Welcome to my Blog!

Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, I'm SunlitSparks, though you can call me Sparkles (or Aster, or Sparks, or even Sunny LOL). I'm 21 and a bisexual demigirl that goes by they/them pronouns. I’ve been a writer for around 14 years and though I've always liked to draw, I've never really considered myself an artist until maybe the last couple of years or so. It's still a work in progress but I'll be posting updates to both the Tumblr blog and my AO3, which is also linked in the pinned post. Additionally I'll be occasionally dumping other fics and silly little AU ideas. This will be primarily a Sonic blog but you'll see content from other fandoms now and again as well. Maybe eventually I'll make a dedicated sideblog to organize it better. But for now? F*ck it we ball. Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang 2025

In addition to moderating this year's Sonic Big Bang, I also participated as an artist for @mareyoonwg's fic I See The Future In Your Eyes! It's a Shadow x Sonia fic that focuses on an unexpected romance blossoming between the two and delves into his conflicts between his desire to be happy in this life versus knowing he is an immortal being and that all happiness will eventually pass before he does. It's actually one of my favorite Shadow ships and I was super excited when looking at the writer claims to discover that someone was going to be writing a fic about them! Unfortunately, I didn't get to make a lot of progress with my art and ended up just running out of time. Between work and other life circumstances that were beyond my control, all I managed to get finished was an incomplete neat sketch. I decided to share it anyways though, so here it is!

It's not much, but it's a start, and I do intend to finish it as soon as I am able to! Hopefully by the end of next week, so I can focus on Artfight next month! This piece in particular was challenging for me because not only am I a beginner artist, I've never drawn more than one character on a canvas (save for two headshots of cats), and I've also never drawn two halfbodies from a side view! I know it's still got a lot of work to it, but I see the potential and I'm hoping to turn it into an amazing piece soon. @mareyoonwg and @real_duck_bacon, it was a huge pleasure working with the two of you this year, and I hope you're both so proud of what you've completed, because I sure as heck am! And thank you so much to the entire @sthbigbang community for making this such a wonderful experience!
