There's a split second where Ist just gawks at him. He was really just going to carelessly blow the place up with all of them still inside???? Himself included??? They don't even have the ability to dwell on the fact that he called their eyes pretty right now.

"J-Just, hold on." Ist'aufein quickly searches the outer rims of the room for some button, loose stone or a lever. They find exactly that beside a bookshelf in the smaller connected room. The 'drow' blinks as the wall moves to reveal the room they had originally entered into.

"Let's all get back upstairs." Their eyes flick to their other companions, a slight jerk of the head as a silent 'get the fuck out of here'.

this place gave him the creeps, and rightly so. a necromancer's laboratory with traces of the wretched thaumaturgy every which way they stepped— it left a vile taste in his mouth. the sooner they got out of here, the better.

by the time ist'aufein suggests an exit strategy, xvilnar's retrieved a smokepowder bomb from his bag of holding. his throwing arm pauses.

“   way out? ” right. he turns his head, “   ... well, go put those pretty eyes of yours to use, eh? maybe we missed a lever somewhere. ”

“I hate when flies rub their disgusting little hands together. What could you possibly be plotting? You can’t even get out the open window.”

"Gods, don't make me think about that--" Ist gives a dramatic little shudder, shaking their head to get the mental image out. "They're gross little bastards. The only thing they're plotting is how to ruin your next meal." Which, in all fairness, did not in fact require them being able to get out of a window.

"I don't like that you called them hands, but paws doesn't sound right either." The 'drow' grumbles, eyes flicking to the nearby windows. Just making sure.

//I know I've mentioned this before, but Ist'aufein does refer to themselves with they/them pronouns as an attempt at saying fuck you to Lolthite gender roles. They think of it like 'I choose to be nothing so I am my own'.

That doesn't mean your muse is required to respect that though. I am fine with Ist being misgendered ic, and whether Ist deems to correct your muse weighs entirely on how intimidated by them they are--

Instinctively, they open their mouth to object.... only for them to pause, brows furrowing instead. A basement with a cursed evil necromancy book? With shelves of information on death and necromancy related readings? Honestly, they kind of agree with burning the thing down.

"Yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea but just... let's worry about finding a way out before we set it ablaze."

“I should've been a drow. They have such stylish armour.”

There's a long, clearly judgmental silence from the 'drow' as they look over at Katya. "I'm not going to spend the energy it would take to unpack that, and instead point out that this isn't even drow armor. I'm pretty sure this was made by a human, actually."

But I have never been able to figure out Ist's because I can't imagine a universe where they're just... okay with finding out the truth about their patron. There is no universe where they don't just, immediately throw up and cry upon learning that.

They're not even upset about not having warlock powers anymore if they're abandoned by the Beholder. They're just upset about y'know... literally everything else.
