alright. so. ✘ ❱ ❱ ❱ ❱ ❱    His  mouth  opens,  agape  in  consternation  and  a  heavy  disturbance  of  just  how  badly  the  words  wound  him.  Every  bit  of  his  body  (  that’s  still  undamaged.  )  was  quaking  with  the  sheer  force  of  anger  and  memory  of  every  thought  that  shared  same  ideas  in  their  essence.  A  mistake...  that’s  all  lemongrabs  were,  weren’t  they ??  Nothing  about  them  was  intentional.  Just  look  at  him  !!  He  poisoned  the  very  person  he  was  created  for.  He’s  an  unintentional  renegade,  plagued  with  the  penitence  of  his  own  brother’s  lynching.  Nothing  he  ever  did  could  make  up  for  this  indisputable  evidence  that  he  was  wrong.  He  was  full  of  missing  pieces  inside  and  out,  and  this  was  the  entire  truth.   And  his  mother...  Bubblegum.  The  question  is  only  meant  to  hurt...but  it  does  so  much  more.  It  leaves  him  deliberating...  brain  sorting  out  every  single  possibility  and  piece  of  incriminating  evidence  that  proves  his  mother  hates  him.  He  doesn’t  need  to  contemplate  long...  as  he  is  already  certain  in  the  fact  that  she  does.  Mother  hates  him...  perhaps,  she  hates  him  even  more  than  any  other  lemongrab.  Even  more  than  the  gluttonous,  cruel  lemonblack.  He  strayed  from  her  original  plan.  She  hated  him.  He  made  her  disappointed.  Lemonwhite  is  her  mistake,  not  her  son.  There  is  nothing  that  he  has  done  that  has  earned  him  such  a  close,  maternal  bond.  He  is  no  son. This  must  be  why  you  were  taken  advantage  of.  Every  shock,  every  bite,  every  strike  and  burn  and  forceful  push  and  insult  and  scream  and  everything...  it’s  all  because  you  are  a  mistake,  at  your  core. Even  if  he  believes  this...  he  has  one  response; Outrage.❝  Leave.  Now.  ❞

How is Lemon Camel and Lemon Horse ?

✘ ❱ ❱ ❱ ❱ ❱    ❝  Oh,  they  are  both  well  !!  I  was  able  to  spare  them  from  my  brother’s  wrath  during  his  time  as  ruler,  after  all.  Lemon  Horse  tends  to  be  a  bit  more  aggressive,  so  I  take  care  of  him  to  assure  no  lemon  citizens  get  bitten  by  him.  Lemon  Camel  is  the  mmm…mmost  friendly  creature  of  all  time  !!  She  likes  to  wander  about  the  main  area,  where  all  the  citizens  like  to  roam.  They  all  take  care  of  her,  like  an  earldom  pet  !!  I  believe  most  of  them  have  dubbed  her  ‘Lemony’.   ❞

Honestly? I really like your portrayal, its fresh and nice to see---- I was never a real fan of the canon fate of Lemongrab 2 and kind of always wanted to see something like this happen instead. (plus ur writing is A++ ?? I love how skittish L2 is, its not often you find properly written traumatized characters n i think ur nailing it!)

gosh, that’s so sweet! thank you very, very much for the kind words. i adore lemongrab 2 and felt that his story had so much more potential had he progressed and lived through all of the horrible events of the earldom of lemongrab. as a trauma and abuse victim myself it is incredibly important to me that traumatized characters are portrayed in a respectful, and yet still interesting light while also shedding some light on the less “attractive” traits of a trauma victim that media doesn’t like to showcase.
