This has been my main knitting WIP since May. I should be finished soon, just need to weave in the ends and sew up the sides.
It is knitted in 16ply Elixir from Bendigo Woollen Mills in most of the colours. I used a chart from a Jenny Kee pattern and transposed it to a pattern that worked with my yarn. It weighs almost 1900 grams.
I love it.

It doesn’t look that exciting, but this linen is from the New Kingdom (ca. 1492–1473 B.C.)
Thinking about it for too long makes me feel absolutely insane.

I came across a graphic from a witchy page that has me asking... questions.
Tumblr media
So like its clear that its advocating for natural fibers, which im all for. Like if my wardrobe could be 100% natural fibers i would be so happy- they breathe better and dont trap sweat, take less time to break down in a landfill- which are reasons enough to advocate for natural fibers where applicable.
The... 'frequency' angle is uhhh... new.
I have questions.
1. How is this being tested?
2. Why is 'high-frequency' more valuable than 'low-frequency?' Like, I feel like a zero-hz item would be like... neutral, unless its implied that a 0hz item would like... leech your own hz.
3. On that note, are we using all of these terms properly? Is 'toxic' really the word?
4. Is this hz/sqft or some other measurement? What if i covered myself head to toe in linen, would I max out on frequency and become a being of pure light?
I find the 'vibrational frequency' aspect of new age stuff very frustrating because its not really explained to me in a way that makes much sense to me other than "high good, low bad" and its often tied up in angels, aliens, and atlantis- which i dont find to be... productive conversations in my practice.
Like for context, my experience with 'high vibe/ low vibe' people is theyre using it to either insult you subtly or get you to buy their books or oils or a chunk of resin disguised as a rock. I rarely encounter people who have like... thoughts about it.

Once I was three margaritas deep to the wind at a beach club in Cozumel on my “day off” (in quotes because I’m always lookin n lurkin), and I saw a Pygmy raccoon grabbing an enchilada or something from an unsecured garbage bin and I was so upset. SO upset. And I’m just sitting there in my beach chair next to him (I deliberately choose to sit near the garbage) like “Hello? Sir? Do you know you’re endangered? Dont eat that!” And there were some other tourists who were now looking at me funny and I was MORTIFIED. So embarrassed. Because, and I quote, “I’m an idiot. He doesn’t speak English.” And then turned back to the raccoon and desperately went “Señor Mapache! Sabe que está en peligro de extinción? No coma!” In my very southern accent a la Peggy Hill.
Anyway, here is a picture of him I drew.

It turns out that yesterday was my 15th anniversary on Tumblr, so I decided to share something here.
Very happy to say that after finishing all the sewing, I'm back to my beloved project and just 1/4 away from completing it!

huge fan of the depth of a good purple but another area that draws me is definitely around aquamarine/turquoise/seafoam. you can not go wrong once the green starts getting just a tinge more blue. a gal could certainly do worse than to pull over there and stay a while
