Yakuza Kiwami did the impossible

Heyyyyyyy, so... Remember that post of mine a while back about how Persona 5 Royal almost made me cry? Well, a few weeks back, the unthinkable happened. I cried over a video game. And that game was none other than Yakuza Kiwami.

I'm sorry but, the final few chapters fucking killed me. I somehow teared up on 3 different occasions. First, during Kazama's death scene. That last bit with Kiryu swearing Kazama will always be his father hit me, man. Nishiki's sacrifice may have hit me harder. I loved the relationship between Kiryu and Nishiki during Y0 and YK's opening chapter, so seeing it culminate with THAT just crushed me. Not as bad, but the post credits with Kiryu and Haruka going on to finally live a normal life (Or so they think) got to me. Just, damn. What a fucking game.

I think Yakuza 0 was indeed better, but nonetheless, I can safely say both games are 10/10 experiences in my eyes. Go play em if you haven't.

Marnie is boring ngl

Hoo boy hot take time. I know Marnie is the favorite of the gen 8 rivals and all, but man, what does the Pokemon community see in her? Please, tell me. She's a boring, blank slate, and the 2 other rivals, and hell even her brother are miles better. Hop is a generally relatable character, and Bede is just an asshat I love him, but Marnie. What does she have?

The other day, I learned that Rayquaza was going to be in the Detective Pikachu film at one point. Just, think about that. God damn Rayquaza. Look at this thing. LOOK AT IT. I'm so mad we didn't get to see it, it would have been so cool, man.

Free multiplayer, paid story: What's the deal?

A recent trend that I, and likely you as well have noticed in gaming is releasing the main story and multiplayer separately, but making the story paid and multiplayer free. But, here's the question: Why? I get it's a way to make more money and all but, wouldn't it make more sense to keep things how it was, bundle them both together so it's more convenient? Maybe I'm just dumb, I don't know, but it's so strange to me regardless.

Persona 5 Royal is the only game that has made me almost cry.

I'm not done with the game yet, but man. Futaba's palace. I did it a week ago or so but dude, it just hits hard. The themes of loss, guilt, and regret, they all resonate hard with me. Just last month, my dog passed away. I can't help but feel guilty. I don't think I spent nearly as much time as I should have with her, despite what everyone tells me, and I can't help but just, feel terrible. Seeing a character in the game I'm playing going through a similar, yet more severe situation, it made me feel things. Plus, separated from my real life experiences, the tones, themes, imagery, and audio of the palace all kept making me almost cry. I can relate so heavily to some of Futaba's troubles, and it made it such an interesting palace to play through. It all almost me end up ugly sobbing. Fantastic game, man.

The most wack dream of my life.

Ok, so. It was a few months after Stranger things season 4 vol 2 came out. The Dream was the entirety of season 5, except, something was different. Hopper was replaced by... Kazuma Kiryu. It was like nothing had changed, everyone treated him like he had been in Hopper's place the entire time, and he fought off several demogorgons at once, and eventually, passed away from old age. He wasn't even live action either, he was computer generated. It was so surreal.

Hisuian Pokemon and extinction

Ok, random thought. Hisuian form Pokemon are supposed to be "ancient Pokemon" or whatnot, right? Living in ancient Sinnoh, not present anywhere else in the Pokemon world. But then, let's take a look at Scarlet and Violet. Hisuian Pokemon are transferable now, implying they are not extinct. But, if they aren't extinct, where are they even? Think we'll ever get an answer, or will it be one of those random things in Pokemon with no explanation?
