"Long day, huh?" He chuckles. God knows they haven't slept in ages.

the blond wasn’t sure when she last saw actual sunlight or their daughter, the thought of sherry made her feel a breath of guilt but hopefully soon they will be finished and the both of them can get out from umbrella’s ever constant thumb.

when she felt her husband’s arms around her, annette instantly relaxed, whatever burden she carried on her shoulders were instantly forgotten. at his comment, she lets out a tired chuckle. “rather obvious, don’t you think?” gods knows that sleep became something like a myth nowadays, annette is sure that the bags under her eyes are capable of carrying groceries.

“i think we’re quite overdue for a nap, dear.” though she wasn’t quite ready for bed just yet, the hour was still early enough yet to hopefully spend some time with sherry if she’s still awake. maybe eat an actual meal at an actual dinner table instead of grabbing food to squirrel away back at their respective labs. “but first let’s go check on sherry, hm?”

annette can almost feel a headache start to build and funny how it always seems to tie into albert whenever he is feeling… off, she supposed. she isn’t as well acquainted with albert compared to her husband, but she worked with the man long enough to get a faint idea on whenever he gets like this.

“albert, clearly it’s not nothing.” whatever was bothering the taller man seem to have passed onto her husband, who was busy coping by hiding himself in his lab. “was it irons again?”

the man was notorious and anytime she saw him, a shiver would creep up her spine, especially whenever irons got that look in his eyes every time he saw her. she and her husband were more fortunate that they didn’t need to interact with the man too often, but albert on the other hand?

the blond’s self-control must be staggering. “or is it something else?”

i figure early on as she started university, annette was rather focused on building up her career, in her teens, she wasn't the type to imagine or fantasize what their future wedding would look like. she was raised by a single mother so marriage wasn't very appealing to her at all.

so imagine her surprise after dating william for a while, that she wouldn't mind spending the rest of her life with that man. i can imagine her proposing first but william probably did it first before she could fmdkslgmkdls

as for the marriage between them? i say it was pretty decent, annette loves her husband very much and did everything she could to support him.
