another blurb no one asked for. also, if you think this is anything other than wish fulfillment you are incorrect.

you have this shirt that he really likes. you can’t remember exactly where you got it. maybe a hand-me-down from a friend? maybe a thrift store? you can’t be sure, and you suppose it doesn’t really matter. 

the shirt is blue, about two sizes too big, and hangs on your body like a drape. it falls past your hips and grazes the tops of your thighs; it’s flowy and unstructured and well-worn into soft comfort. you don’t wear it out. it’s just a home shirt, a sleep shirt, something you wear on laundry day. he likes it, though, and always makes a point to say so.

sometimes he verbally tells you. you’ll walk into the room, sans trousers because everything’s in the wash, basket of clothes on your hip, and he’ll pause whatever he’s doing. he’ll look up, meet your eyes first, then run his gaze over your body, and his perusal makes you want to squirm in the best way. 

he nods to your shirt. “i like that top,” he says.

“i know.” you drop the basket on the couch and reach for an article of clothing. 

“makes your tits look good.”

you just laugh. “i know.”

other times, he doesn’t vocalize his fondness. maybe it’s on an evening when you’ve both opted to say in. the coffee table is littered with remnants of your take-out dinner, and the tv screen flickers with a quiet film. you’re snuggled against him on the couch, nearing the edge of sleep, when you feel his hand slip under the hem of your shirt—that shirt—and run across your stomach. his lips are soon on your neck, his other hand working the shoulder of your top lower and lower. you don’t say anything, just roll over and hum with approval as he pushes your shirt futher up and makes you feel a whole lot better than you did five minutes ago.

at some point, you consider throwing the shirt away. it’s old and really not that attractive, but when you casually mention tossing it, he’s reaction startles you. he practically jumps from his spot on the side of the bed, tying his shoes for the day.

“no, don’t!” he sounds frantic, and it makes your eyes bulge. clearing his throat, he shrugs. “i like it.”

you give a huff of laughter. “clearly!”

he blushes, his hand rising to rub the back of his neck. “just… just don’t get rid of it, okay?”

you relent with a sigh and a kiss to his cheek—and wear it that evening after he comes home from a meeting.
