Where have I been? (part 2)

I disappeared again ik. Don't worry tho cuz I've come back with updates. I have been working on stuff in the background I swear.

Kinktober recommendations was a huge success! Lots of people found new dramaCDs to check out and I got to comb through hundreds of files to remember what tropes were where. I hope to do something similar in the future.

I am almost done with the website. It will be barebones for a while, but I just wanted to get something out for now. I plan on posting weekly updates there until the website catches up with tumbler. The exception will be the kinktober stuff. I'll just wait until next October(because I am lazy). The website will have an RSS feed so you can "subscribe" and keep up with my posts

I have been working on the history element of the ultimate guide. If you have a drama CD you would recommend to a complete beginner, lmk.

Where have I been?

I know it has been a long time since my last post and there's a couple reasons for that.

I literally just finished my masters in the summer and am now starting my PhD. If you've gone to graduate school, you know how intense the year before your defense is... and now I'm starting the process all over again. I was just busy.

The indecisive person is indecisive. I am working on a website that I will likely be moving this blog to. It's through neocities. I know I literally moved the blog here from a website but it all comes down to changing terms of service between our internet overlords. I have a bit more control over anything I put out on neocities. Believe me this will make things easier in the long run. Making the website will take some time because I have the coding skills of a boomer and the designing skills of a child. Whenever it's done, however, I will let you know. All the posts here will be cross-posted there.

Despite all the stuff going on, I am actively working on several projects that include:

Reviews for both oddverse CDs are done. They will be posted soon.

Some Doujin CD reviews. I have one done and the other shouldn't take too long either. Four reviews for October? Yippee!

Kinktober audio drama recommendations (huge maybe). I will find a random kinktober prompt list and post an audio drama recommendation based on said kink. The issue is I would have to remember every kink in every audio drama I've listened to so we'll see

Ultimate guide to audio dramas. This is my big project for 2025. This guide is aimed at new fans but will include information anyone can use (history, terminology, where to buy, basic recommendations, other resources). I plan on making this guide available in several ways (blog and digital zine(?)) so that it is as accessible as possible. I also want to be able to edit it as things change. I want more people to discover and enjoy this medium as much as I do.

Why I recommend it?: The vampire/mortal relationship is a fan favorite found across romance media. There's something about when a vampire wants a specific person's blood so bad but because of their morals, they refuse to feed on them. I don't have many supernatural/fantasy audios but the few that I do, I love. This character is more straight-laced than I usually like but it works well for this dynamic. I also think that's why Fuyuno works so well in this CD. He has that serious sound to his voice. He voices a lot of characters like this.

Why I recommend it?: I wanted my last recommendation to be a recent audio since I know I recommended a lot of older audios. This is a good starter CD. It's fluff with a virgin LI. This character is a straight-laced jock type of person. He gets frazzled by the listener often. I heard all three from this series and they're all good. There's a slow enough build-up to the sex too. Most fans will like this CD and because it's so recent, you may still get the tokuten (pre-order bonus).

Kinktober Recommendations Day 30: 先生と幸福なひととき

Why I recommend it?: Literally just for the first track. That kissing scene is so cute like are you kidding me! The whole audio is just fluff from start to finish but that track is my favorite. The dynamic is bad but the relationship is just so soft and fluffy. The audio preceding this one is actually very dark so I was surprised with how cutesy it was. I picked this one because I wanted to balance out the kinks with something not so dark. As usual, Mitsuhashi's voice is just so perfect for my taste. I've probably recommended too many audios with mitsuhashi but he really is that active in the indie audio scene.

Kinktober Recommendations Day 29: The Starved Older Man Turns into a Beast. ~Thick Baby Making Sex~

Why I recommend it?: A vast majority of spicy audio dramas feature creampie. Some hate the sound, others love it. In this audio, the listener gets stuffed like a twinkie. This character is another pathetic older man voiced by Aki so you know it's good. Here, the listener decides to poke the bear so they can move their relationship forward. I love it when the listener takes what they want! Another gap moe audio. Maybe I have a thing for that trope? I do want to warn anyone looking to listen to this audio to try out the samples first. This is another audio that can be harsh on the ears. There's actually another audio that is famous for its creampie scenes. I can't remember the title but he cums liters. Yes, liters. It's hilarious.

Kinktober Recommendations Day 28: Love x Scramble

Why I recommend it? This CD is hilarious because of the voyeurism scene. Essentially, one of the LIs rushes into the room while the listener and the other LI are doing the deed. Instead of the sex ending, the two LIs have a full-on conversation while the listener gets back shots. I often come back to this CD because of this scene. It just goes on for a ridiculous amount of time. Domon plays this flirty type of idol character perfectly. I also like the manager/idol dynamic enough. I can only imagine how fast the listener will get fired because of these two.

Kinktober Recommendations Day 27: 運命の番 -TSUGAI- 第一弾 双子のα

Why I recommend it?: There are only a few omegaverse audios that I know of. It's for good reason, I bet. Dynamics found in omegaverse usually imitate dynamics already found in heterosexual relationships and therefore can be boring to some. The reason I liked this CD so much is because of the sniffing. It's embarrassing but I became obsessed with audios that featured sniffing for like a whole year. I also like that this CD has good ends and bad ends. Listeners can decide how dark they want the story to end. Bitter Princess (the label) tends to have a lot of darker stories so I would check them out if you're looking for that.

Why I recommend it?: Nothing like an animal hybrid to breed listener. Lucky for us, bunnies are always in heat (rabbits don't actually experience a "heat")! This character is more than willing to satisfy the listener all year round. There is a loooooot of sex in this audio. I also consider this as gap moe. He seems fairly professional until he gets horny. I highly recommend this series to anyone who has a breeding kink. The story is that the listener works at a company full of animal hybrids. Each audio features a different guy experiencing an intense heat. There are various dynamics but I think they are missing just a single audio where the listener forces (not really) the LI to breed them.

So here's the thing about this one. I relistened to it last night and they don't do it against the wall. My brain made it up. Everything else is true though. I also missed a day so what I'm going to do is just put up two recommendations on the 31st. Maybe I can find something spooky.

Why I recommend it?: Ataru and Mitsuhashi frequently do these darker audios, and they do them well. There are a few 3p audios with both VA and every time it's a win for me. They always just nail these darker characters. Can't even bring myself to hate this character because my brain is too busy turning to mush. I'm pretty sure this is the second stalker-ish audio with Ataru that I've recommended. I haven't talked about it but I also like the "obsessed at first sight" trope. It's like love at first sight but they're creeps so... you know. The poor listener is so nice that they are always getting preyed upon.

Kinktober Recommendations Day 23: 隣の席の変な先輩 １

Day 23: Stalking

Why I recommend it?: This is one of the best uses of voice acting I've heard in a while. Even without looking into the summary or reading the manga, I was able to get an almost perfect understanding of this character and his motivations. That usually doesn't happen with a character this nuanced. This is another one of those surprise scenarios. You think you know where this is going from the cover but the scenario is all over the place. This is probably my favorite stalker audio ever and that's saying a lot because there are so many stalker audios. I ended up getting the companion manga after listening to this because I was so invested in this character. I will be reviewing this audio soon. The world needs to hear this wild story!

Kinktober Recommendations Day 21: Lady Thieves Won't Escape the Rich Man

Day 21: Bondage

Why I recommend it?: Another classic scenario of a beautiful robber getting caught by an equally beautiful detective. I would like more of this scenario. It can go in several directions and I think with the right writer it could be a surprising twist. I love the way the LI reads the listener for filth in this audio. I mean honestly mitsuhashi could say "blah blah blah" on loop for an hour and I would love it. I'm clearly biased.

Synopsis (from website): Incubi... demons that haunt dreams.

They are a race that enters the dreams of humans and perform erotic acts to live. However, among the incubi are those whose magic is too low for them to enter dreams. Iku and Iku are two such low level demons who meet you. By having sex with you, they are able to increase their magic slightly. Iku and Iku are always loving on you, cleaning your ears, helping you relax, looking out for nightmares, as well as… having sex with you. This is your daily life with them.

Then one day...

"Miss!"

"Miss!"

"We want to go to an amusement park!"

Iku and Iku manage to make it to the human realm. Enjoy more of your life with low level incubi!

No first impression because I’ve heard this a thousand times before.

Final impressions (after multiple listens): This audio is a continuation of a sugary sweet life with Iku and Iku. Remember how in the previous review I said Iku and Iku make me want to spoil them. This audio is the result of that spoiling. They just want all of the listener’s attention to the point that it drives a wedge between them. They are a lot more needy in this audio which is just so adorable. I mean we jump right into smut because they just can’t wait. The brothers also have a bit of a dominant edge that wasn’t present in the last audio. It’s not very in-you-face. Just a lot more teasing from their end. 

I liked that this audio explored their relationship with each other more. I think it shows just how much the two brothers care for each other. The ASMR scene in this audio is more comical than relaxing because of how close the listener has become with Iku and Iku. Even when they were fighting, they were only thinking of what was best for each other. In some ways the listener is a third wheel to their sibling spat. That’s why I think the Ferris wheel scene was the perfect way to end this audio. You get more cute banter between Iku and Iku but also you get the sense that the listener is now forever tangled in this love affair (not that the listener would ever want to escape). 

I enjoyed the juxtaposition between the smut and fluff scenes. It felt that as Iku and Iku got closer with the listener, the sex got more intense. God was I here for it. I loved seeing Iku sway between being the more dominant brother to being absolute mush for the listener. The Ferris wheel scene was the culmination of this in that it went from a really sweet confession between the three to a messy make out session. Can’t get enough of these lil’ guys! Monoblue hasn’t done much with this series since Iku and Iku but I would love another sequel.

Would I recommend it?: Of course! I recommend it for many of the same reasons I recommended the first entry. I think this is a great audio for those that like more fluff in their audio dramas or rather crave an established relationship between characters. I definitely recommend this for anyone who likes 3p. As I’ve said before, Hirame really brings out the individual characteristics of Iku and Iku. This audio also doesn’t include the dubcon element of the first audio so it might be more tolerable for some. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend this audio is because of the intensity of the smut scenes. 3p scenes are already a lot for the senses but the first couple tracks in this audio can be really overwhelming even for me. I would test out the samples before buying.

Why I recommend it?: Many of the CD from Hobigirls feature these kind of soft scenarios, but this is my favorite. The listener gets to lay back and enjoy pure lovemaking from head to toe. This LI is the type to say "Your pleasure is my pleasure". It's a lazy Sunday full of fooling around with the listener's basketball boyfriend. If you like to be pampered, you'll love this CD. It's also a short CD with only two tracks (given one is 50 mins long).

Why I recommend it?: I love love loooooove when Aki voices these types of scruffy older men. They always sound so pathetic or weak to pleasure. It's so good. Teasing your partner until they can't help but let go is just so much fun! In this CD, the listener helps a pathetic salary man get his mojo back. The breeding is just a fun add-on. I just really like watching characters get corrupted. So angry that he can't help going round after round. I HIGHLY recommend checking out Aki's other works as well. He's underrated for sure.
