Sarah Brightman as Blind Mag in Repo! the Genetic Opera. Brightman's career has been extremely varied, her first musical releases were disco singles, she was the first to portray Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, and later retired from the stage to focus on music, becoming the world's best-selling soprano.

We were all extremely lucky to see someone with her experience and already well-established musical career playing this particular character in this particular film, something I doubt anyone would have anticipated for her first foray into film.
