Don’t Fear Your Spiritual Connection

I was listening to another medium's Instagram live the other day and he was talking about how a woman came into the goods shop he owns (not a spiritual shop) and said to him "You know, you have a ghost in here." This medium responded with just a "Mmm...okay."

The reason he was less than enthused with the woman's observation is because she wasn't necessarily picking up on a ghost but actually his spirit guide who, perhaps, in her feeling felt like a ghost. As she left, his spirit guide said to him "Who is she calling a ghost?"

This story got me thinking about how mediums and those of us who are sensitive to spirit are all at different levels of experience and belief, which can make it so confusing for a newbie who wants to learn more or even a person who is looking for a medium to work with. 

It also made me remember when I went to an intuitive friend to ask about the male presence I felt standing near my bedroom window every night. She came over, stood in my bedroom, and proceeded to tell me this man was stuck in the dark on the outside of the window and wanted to come in. She told me to not let him in, salt each opening of my apartment (windows and doors), and set a vial of salt water in my bedroom. The salt is to prevent "negative" spirits from entering one's domain.

She also told me that I had a spirit portal in my living room and that's why there was so much activity.I did as she told me to. I had no other idea of what to do. 

Frankly, the male presence freaked me out because I did not know what or who it was.This was twenty years ago. I now know it was Z (my spirit guardian) standing protectively by my bed every night. My own ignorance of spirit and who I was as a soul made me fearful. I then projected that fear onto anything "supernatural" that happened around me.

Z and I can laugh about this now but I know so many people who are like I was, afraid of what they are experiencing and cannot explain it.

My friend wasn't entirely wrong about what she picked up on. She just misplaced her own beliefs and fear upon what she intuitively felt. She was right - Z was metaphorically on the outside of a window and wanted to get in. He was waiting patiently for me to wake up and see him for the beautiful spirit he is.

She was also right about the portal. I now know that mediums and healers like myself all have portals. We ARE portals. There is no need to salt our homes or close down portals. We need to learn how to manage the energy and our own abilities. 

When a person comes to me with similar stories as mine, I immediately have so much compassion and understanding because it is scary! I love to see the look on their faces change from fear to relief as they learn that there's nothing to be afraid of -- that many of these so-called "paranormal" experiences happening around them are their own spirit team just trying to say hello and tell them they are safe and loved.

I really wish there was an actual Hogwarts-type school for us. We need to know right in childhood what we are and what is happening to us. Have you had a similar experience as mine? Please share, I would love to hear it.
