"Things, not people."
“ I was not train to fight inanimate objects. “ Nebula was a trained assassin. Can’t really kill something that is not alive, right? “ Sometimes, people get treated like things, don’t you think? “

Meet Vilvir
He’s young adult alien ( so like, 50 or something ) from the race Autocrons, used to be a resident of Sanctuary II and a loser
To how did this Autocron end up in her father’s ship, she had no idea. Vilvir is different than most Autocrons that worked with her enhancements. For the most part, he just assisted anyway. Occasionally, getting kicked his black blue ass whenever he dropped something. Vilvir has more humanoid features than most Autocrons, he is defective as some would refer him too ( which Nebula took offense on his behalf but never say it out loud ). Maybe, her father woke up on the good side of his bed and took pity of him. Nebula hated how he looks at her—pity. He had secretly hated him for that. Pfft! She needs no pity, especially not from him. However, she appreciates ( she will NEVER say it out loud ) how he is gentle when he takes and replaces her parts, seeming like he felt her own pain, even more than she did. Seeing his reaction was one of Nebula’s first moments where she questions her own self if what was really being done to her was for her own good. The times where she attacks Sanctuary II to kill Thanos, she had killed every single Autocrons who worked on her, except for Vilvir. He kicked him into a space pod before kicking it into space. She didn’t hear from him after that but she hoped he is doing okay.
What she feels amount Nebula….
Terrified. Even if Nebula keeps losing to Gamora, it’s Nebula he is terrified with. Some days, he is even more terrified than her than Thanos himself. For him, there is no more terrifying than a person with a hot-temper losing to a battle with daddy issues. As much as he is scared of her, he feels sorry for her above all, probably because he could see himself in her and most of the time, he feels sorry for himself. Being not good enough had always been his fear and he could tell, Nebula felt the same way too.

Nebula sized him up, her eyes going from head to toe. Out of all planets in the galaxy, she never thought she would see a Kryptonian. Not just one but two. Her lips twitched, silently laughing without any humorous context. “ I thought Kryptonian is a dead race. “ // @xoxosuperman

Nebula doesn’t really care about this stranger but months of staying on Earth, she found out that cat-calling was a sign of disrespect but most importantly, she is bored. Three moves and she was pretty sure she broke one of this rude man’s bone. Of course, that was enough. She lifted him off the ground by the collar of his jacket and made him face the person he making obscene remarks to. “ Apologize, “ she commanded. // @titantroia

“ I’m fine. “ She grumbled at the other because she was not fine. The other needed to know that. While she could fix her cybernetic parts, her actual flesh was taking it’s time and it was annoying her. “ Stupid humans. “ Again, she grumbled talking about the random explosion that had hit her. Significantly smaller one that hit her but she knew authorities will start to arrive and she didn’t want to be anywhere near the scene. // @maxhimov

“ I know you. “ An Asgardian. She was wondering how a legendary warrior like her was doing slumming on Earth. Though, she wouldn’t admit loud but she was starting to see the beauty of it. She might only be seeing it because she had been hanging out in the most beautiful part of it all, thanks to an unlikely friend. // @originalwar

“With the amount of heroes in the world, you’d think we’d have less villains.”
Nebula laughed but there was nothing humorous about, just plain mocking. “ Makes all these heroes seem stupid, isn’t it? “ Maybe, it was the reason why she used to be easily swayed by her father’s vision. She thought she on the winning side.

✘ why leave your father, why not kill him yourself?
10 TRUTHS // still accepting
Ears rang in fury. There was that implication again. She was not good enough. Not good enough to do her father’s bidding, not good enough to end his life. “ That’s what I’ll be doing if I wasn’t stuck in this damn planet. “

TONY STARK
@spacecyanide : “ i’m so sick of them coming at me. ”
he has nothing to offer in terms of gentle guidance. in fact, everything learned took effort from events that ( retrospectively speaking ) should have gone a lot smoother were it not for his inevitably stubborn self getting involved. “ let them, ” which led them to this nugget of advice. “ you have nothing to prove, you answer to yourself alone. if they want to challenge your reasons for being here, for helping to your best ability, then strike back. ”
there’s a pause, one that forces him to look up from the newspaper between them, pen pointed at her. “ not with force. you’re smart, use that cunning to your advantage and none of these third rate gossip mongers will have a leg to stand on against you. ”
The anger she felt was slowly simmering down almost unconsciously, eyes fluttered while she blinked confusion triggered by his words. As she processed his words, Nebula was starting to realize how right he was, she had nothing to prove to anyone but herself. She would always find herself with the same situation she had left back in space, being judged for her clouded judgment and even if she was trying to be better as she came to that realization, it was way too easy to go back to her old habits. The last thing she wanted was to be the person her father made her to be---a monster, a plaything on his game.
" I...I am smart. " She grumbled under her breath like a stubborn child wanted to prove something---another bad habit of hers, really. But even smart people still need one thing or two to learn. When all plans were laid out on you, sometimes it was easy for her to forget she was a battle strategist. Now, she was reminded not every battle was won by force. " Make them think I'm weak so they think they can exploit me? Will their own arrogance to fire back at them? "

“Really?” Tilting his head, Wally was taken by surprise at the answer. Well, he hadn’t been attacked just yet, so maybe things weren’t as bad as his mind automatically assumed. “Huh. Well….that’s ok. Not everyone needs to be. It’s a stressful job- and no dental insurance either.” He shrugs a little and smiles. “Honestly, you just looked so badass, I assumed.”
" No dental insurance? “ She scoffed, not like she knew a lot about it as she only she about this kind of stuff recently. There was nothing like that in space, just trading and lots of shady deal. “ It seems like a bad business. “
Nebula stepped in a little closer, eyes sharp like it can cut through the boy with head of fire. “ You who else looked badass? Murderers. “

LOIS LANE
Lois snorted softly at the look on the woman’s face. “It’s as stupid as you think it is,” she said. “It’s supposed to be a dating app but mostly yet another venue for men to flaunt their superiority complexes.”
To be fair, Nebula thought everything on Earth is stupid. Well, except for avocados, she lives for that shit. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the deacription the women had given. " If Tinder exists in space, then my father will dominate that. Have you thought of terminating that? It's not healthy for this society. " Not like she every cared about the society.

BRUCE WAYNE
❝ BY EXTENSION, YES. ❞
With any closer observation unavailable for now, he’s left to what can easily be gleaned from singular interaction : extraterrestrial organisms lie somewhat OUTSIDE the Batman’s purview, but the LANTERN CORPS’ involvement with the League has done a great deal to close the ever - more - obvious gap. Still, he finds himself lacking in his usual comfortable wealth of information. ❝ They have representatives who stand alongside this planet’s OTHER HEROES. ❞
A flicker of uncertainty ; a NON - ANSWER. Origin of the captive notwithstanding, interrogation has always been a stronger suit. He elects to PUSH upon the obviously - concealed bruise.
❝ If RECONNECTION is what you seek, I am certain we have the resources you may need. But I’m sure you understand that intentions matter most, in this instance. ❞ A step edged toward the glass partition. ❝ I am a father, myself. I could not fathom the stress of an … INTERGALACTIC SEPARATION. Perhaps he also searches for you ? ❞
Nebula felt she was being ambushed. She didn’t like it, being cornered was usually what she did before the big crash, only she has different intention for doing so. Usually, she doesn’t put criminals down to justice. Her eyes twitched and narrowed at him to hide her discomfort by toughening up her exterior. “ Of course, they would. So, you’re here to finish their job? “
A scoff made it way out of her lips. In a way, she understood. No one helps another person without a question. Either they had to dive their nose on people’s business first or meet their demands for a certain price to pay. “ Are you sure you are going to continue to act like you care for my personal agenda or is there something I might be able to trade for in return for an access to these said resources? “ He couldn’t possibly just be simply helpful even if she have pure intentions, right?
“ I’m afraid having your own kids doesn’t instantly make you understand my situation. You don’t know me. “ She smirked, a sick form of amusement materializing on her face. “ I bet he does and let me tell you, you don’t want him anywhere near your beloved planet. “

TONY STARK
Tony raised an eyebrow at her response. At best her appearance could be spun into some kind of cosplay which worked in this city because New Yorkers were known for being somewhat eccentric, but at some point people were going to figure out that this woman was actually what she seemed to be.
“That’s on my list of things to improve,” he said. “It’s a really long list. Right now half the technology based endeavors at Stark Industries have product launches scheduled out for a few years. I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to update the internet before I can update the products using it.”
He glanced around. “You’d be less conspicuous if you got something to eat and drink,” he said. “You need some help with the menu?” The last thing he wanted was for people to panic.
Ah, now, his name finally made sense. “ Stark Industries? So, you’re an Avenger. “ The name was popular around the facility she lives in. Actually, he is popular around New York and possibly around the world. For months, she had only heard about him, this is not how she imagine meeting him would be.
Now, she wondered if building a spaceship was on his list.
“ I’m not really hungry. “ She was actually enhanced not to be hungry, Nebula could withstand hunger for a very long time but her cravings at the sight of food, for some reason, they were not able to get rid of that. She swallowed hard and and looked away from the menu, eyes settling on Tony’s features. “ A drink, perhaps. “

BRUCE BANNER
┉ ❝ Not so far, ❞ Bruce said, the resignation in his tone indicating that he saw it as only a matter of time. The way his life seemed to be going lately, he couldn’t imagine not getting roped into some kind of space nonsense. ❝ I’m not sure I’d count space as better, though. ❞ Though for all he knew, it might be safer.
┉ Ah. That was really all he needed to understand her circumstances. He’d been in that sort of cage more than a few times before. Truth be told, he wasn’t completely sure he wasn’t still in one. He’d never really been sure whether he’d been found after his latest disappearing act, but considering that SHIELD had managed to keep him under surveillance for years without making him aware of the fact, he had to assume that he’d never really been on his own. Besides, SHIELD had nothing on the espionage capabilities of some of his erstwhile teammates. ❝ I’ve got a little experience with the implied kind of cage too, ❞ he admitted. ❝ It’s better than the alternative. ❞ An alternative which they absolutely would dare. He ought to know. It had been his cage, the last time they’d tried it. Maybe they’d learned something.
┉ ❝ It is, ❞ he said bitterly. ❝ But people seem to change their minds when a crisis comes along. ❞ Even when the one who was going to be doing the breaking wanted no part of it. Although to be fair, he wasn’t the one that actually did the breaking. Just the one who got to deal with the consequences afterwards. But there were more interesting things to focus on - like the fact that breaking things seemed to have caught her attention.
Nebula would always prefer the space but it was not up for everybody. Yet, she could definitely still see the appeal of Earth. She had been to a lot of planets and despite of its size, there seemed to be a lot of things going on, so much that a lot of people don’t even mind a blue cyborg walking around. They’ve seen worse and they are still standing, there was a respect to a certain extent she wouldn’t say out loud. She also knew they would probably wouldn’t stand for that long. “ At least, it’s wide enough for me to run away from those Green Lanterns. “
Apparently, the safety the facility offered was just another way to tell her she would always have target on her back but surprisingly, she could make peace with that. The target has always been on her back all along. Nebula nodded because Bruce was right. No matter how bad it seemed, it was a better treatment than what she got from her father. She was just seeing it now. She was realizing what he wanted was not what she wanted.
“ You mean, when it was useful. “ She scoffed because it was another thing she could relate. How many times did his father used her love and loyal to him for his own twisted plan for the entire universe. Anger started seeping to her again, eyes twitched for a brief moment before she pulled herself out of it. “ Breaking isn’t always a bad thing. “ Sometimes, you just got to put a hole in wall---or two---to feel better.
