hello folks, i’ve been putting off making this post for a while in the hopes that something would change but i simply don’t think it’s going to happen. so.

SPHLVRAI is officially going on an indefinite hiatus.

i’m really sad to be saying at least a temporary goodbye to this project, as it’s something that brought me so much joy and creativity in its prime. however, i have a few reasons that i need to stop, or at least take a good long break. for one, i am no longer hyperfixating on hlvrai or spm, so creating content for them right now is more difficult and doesnt bring me the same joy it used to. i have also been struggling a lot with my first year of college, so i haven’t been creating much at all lately.

finally, and possibly the most prevalent reason, is that the hlvrai fandom is just...unbelievably hostile. it is extremely volatile and filled with a lot of people who are addicted to being outraged after spending too long interacting with strangers on the internet. it has gotten to the point where a lot of people want to be unreasonably rude and angry at people without having to feel bad for their own behavior. it’s too easy to forget the humanity of other people on the internet and turn to using them as punching bags, and the hlvrai fandom has encouraged that tendency within itself to a near unbearable level. i simply do not feel comfortable posting hlvrai-related content anymore.

with that said, i do want to thank everyone who followed or participated in the blog. the time when sphlvrai was active was one of the most fun, exciting, and creatively fulfilling periods i’ve had in a while, and i made a lot of art and music i am still proud of to this day. you have all been incredibly kind, and i couldn’t have asked for a better audience.

i apologize again for having to cut this story short. perhaps someday when things are calmer and i feel more comfortable. in the meantime, you can continue keeping up with me on my tumblr, @nbmudkip, as well as my twitch, nbmudkip, and my youtube, nbmudkip.

i wish you all the very best, and hope that we meet again soon on the road ahead.

[ hello everyone, i have a bit of a sad announcement to make. ]

[ if you follow me on my main blog, you may already know this. my family owns six parrots, all of which we love and treasure immensely. however, due to an unfortunate accident, today our two least socialized birds, rexy and sadie, flew outside the house in a panic. we tried to coax them down out of nearby trees for hours, but eventually they ended up flying out of our sight and earshot, and we were unable to find them again. it’s unlikely that they’ll survive long in the wild, seeing as they were raised in captivity and are native to a far different climate than the one we live in, and even if they are rescued, we will likely never see them again. ]

[ my family and i are heartbroken. sadie is the bird that we’ve had the longest, and rexy is her loving mate, and knowing we will never get to see them again, even in the best case scenario, is crushing. parrots are highly intelligent creatures with the capacity for complex emotional relationships and even speech, and losing them is like losing two family members in one go. between classes for university having just started up and the fact that i’m now going to be dealing with processing my grief, i’m unsure of when i will be able to continue updating sphlvrai. i’ll be taking a hiatus for at the very least a week, most likely longer, in order to sort myself out. ]

[ i ask that you keep sadie, rexy, and my family in your thoughts and well wishes, and that you forgive the upcoming delay in updates. i will be returning to work on sphlvrai as soon as i feel i am able to handle my more intensive hobbies, as running sphlvrai honestly improves my mood and stability, but i don’t think i can handle the stress in this state. i’ll likely be sticking exclusively to twitch streaming, which can be found on my channel @ nbmudkip, until i’m in a better place. ]

[ again, sorry for the sadder tone of this announcement, and for the delay in updates. i’ll be continuing to answer ooc asks and reblog any fanworks for sphlvrai that are posted during this break. thank you all for reading, and i look forward to sphlvrai’s return. ]

Thank you so much for 250 followers!

Pardon the cliché speech, but back when I was coming up with the very first hints of this AU, I could never have imagined that it would grow into something so extensive and special to me—let alone that so many other people would enjoy it. Between the big surge of HLVRAI-based askblogs going up all around the same time and the fact that Super Paper Mario is not an especially popular game, I was honestly fully expecting the blog to flop, and content with keeping SPHLVRAI as my own little thing forever. I was thrilled when, right from the beginning, people actually showed interest in the story. I couldn’t believe how much attention the blog got, even when the only thing posted was the trailer. I was just overwhelmed with joy. Honestly, I still am.

I know that to many people, 250 may not seem like much of a milestone, but this blog has already managed to exceed my expectations, and the story’s barely over a quarter told. Every kind and supportive message I get, every new signature anon that pops up, every time someone tells me I made them laugh or cry or anything at all...knowing that people are out there enjoying this story I’ve put so much into, it just makes my heart soar. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without the incredible support, encouragement, and love I receive from my audience, and I treasure each and every one of you more than you know. I hope I can continue making something special for you all to enjoy!

Thanks again for helping me come this far, and here’s to 250 more!

Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely adore this blog. It’s super cute and funny, and you describe things in a way that makes them easy to understand even for those unfamiliar with spm. And, damn, you really capture the characters’ voices well! Although..... :/// you reminded me about starfy and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since lol.
