Thoughts on Fence Breakthrough: Game Changer

I'm a bit behind the times with this one, but I eventually managed to do a writeup. Another round and another Kings Row victory and story lines are beginning to wrap up. This time around, I don't have as much to say as the focus this time around was almost entirely between Nicholas Cox and Kyle Allen. I'm not sorry to see Lowther Hall defeated, but I am pleased by the growth I've seen from some surprising sources.
1. Kyle has finally tasted defeat against Nicholas and found out the hard way that no one likes a braggart. I'm not surprised his own teammates turned on him nor was I surprised he would be on the receiving end of the wrath of other teams. I'm glad to see some honesty from him in how he's always secretly competing against his cousin Jesse Coste.
2. Nicholas is proving that he doesn't hold grudges and is quickly getting where he needs to be to successfully win in the tournament. Who he is or is not related to won't matter in the end. Only by maintaining his focus and determination will Kings Row achieve victory into the final round. Nicholas may have a harder time as he's no longer being written off as "Zero" anymore. Whether or not they win it all against Exton remains to be seen, but I have no doubt MLS and Halverton will be going down in future issues.
3. I suspect Aiden Kane is getting close to uncovering Nicholas's deepest secret especially with the presence of Nicholas's father in the audience. The drama around this secret has always been one of the most interesting aspects of the Fence series. Bobby Rodriguez already knows, and I still suspect Coach Williams may know. Seiji Katayama's reaction may still prove to be the most interesting.
4. It is quite clear Robert Coste at least knew about Nicholas's existence even if he doesn't recognize his son in person and possibly even by name (though that is debatable). I have no doubt everyone will know who Nicholas is by the end of the final match, but it may no longer matter to Nicholas as he has only himself and his team to thank for his success.
