Meanwhile Diana’s sitting there hallucinating her own birth. It’s a good time.

Okay, SO, notice Gilbert’s hesitation and how quickly he backed up from the kiss. (And is that a slight head shake?) 

I feel like he was in a daze at first (hence the pause), then in disbelief he’d gotten to kiss her. But then what just happened starts really sinking in and he backs up.

To clarify, I think his zoom in to kiss her in the first place was his instinctual response to the invitation in her eyes, but then he’s questioning his instincts (because he’s Mr. Logical) and backs up because he’s not quite sure he did the right thing (he was probably worried she’d smack him) because his logic took over.

Aaand then the question to get verbal confirmation of his instincts…which she completely ignores in favour of following her own instinct to kiss him as proof.

If only we got to see Anne teaching Gilbert to trust his instincts once in a while in the future seasons…

All I can say is that Yuzuru looked incredible during the Short Program. His quad Sal is back, the twizzles into and out of the 3A were exquisite...he was a little tight on the 4T+3T and got a level 3 STSQ but still 109.60??? 48.47 PCs??? At the start of the season??? At Skate Canada???? 5s across the board (excluding judge 4, wtf) for his beautiful 3A??

Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

And he just looks so happy and a healthy. Truly healthy for the first time in so long. His jumps look so clean and stable. The way he moves is so fluid. I hope this keeps up the rest of the season and I pray that he achieves everything he sets out to do. He deserves every scrap of happiness out there in the world.

Anyway, he’s the one true GOAT and there’s no one that compares to him.
