my favorite trope is when someone believes they’re hard to love and someone who loves them like it’s breathing.
#ava x deborah#hacks#their whole dynamic is deb thinking she's hard to love and ava loving her anyway#meanwhile ava's always felt invisible but deb really sees her and listens to everything she says

Hacks fanworks for a good cause
It's Fandom Trumps Hate season again, Hacks hive! Fandom Trumps Hate is a fanworks auction that raises money for progressive nonprofits. Over the past six years, FTH has raised over $190,000 for a whole bunch of amazing organizations -- and for the past two years, Hacks fandom has been a part of that. So let's do it again!

How does this work?
You can participate in the auction as either a creator or a bidder. (Or both!) Creators offer to write, vid, make gifs, &c in response to a prompt from another fan. Other fans bid (competitively!) for the chance to prompt those creators, and the winning bidder donates the amount they've pledged to one (or more) of the nonprofits we're supporting this year.
Creators will have a chance to explain what they're most excited to do (and least willing to do), and bidders will have a chance to peruse all of the fanwork offers for a couple of days before bidding starts.
You can find the full 2023 auction calendar here, and the Fandom Trumps Hate FAQ here, but in brief:
creator signups run from Feb 6th-Feb 19th.
bidding runs from March 1st-March 5th.
why should I get involved?
More fanworks!
If you've got a great idea for a story about how Ava copes with being fired, or if you want to ask your favorite vidder for an Avorah vid set to that one perfect song, this is your chance to get it out into the world without having to make it yourself!
2. Supporting great causes!
If you think abortion should be safe and legal, or that people living on Navajo reservations deserve access to clean drinking water, or that we should be protecting our environment and its ecosystems,or that LBGTQ+ people deserve to live safely and without fear, then we can connect you with terrific grassroots organizations that sorely need financial support. We're supporting a bunch of great organizations, all of them with close community ties and small operating budgets.
3. Finding your perfect collaborator.
One of the coolest parts of FTH is connecting with other fans: someone to help you develop a routine, figure out a punchline, or else just brainstorm and squee. Lots of people have ended up with longstanding creative partnerships by bidding on (or being bid on by) someone they don't know beforehand. It could happen to you too!
Please boost to help spread the word around -- even if you're not sure you're into it, some of your followers probably will be! And if you think you might be into it yourself, give @fandomtrumpshate a follow so you don't miss out.
