.e. built for a long lifespan instead of a short one, so he processes things differently at a fundamental level). so like yes it's very sad from a human perspective to lose all your friends and keep living while they're gone but that's literally just a natural part of the cycle of life and death and as a creature of magic i think that's something that merlin would come to accept. the fact that he lives longer than humans do doesn't mean that the years spent with all the friends he's made and WILL make in the future are meaningless. final goodbyes are always sad but that just means you cherish the memories you made together as you keep going. that's the POINT. of EVERYTHING.
and like you said! he's constantly getting into situations! he's someone who wants to help pretty much whenever and however he can! he's probably gotten into a metric fuckton of batshit insane situations, especially since. y'know. he lives in a universe where magic exists!!!!! the differences that that would have on the events of history as WE know it would be monumental!!!!!! and besides the older he gets the wiser he gets and wisdom is knowing when to let things go. when to keep moving (like he did in the finale!!! he stopped by where the lake used to be, he slumped for just a moment, but ultimately he didn't even look at it. he picked his head back up and kept on going. that's never been anything to me but the acceptance that what happened, happened, and he's gotta keep moving forward because he has a life to live). he'll always carry the memories of the people he's loved over the years in his heart but that doesn't mean there isn't room for more adventures and more fun to have and more love to give and receive.

Happiness after trauma can feel… suspicious.
Like you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But here’s the truth. You’re allowed to feel good. You don’t need to earn it. You get to live, not just survive.
