i noticed i hadn’t drawn avery yet (which is wild considering he’s my avatar and everything)…i was fixated on him for such a long time and honestly? i still love him so much u _ u

Avery Headcanons, including my personal excuses to write hurt/comfort about him.

He has a fear of heights that he’s slowly getting over.

His family includes two older siblings; a sister and a brother. To say their relationship is strained is putting it nicely. His sister inherited their parent’s tendency to yell at people (mostly him) and his brother likes to use his powers to intimidate him. This is part of why he had that nasty habit of levitating the people he lost to. It was only after he joined the Dojo that he realized that kind of behavior wasn’t normal or acceptable..

He likes black coffee.  

In the game, Ms. Honey mentioned he often has requests, but she knows the fact that he feels safe enough to ask anything of them at all is because he trusts them not to belittle him for asking.

The only parental instincts he has are directed at his Slowpoke. He loves his lil babies.

He’s a lot nicer to Pokemon than he is to people. Even at his worst, he was never mean to Pokemon.

After his encounter with the player, he starts working on getting rid of the pompous jerk façade.

starting off, oh my lord he sucks at romance. he probably doesnt even understand that he has a crush on you and is more of just, “wow i want to beat them more than i did before and my heart races around them and sometimes i think about things like holding their hand and stuff. wow. how strange.” and he doesnt even question it

sadly for you, that means you have to confess. and confessing to him is probably another thing, this mess of a man immediately sees it as an ego boost and not a romantic thing. “HAHA. YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH ME. I WIN...... WAIT” and then he gets really red and probably runs away.. because he’s dumb.

after that though, everything’d click and he’d probably go over the top with a confession, “my dearest beloved y/n, you are the one i have chosen to date. you should be honored that i want to date you. i would like to date you now” and stupid shit like that. just being way too over the top and full of himself and not understanding HOW TO BE NORMAL. god i love him. 

he’d probably not be able to initiate things at first, even a hand hold. he’d be super nervous, but once you hold his hand he feels really good and starts to do it on his own. he especially likes to give you little kisses on your head when you’re training in front of someone, he likes to see your reactions and makes a little game out of it, trying to see how red he can make you. if you do it back to him, though, it’s going to be a whole endeavor and he will lose his mind. babbling and red, really adorable.

i think he’s probably touch starved, so hugs and cuddles are new to him but not unwelcome. he’ll probably ask you to hold him a little longer and just sit there with you. he likes cuddling a lot. and bonus with being an esper is he can float over a drink or something without you having to move. how thoughtful. 

he likes playing with hair a lot, specifically his LMAO. play with his hair and he will melt. put it up in a ponytail or braid it? he’s gone.

also, when you start dating he probably starts opening up more and becoming more vulnerable and less of his full of himself persona, he starts to talk about his past involving his gym and stuff and you help him come to terms with it. very cute stuff. he is a baby
