The department trip to Szeksz谩rd! We first went to visit a nuclear power plant, but the main part of the trip was the wine tasting! In the end I perhaps had a bit too much wine 馃嵎

This is what protest looks like. I was surprised how vibrant political culture is in Budapest. Despite CEU being an obvious liberal bubble, we aren鈥檛 the only ones. Others are also fighting the good fight.

Coffee snacks and study! Is basically my life now. Coffee culture in Budapest is great however. It鈥檚 easy to walk to one of the 6 nearby coffee shops and enjoy a cup before class. Too easy perhaps! I also enjoy k眉rt枚s kal谩cs too much as well! There is a stand by the tram stop two away from where I live, and the sweet smell of warm and fresh pastries is always so temping whenever we pull up to the stop. Only 300 huf!! And lastly there is a cat cafe nearby that is just adorable. Though the cats don鈥檛 care about me much at all, I love them and want them to pay attention to me!

Budapest is truest a city of statues. I love how the whole city looks like a piece of art. Sometimes I still in awe of what a pretty place I live in. The first pic is the kind of peaceful I aspire to be. Erzsebet Ter. The second looks like a playful cherub. Kalvin ter. The third was near the oldest baths, kiraly bath house. And the last is just in such a pretty location along the Danube. She鈥檚 always part of the stunning pictures of Budapest at night.

CEU is a great university and they have tons of diversity. I've made friends from all over the world. Honestly I'm really happy I ended up going here. The campus itself is also beautiful. The library has stunning architecture and a ton of natural light which makes it ideal for studying. But my favorite place of all is the root top garden. It's a lovely little space made and maintained by CEU students. I'm addicted to that place, there probably isn't a day with nice weather that goes by where I don't go up there and sit in the sunshine.

The basilica is truly a wonder. It's just a few minute walk from school. Honestly I am so lucky to be going to school at CEU. it's got the perfect location.

Like most parents, mine can be a little exhausting. But you gotta love em. We did a lot of sight seeing in Budapest while they were here, and they gladly took selfies with me. Not homesick yet, but I probably will be once winter comes.

Family. It seems so strange that I don't see these people for years at a time. They seem unchanged and completely different at the same time. It's only been two years since I've last been. But it's been six years for my mother. Coming together again has been refreshing and long overdue. Although I have the advantage of spending a year with my relatives, given that they actually visit me in Budapest.
