Today was the last day of SPIS. It was somewhat bittersweet. I've been through a lot these past 5 weeks (good and bad ) and have had a lot of time to think through things (night time walks with Mo :D). I've had many firsts, some which were pleasant and some not so much. I've met douchebags and besties alike and built temporary and lasting friendships. But it's all been a learning experience. I regret nothing. Excited for college to start very soon!!!

Watched the sun rise yesterday during my all nighter. Little did I know that it signified good things and changes that would happen that day. Life is good ♡

God sent:
So today we went to the beach. Most like any other day.
But this day was different because well... I kind of almost drowned.
What happened was that the tide pulled me out farther than I could stand.
I called out to my friend Joel and he grasped my hand and started to pull me back.
At that point I was hyperventilating and I kept on drinking seawater.
But he kept on telling me it was okay and that I was okay.
And then our other friend Jasper came to help us too and we finally made it to shore.
I was so scared for my life.
I’m so blessed that they were there to help me.
THANK YOU GOD <33

A blessing
I was kind of feeling like CS wasn’t for me throughout my time here at SPIS because it seemed like everyone else was getting it and I just wasn’t there.
But yesterday a speaker came to talk to us and he changed my mind about changing into a different major than CS.
He was an undergrad alumni from MY school UCSD.
He was a child prodigy in CS who attended classes at Berkeley when he was 13 and started lecturing when he was 16. He worked for the CIA, Microsoft, eBay, Bittorrent, and various startups.
And despite all that, he told us not to worry about feeling inadequate or behind the others because he himself felt that in his time at UCSD as well.
He told us that everyone felt that.
The fact that such an accomplished person felt the same insecurities that I am feeling truly comforted me.
I think he was God-sent to show me my path in life.
Just when I was seriously doubting myself He was able to send someone who relieved all my fears.
He even went so far as to ensure us that we would have job security coming out of college because he would do everything in his power to help us get the internships and jobs that we needed when the time came.
I don’t know if he is a man of faith but his talk was such a blessing to me.

Today was pretty fun. I got to paint Les and Justin's pinkies as well as get awesome filet mignon sandwiches with Marvince! It was national filet mignon day so they were super discounted but still delicious. We were so underdressed for Mortons but it was all good. I ate 4 and bought 8 for Daniel and dad! I heard they were pretty excited about it LOL

So today I wore my shirt and got mistaken as an international student. I also got stopped and asked to instruct a table on how to use chopsticks by Middle Eastern tourists at the dining hall. Quite the interesting experience.... Anyways after that I coded in the dungeons for like 2 hours and after went to RIMAC with Marvince. And then after I went to the dungeon to code again. That cs life though! I'm going on a snap chat cleanse and so far it's pretty great haha. Live in the moment you feel me braddah?

Today was pretty eventful. Ate at Shogun with the roomies cause we were tired of dorm food. Granted it is pretty good, but definitely tedious. After that classes and such which were the same as always. After though we went to study at Geisel which was really nice. But we got scared at the end because the elevator wouldn't come and the lights flickered so we freaked out and ran screaming up the stairs. No one was there cause apparently it was closing time XD After that we chilled ate some dinner and headed out to the Warren Mall where the glow stick scavenger hunt would take place. We were early so we just hung out but then this dude came over and was like frisbee? And I was like I suck... and he's like come on I'll teach you! So I ended up learning how to play frisbee and it was pretty fun! I guess I should get used to meeting strangers... After that we all played capture the flag. My RA Andy made me a spy for my team so I had to betray them T^T. After that my friends Taylor and Wyatt just sat out on the grass and talked (at like 10pm) while everyone else went inside to play cards against humanity. At like 11 we went to the dorm room everyone was and ate food and played never have I ever. And wow these kids are... quite interesting to say the least. Def not my cup of tea but they are still really chill! Just got home and it's 1 am now so night!

Today was fun! We visited the crooked house aka falling star and explored a little more of the campus. Died on our algorithms homework though :'D we also made a nice decoration for our dining table consisting of a red solo cup and two bananas. It's art XD. Plus Marvince visited me ^_^ he fixed my laptops Internet issue so he's the real mvp. I'm also locked out of my room because I accidentally closed the door when I went to the living room to work on more algorithms so there's that. My roommate is sleeping so T^T but it's all right because I did bring my blanket and pillow out just in case I got too tired get up haha.

Today was beyond amazing. Classes were fun, food was great, and my roommate and I went on a run around campus that ended up being 4 miles long. In addition a bunch of people and I went on a spontaneous hike to La Jolla shores which was breathtaking ♡

My friends and I were feeling pretty depressed because our code wasn't working for this one lab where we had to solve a maze using code. So we decided to camp out at the lab (aka the dungeon) for 5 hours and WE FINALLY FINISHED ♡ THE rewarding feeling of finishing a lab definitely makes the time all worth it ♡ Also Han and Grace came to visit me today ♡

SPIS Day 2
Classes were fun! I didn't know that computer science was such a broad spectrum XD Today I completed my first CS lab and it was such a great feeling! My apartment mates are really sweet and funny and I'm excited because 2 of them are in the same college and major as me ♡ It's 12:42 but I can't sleep XD Definitely going to have coffee tomorrow morning. Han is coming to visit tomorrow too so there's that ♡

Sadness
Sadness is when Tumblr decides to make you automatically follow all emails connected to your account when you haven't even spoken to some of them in a while :'D

We played Monopoly deal together ^_^ The food wasnt all too bad either haha. Excited for classes to start tomorrow!

On a clean slate:
I just realized tomorrow is the last day I hang out with my friends before I’m of to my summer program. And in two days I begin my college adventures. Just wow. This is so bizarre. I can believe its so close. Future, I don’t know what you hold for me… but I am so ready! Everyone says college is a fresh start. To those who have hurt and misunderstood me- I forgive you. One person specifically who let jealousy and insecurity as well as hatred get in the way of our friendship and cyberbullied me for the last half of senior year. It took a while for me to accept that she would bever be able to let go of her misconceptions and negativity towards me, but now I now realize that she is quite more pitiful and damaged and also had her own struggles. Like what one of my favorite teachers Mr. Tupaj said, “Those who hurt others often have something that has hurt themselves… So I pity them.” I hope that particular person works out the problems she has inside instead of lashing out at others. To those who I have hurt whether inadvertently or out of spite, I’m sorry. All I can offer is my promise that I will always strive to better myself. To my friends, I cannot express my gratitude. Although sometimes I get frustrated at the friendly teasing they give me, without them, their smiles, and our spontaneous outings, I do not think I would be able to handle the trials and struggles that have come across my path. To my parents: No words can express how indebted I feel. My parents would know when I had a bad day at school because I would be frustrated at home and very edgy. But their unconditional love (although daddy can’t express it that well) has been such a blessing although I’m sure I continuously fail to express it to them. George Elliot once wrote, “One can begin so many things with a new person! - even begin to be a better man.” Here’s to a better me in a new environment!
