For me, it's the fact that they had Peter Parker make a deal with the actual devil. SPIDER-MAN made a DEAL WITH THE DEVIL. To save one person. That's not Spider-Man, that's not great responsibility. It goes against any growth of his character, and he'd already lost Aunt May once before this!

It's been a few days and I'm still obsessed with how, no matter what, I would have found Player 333's arc interesting and right for the character. Whether he went the direction I was expecting or the way he did go

Spoilers below.

I was definitely fooled into thinking that Jun-hee's death, especially after his betrayal of her during Hide and Seek, was going to make a lasting impact and turn him away from the path Nam-gyu set him on.

It was so interesting to see both Gi-hun and one of the soldiers care for the baby, while Myung-gi just kept looking over at them. How he divorced himself enough from the situation that the other players (including Gi-hun) didn't realise he was the baby's father, even when Thanos and Nam-gyu had worked it out earlier.

When we got to Sky Squid Game, I really thought Myung-gi was starting to regret what he'd done. That he was planning for a way to get himself AND the baby out of there. Then he switched sides and I thought this was it, he was going to work with Gi-hun and they would eliminate the others so they could win the money.

And then he turns on not just the other players, but also Gi-hun, and then his own child. And it still felt perfect.

The entire arc he had was done so well, I just wish we'd spent some more time with him earlier on.

Also, with the child cast of HBO’s Harry Potter now revealed, we’ve got to be VERY careful.

Any attacks on these actors is only going to justify JK’s anti-trans ideology as she’ll rewrite any online bullying towards these kids as predatory actions under trans ideology. She’s got the government on her side, so don’t think she won’t go further; maybe advocating for a complete ban of trans-positive ideology from the internet in disguise as ‘protecting children from online hate’.

So please, even though it’s all unfair and disgusting and we’re all mad, DON’T go on the offensive. It didn’t work before. We need to be smart about it this time around.
