I MISSED YOU | APRIL X JULIA

Once April had gotten the text from Julia, her entire stomach exploded with butterflies. Due to her punishment, communication between the two had been pretty scarce. She had spent the last few days of her Sophomore Year, missing her girlfriend. Her classmates had told her that she was insane for staying with her, but Julia had proven her love for April and April loved her dearly. So, she quickly put the naysayers in their place and told them if they didn’t support her relationship that she hardly cared. 

Gazing around her empty room, April thought back to Jesse’s words and smiled slightly. Poor Rose. She hadn’t thought about the fact that Kailey would barely be in the room, but at least, Rose had a place to stay if need be. Getting a few of her things together, April left her room, slipping her room key into her back pocket as she headed for her girlfriend’s room. Humming quietly to herself, she practically skipped down the hall, waving to the few people she saw. As soon as she reached the door, she took a deep breath and then knocked on the door rhythmically. “Open up!”

As soon as the Former Knight of Ronan’s punishment was finally lifted, Julia went straight to see her family first. The last time she had seen them was at the sentencing or whatever they were calling it. She was not sure what they would say to her and she deeply worried about their reactions to her being home. Luckily, it turned out it they simply cared about her and had nothing to be worried about. She had spent the entire week after her release with them before she finally opened up about her experience at Spellbound. She told them that she had met someone at Spellbound that she ended up caring about greatly. It had gone over well, but now they wanted to meet April. 

That being said, she had yet to tell her girlfriend about the news and figured that she’d spring the news on her when she saw her in person. After making plans with her girl, she asked Rose if she would be willing to switch for the night. Once Rose agreed, she immediately sprung herself on the redhead, wrapping her arms tightly around her for an impromptu hug before collecting herself. Everything had been going great until someone had caused her to drop her belongings. Before she could petrify the poor boy, Benjamin had walked over and eventually offered to help her carry the things to her room. 

Waving him goodbye, Julia got to work on making the room more romantic feeling. She was so excited to see her girl, she felt like she could cry. I better not fucking cry. Talk about embarrassing. As soon as she heard the knock on her door, her heart skipped a beat. Composing herself, she practically ran towards the door and opened it.  "April....." She whispered, pulling the girl in for a hug. "I missed you."

That’s probably the only bonus to this year. I mean, you three are back. There had to be one good thing this year.

Only three? I guess some people didn’t make the cut. Not that I care, as long as I’m one of the three. We both know that out of us all, I am the most interesting.

I wouldn’t call it desperation. More a distraction. Yeah, like that’s so easy. I could deal with her if she would lay off the fucking hostility. I don’t actually need to start drinking this early. Funny you should say that because I just made plans to do just that.

I am totally psychic and I am going to be claiming that as one of my abilities now. But on a more serious note, who is this Mortal anyways? And ooh, I guess instead of drinking, you could’ve just gone and faced Lawson. That would probably be more fun.

Should I be? Not going to lie, but some of you guys are….strange. And I’m okay with that. I’m open to all kinds of humans, but like…. I don’t know. It’s kind of unnerving. 

Should you be scared? I don’t know. I mean, what’s the vibe you get from me? I can tell you what kind of vibe I get from you. I’m pretty good at reading people. The sentence you just said to me made me realize that you’re slightly awkward, weird, and scared of girls that carry around knives. But regardless of that, you don’t look completely terrible.

So you’re going to be with April for a while then. Not that it matters to me or not, but I just plan to avoid that part of the hotel until you two are done.

Eliza! Wow, you’re actually speaking to me. You must be desperate. A little birdie told me that you’re having issues with your roommate? I have a suggestion! Put her to sleep or something with your magic. I bet you thought I was going to tell you to kill her. But on an actual more serious note, go spend time with your friends and avoid the Mortal.

I wasn’t exactly thanking you, but I do have to say it was a little less boring.

Oh yeah, you were thanking me. It’s okay, I can read between the lies. But this upcoming year shouldn’t be too bad. I mean, look at all of the Mortals walking around that we get to play with.
