‼️! ! ! HAPPY FRIEND-NIVERSARY @wsbhonni :33 ! ! ! ‼️

Jesse calls Preston "Tony Pizza". Because... Prest-ton-y. Preston's Italian so pizza comes into Jesse's mind. Jesse pestered Preston with that nickname throughout college, but rarely uses it anymore after they "broke up". But sometimes whenever he texts Spann or other employees, he'd accidentally refer to Preston as "Tony" and would give them a headache over who tf is Tony. Jesse has to correct himself but doesn't care to elaborate further. Spann figured out who this "Tony" is, but the other employees are still speculating about this mysterious "Tony". Preston fucking hated being called that name at first, but he hates it even more when he eventually mindlessly turn when someone says "Tony" near him. --
Preston gets drunk weekly, on Saturday nights. No matter where he is, if it's a Saturday night, he's at least getting slightly drunk. . . Jesse is first on his numbers list to pick him home of course. Jesse takes Preston home because this shit became their tradition. Why is he even bothering to follow this stupid tradition in the first place? Well certainly not because he can't imagine anyone else doing it. --
Same situation with Preston's insistance to do everything when Jesse plans anything big. Since Preston is the first to be on the scene when Jesse got his face smashed, it'd be reasonable to assume Preston is kind of a right-hand-man to him (also Preston's office is fucking big, so that gotta mean something). So whenever Jesse commands anything that comes to "set up a playground", backup plans, or business decisions,... Preston automatically takes up the job because he doesn't trust anyone else to do it. He knows what Jesse wants, and he has been doing this for the longest, so it's obvious that should always choose him right? Ahaha- --
Even when they're not as close anymore ( despise/resent each other even ), they still have access to eachother's homes. Jesse can just waltz into Preston's house as much as Preston can open Jesse's wardrobe. Same thing with seeing the other nude. You would not believe the amount of times Jesse breaks into Preston's bedroom on a Sunday morning just to goad the guy into doing shit for him, hungover or not. -- ♥ [While-dating/ After Preston faked his death and Jesse found out and had to travel to Italy just to apologize for a month straight] :
No one could really believe that they are dating from the outside. They're just the couple who's been dating for months but barely anyone caught onto it until they explicitly admit to it. --
Probably because Preston likes to keep it professional at work, while Jesse's more spontaneous about his feelings. When they're not at work, whatever they do in public just feels like they're buddies hanging out (until one kiss the other). It gets sloppy and cheesy when they're alone though. --
Makes up for lost time by being attached by the hip. They're following eachother around. Jesse's visiting Preston's office every 2 hours idc --
On the contrary of popular beliefs, Jesse WOULD let Preston be the big spoon from time to time. It's also an opportunity for him to turn around and listen to Preston breathing, just to make sure he's alive. Jesse still has nightmares about killing Preston every few months. --
They take turns having sleep-overs at each other's homes. Jesse has some clothes in Preston's closet, and vice cersa. Though Jesse abducts Preston to his mansion more often. The employees are too scared to question why they arrive and leave work in the same car with one another anyway. --
It's also best for the employees not to enter Jesse's or Preston's office without knocking, or press their ears against the doors if they don't want to hear anything weird happening in there. --
Most sexual advances in the work place towards Preston is made by Jesse. Despite liking to keep it professional, Preston still accepts the advances 75% of the time, with the only condition that they HAVE to be alone and quiet. Which means he isn't sucking Jesse off under the table during an online business meeting. Jesse is upset about this --
There's still a lot of tension between them due to the fact that both of them knows: that Jesse is willing to kill Preston under the right circumstances. Preston is reasonably troubled, and Jesse's dealing with the guilt that he is *that* kind of person. Preston got all the right reasons to be insecure about their relationship and how long it'll last. So he usually requires affirmations and really dislikes secrets. It'll take a long time for him to fully trust Jesse again. Jesse's trying to be less of an ass and making it up to Preston as best he could ig --
Preston keep tracks of their diets and is the main cook, because I do not believe Jesse can cook for the life of him. Eating out at fancy restaurants is only fun when you start to reach the age where gout and fatty liver will be more likely ruin your joy and whimsy. They *can* just hire a private chef, but Preston does not trust anyone to make Italian dishes besides himself, members of his family, or that one specific Italian-American chef who's retired and is already on her deathbed. --
They plan to retire in Italy later in life.

A collection of my Asa Emory headcanons
[PART 3!!]: How he is (how Asa's doing mentally/ how that affects him)
PART 1 ; PART 2;
Next part: What the fuck is wrong with him ( why is Asa this way/ his past ) Next next part: Asa and friends :) (Asa & his collection lmao ) Even next-er part: Toxic yaoi!!! ( Asa's relationship with Arkin ) RULE OF THUMB: Asa is autistic, idk why, he's just is to me.
---*Cracks Asa's skull open and look inside with a microscope* / How Asa is doing mentally--
Autistic, but undiagnosed. I think he already *knows* he's autistic. So he didn't see a purpose in going to a professional just to get the same results. Also having the diagnosis in his goverment information might put him in a disadvantage- whenever he wants to find a new job, or get medical treatment. Also he def doesn't want people to infantialize him. --
Emotionally stunted. Asa doesn't process his traumas well. Idk apparently witnessing ur entire family gets murdered by your mildly-abusive dad fucks you up or something --
Anger. Idk how to tell you guys this but to me.. TO ME... Asa is this big ball of repressed anger and rage and pent up energy that is just BEGGING to be let out. But Asa is like "oh im so sophisticated and calm" that he fails to realize all that rage has transformed into something else entirely. It's all that anger coming out in the guise of "self-expression" and combined with his fucked up perception of Art (the Collection) And I think that's part of why Asa enjoys what he does so much. He's like a kettle with freshly boiled water. He may looks cool and clean and well put together, but if you lay a finger on that steel surface you're gonna instinctively recoil. And if you decided to put your finger into the water you're gonna get 3rd degree burns. Because of it, Asa gonna crash out so hard.. all that anger being poured out all at once onto the cold floor. Not knowing that the only reason why it stays hot for so long is bc they were trapped inside the kettle and- around each other. Once they're all splattered on the floor, they cool down pretty fast. The first few moments of the spillage are gonna be disastrous, you better not be in the splatzone, but then it's gonna end up with Asa on the floor sobbing but not knowing why he's crying. --
In denial over his problems. Asa simply convinces himself that he's "over" his traumas. He "got over" it. He's "not dwelling" on it anymore. And that he's "perfectly fine" (Note: he isn't) Ah yes, trauma can fuck a person up very badly- Asa read. But nooo he's different, he's not like *other* people. His trauma barely affects him at all <3 Asa just refuses to acknowledge that his traumas have affected him in ways he never realized. By suppressing them, their effects on him just slowly gets worse and worse and worse.... And Asa tries to rationalize them by other means: logic, mental gymnastics,... whatever. He's not being emotional and *weak* over it like *other people* ahahaha- But when things slows down, and he lets the thoughts of what he has been through walk around in his mind, I do think Asa does feel something that is... uncomfortable. He can't keep them in a bottle forever and he knows it. Unfortunately Asa doesn't know that they're even in a bottle. It is made of glass anyway. --
Insecure about his image, his hobbies, his domesticity Asa is a fucking loser in my mind. He's such a loser oh my godddd he fucks up ordering takeouts through the phone like 3 times in a row. he falls flat on his face when he wears non-grip socks on wooden floors. And Asa fucking knows it. His Collection and the shit he does at the hotel is like a power trip to him- Yes Asa is meticulous, careful, strict and mysterious and cold and uptight and all that.... but those traits are as much part of Asa's personality as they are apart of his fabricated image. They are real, of course, but he only loves them so much because of what they can do for him. Asa isn't particularly favorful of other aspects of his personality however... Asa knows that: outside of his Collector hobbies, he's boring as fuck. He lives like an old man that yells at the kids to get off his lawn. He barely attends any events in his neighborhood; Even when he does, he just says hi to the host so they'd know he atteneded, then he goes home. Any fuckass events that don't cater to his interests, Asa only goes there to show some face. If he can, he'd go to bed at 9pm and content with eating the same meals every day. It's almost like he's unsure if people would like him when he's not *the image the built for himself*. To a point that it feels shameful to do the domestic things he likes in the privacy of his own home. He loves being domestic and watch bad TV shows while eating dinner on his couch; what were supposed to be super mundane and normal things people enjoy, feel like guilty pleasures to him to an extent. He's so insecure about his image (hence why he tries so hard to keep one that he *thinks* is him) blah blah blah... toxic masculinity, repression, depression, lack of a support system. --
Identifies as his killer persona and puts it as more important than other aspects of himself. See reasoning above. --
In conflict with what he wants in life. Which leads to frustration, which adds more water to the boiling kettle. I think Asa embraces the worst of himself while reluctantly includes the other aspects, but refuses to let go of any of them. He can't bring himself to accept both, yet he desires both goals: His collection, and the dreams his domestic-self strive for. Theoretically, he can achive both with some lies and deceit. But risking someone he holds dear & a fairly normal life, to a part of himself he can't seperate from is daunting. And risking his collection because he let his other personal life interfere is also very upsetting. He can't have his cake and eat it too. But be real, the fact that his Collection exists is already proof enough the he chose, and is/ was committed to his killer persona. And now he's having second-thoughts years into the commitment. The grass is always greener on the other side. He can't keep working on his Collection forever, it's either gonna be exposed someday or doomed to obscurity, known by no one but himself. Maybe that's enough for Asa. Maybe the collection is Art for No one. But once it is done, what's left? He had already sacrificed so much to build it, and he'll be spending the rest of his life doing maintenance for it. In order to have his collection complete, is to sacrifice those other parts of himself that he still clings to. And vice versa. It's hard to let go of something you've put so much effort into. It's hard to let go of something that could've been if you chose differently. And it's even harder to accept that because of your decision, what could've been reversible is now impossible to achieve. --
Expressing needs and wants is a reason to be embarassed over apparently. --
Needs help but doesn't want help. (Self explanatory) --
This is who he is. He let this happen. He deserves what he deserves. And nothing can change him nor is it worth "saving" him at all. Because he is both the best and the worst. He is the best when his Collection exists. And he is the worst when his Collection *exists*. And when it is gone, he remains the best because he's the reason it exists, and he's also the worst because he allowed it to exist. He made the decision to have this brain-child, and he must take responsibility for its existence. He loves what he is, and hates it at the same time. --
Conclusion: Asa isn't doing very good.
SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG. I GOT DISTRACTED WITH OTHER PROJECT LMAOAOAOAOA- Next part should be fun though :3c

EXTREMELY LONG RAMBLE ON HOW: Book!Anton has parallels with a Ram & Book!Carson has parallels with a Bloodhound/scent dog
All of the lines I referenced are taken from the physical book: "No Country for Old Men" by Cormac Mccarthy & Published by Picador in the "Picador Collection"
Word count: 3k words
This is an insane rambling with barely any beta readers btw, so any is feedback appreciated. I hope y'all enjoy this :3 -Love, Orange-
Tumblr media
1. Anton
Animalistic traits: - ”He tore strips from a hand towel with his teeth” (pg.7) -“Chigurh opened the plastic package of cashews with his teeth and doled a third part of them into his palm and stood eating” (pg.53) “Chigurh ate another handful of the cashews” (pg.53) “Chigurh poured more cashews into his palm” => There is no indication of him putting down the cashews packet while he ate. He only puts the cashew packet down at: “Chigurh poured the last of the cashews into his palm and wadded the little bag and placed it on the counter” (pg.55) - One can build the image of him tearing things with his teeth and eating from the palm of his hand, like an animal would during that whole time. Of course, he could’ve both used the hand he’s holding the packet to pick up the nuts, but it only states that he “stood eating”- so this is up for interpretation. - ”The car started and pulled off from the gravel apron onto the highway south. The lights never did come on” (pg.57-58) [Context: It was almost dark. Sheeps in general can see in the dark better than humans can, good night vision.- but so does any other predator animal] - “He tore the packet with his teeth..” (pg. 164)  - Employer: “...He killed two other men a couple of days before and those two did happen to be ours. Along with the three at that colossal goatfuck a few days before that. All right?” Carson: “All right. I guess that will do it” Employer: “Good hunting, as we used to say. Once upon a time. In the long ago.” Carson: “Thank you sir. Can I ask you something?” (pg. 141- 142) [I’m not sure if the “good hunting” is the employer referring to Anton’s killings and comparing him to a hunter; or telling Carson to have a good hunt (on Anton). But for the sake of this argument, I am interpreting it as the latter.] => Because Carson replies with “thank you sir” afterwards, it’s safe to assume that the “Good hunting” was directed at him to go… hunt Anton. Indirectly degrades and compares Anton as some sort of prey animal, or an animal in general. => BUT if we take the other interpretation route: Calling Anton killing people as “hunting” doesn’t equate him to a *human* hunter either, as predator animals also *hunt* for their prey. So this “good hunting” can be interpreted as calling Anton either a prey animal, or a predator animal.  - Anton just stands and listens, like an animal standing in the woods listening for either predator to run away from, or prey to hunt. (“Listening” appears 24 times in the book: 10 of them is dedicated to describing Anton’s actions) - (Llwellyn does the same thing, which is interesting)  +“He drove across the bars of the cattle guard and got out and closed the gate again and stood there listening” (pg.58) +“ He reached over into the passenger seat and turned the dial slowly forward and then back, listening” (pg.98)  +“ He stood listening at the door. Then he punched out the lock cylinder with the airgun and kicked open the door”  (pg. 103) +“ When he came back up he stopped and stood listening in the hallway outside his door.” (pg. 172) +“He stood leaning against the door with the shotgun in both hands, listening. He went down the hallway and picked the crushed cylinder out of the floor and put it in his pocket and went on to the elevator and stood listening again” (pg.198) +“He crossed the room and stood at the doorway listening”  (pg. 200) +“He opened the screen door and punched out the cylinder and walked in and shut the door behind him and stood listening” (pg. 203) +“He put the shotgun in the crook of his arm and took out a can of orange soda and opened it with his forefinger and stood drinking it, listening for anything that might follow the metallic click of the can.” (pg. 203) +“ After a while he rose and crossed the room and went up the stairs. He stood listening at the head of the stairwell.” (pg. 203)
Parallels to a ram (male sheep): There are enough parallels to know that Anton is compared to an animal. Both prey and predator. But there was never an exact predator that can be applied to Anton, he’s just IS a predator; and I’d assume most people would think of Anton as such too considering his job. While the imagery comparing Anton to a prey animal, especially the sheep, is more implied. - His main car is literally a RAMcharger. (hehe) -”It was cold out on the barrial and he had no jacket but he didn’t seem to notice” (pg 59-60) [Sheeps can generally withstand the cold to as low as 25F ~ 3.8C. So a little bit of the desert cold won’t bother a ram as much, plus it adds to how *alien* Anton is.] -“When he was done disinfected the wound a final time (…)  and bound them with gauze off of a roll packaged for sheep and goats” (pg. 164)  => ???Like… couldn’t he just steal human bandages? I'm pretty sure a pharmacy would be more likely to have normal bandages than Veterinary wrap. -“Chigurh watched it all without turning or looking”  ” Chigurh lay there pulling back on the bracelets with his knees between his arms and his face averted” (pg.6) => Sheeps can almost see 360 degrees around them without turning their heads. So if this applies to Anton, it’s almost like he can see what’s going on without having to directly look at them. - Anton: “Even a nonbeliever might find it useful to model himself after God” (pg.256) + RELIGION BABYYY. In catholicism, it is believed that Jesus is the son of God. AND WHAT ANIMAL IS TYPICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH JESUS??? THE *LAMB* - A SHEEP. And a Lion. (Isa. 31:4; Hosea 5:14; Rev. 5:5) [Though in Christianity alone, God is associated with only a lion] + Anton explicitly said here that he is an atheist, but he finds it useful to model himself after God, not God’s teachings, but God. I think it shows how… psychopathically egotistic he is, that he is a non-believer and doesn’t see himself as God/ a god- but rather someone who imitates the image of God, then uses it as an excuse to keep his word to murder Carla. Which is also blasphemous as it counts as using God’s name in vain, so Carla was right to call him a blasphemer.  [Does following the image of God give him a sense of superiority over those who don't? Or is it because he models himself after god that it justifies him killing others?] + It is also interesting how the book both gives Anton parallelism to animals but gives him both prey and predator traits. Just like that of the image of God is both a Lamb, and a Lion. => I think by admitting he is an atheist, yet models himself after the image of God due to its *usefulness*, we can assume that Anton’s image is comparable to a sheep, yet his nature isn’t. Sounds corny, but I do think it is a “Wolf in sheep’s clothing” situation. + Eyes: “at once glistening and totally opaque” (pg.56) Eyes are the window to the soul, as they say. But Anton’s eyes are “totally opaque”, as in unable to see anything deeper beside the “glistening” on the surface. Whatever is “glistening” on the surface is purely for aesthetic or to deceive those who only look at him at a glance. But even if they look deeper, they won't find anything.  => Anton “modelling” himself after God, can be interpreted as him masking himself as a “sheep” to blend in, to disguise himself as unassuming as possible to hide his true nature.  => We can see that this “modelling” himself after God also reveals Anton’s predatory nature. Because he uses that as an excuse to explain why he *has to* kill Carla. => If we are talking about this sentence in “Anton’s ideology” route, we can interpret this as Anton using the words/ teaching of God and twisting it to fit his own ideology. (bc y'know… the Bible is largely up to interpretation of those who read it)
No, I don't think Anton is the Antichrist. Anton is unpredictable, yes, but he is not Lawless (A sign of the Antichrist). Like Carson said in the book “You can even say that he has principles. Principles that transcend money or drugs or anything like that”- Anton has principles, and rules that he follows despite how Lawless he might seem to most. - The boy’s confession with Sheriff Ed Tom at the end: This is like, the most descriptive description of how Anton looks like we’re gonna get.
Ed Tom: “On the report you said he was maybe in his late thirties” (pg.289)  Boy: “Not real tall. Sort of medium” (pg. 290) -  “(...) He was kindly dark complected is all” (pg.291) -  “He was medium height. Medium build. Looked like he was in shape. In his mid thirties maybe. Dark hair. Dark brown, I think. I don’t know, sheriff. He looked like anybody.” (pg.292) “(...) He didn’t look like anybody. I mean there was nothing unusual looking about him. But he didn’t look like anybody you’d want to mess with. When he said something you damn sure listened” (pg.292)
=> Anton is literally so unremarkably average and unassuming looking that it was so hard to pinpoint anything special about him, aside from previously mentioned aesthetic traits (hair/eyes colors) BUT there is something unusual or uncanny about him that is hard to point out. Even the color of his skin is ambiguous because it's “kindly dark complected”- it's not that light or that dark either. It’s just kindly leaning to the darker shade. Even Llwellyn described Anton as “faintly exotic”- like he MIGHT be a foreigner, but he also might not be. But leaning to being foreign. =>Anton is so vaguely described, he is so ALIKE with anybody else that from a glance he CAN be anybody else. It’s like… he’s blending into the crowd… like a sheep blending into the flock. (I’m going insane, sorry) =>BUT THINK ABOUT IT. Aren’t Christians all modeling themselves after the teachings of God? So in a way, aren’t they all lambs in God's floc? And God/Jesus is their shepherd. (Jesus’s followers are called and compared to Lambs). Anton, is a non-believer, yet he finds it useful to also model himself after God. And so, his unassuming appearance only helps him blend in with the others easier, to look just like any other sheeps in God’s flock.  =>BUT. There will always be something uncanny about Anton’s appearance that gives it away- that even when Anton looks like anybody, “He didn’t look like anybody” either. Just like how his eyes glisten, but ultimately opaque underneath. Just like how his image will never be following the true words of God, there will always be something that gives it away that he is just a predator in sheep’s clothing. (It’s probably because of all the murders..)
2. Weird comparisons when it comes to Anton & Carson?? (idk lmao i just think it’s funnie)
-Anton* “He placed his hand on the man’s head like a faith healer” (pg.6)
-Carson* “Wells shut the door and stood with his hands crossed before him at the wrist. The way a funeral director might stand” (pg.139)
=> Why are both of them are hitmen, whose job is to KILL people but it’s only *Anton* that’s associated with someone with a positive connotation like a Faith Healer- to heal people’s faith in Christ and/or physical maladies? (which is very ironic bc Anton’s about to kill someone right after this)  While Carson is compared to a funeral director, establishing his connection to death. Carson is *tasked* to kill Anton, but he never seems to have the intention of doing so, rather he seeks out Llwellyn to strike a deal & get the money, instead of going for Anton (probably bc he knows he can’t kill Anton- like Carson said, he himself is a “daytrader”, so I doubt he was planning to kill Anton in the first place). What he primarily did in the book was tracking Llwellyn down via the mess Anton & Llwellyn left behind, following the blood, examining the scene, sniffing around.. y’know, LIKE A DOG-
3. CARSON!!!
Carson being alluded to be a dog: - BEFORE CARSON SHOWS UP OR EVEN MENTIONED AT ALL, there are two mentions of dogs that are used to describe the silence of the environment around Llewellyn and Anton.  + Llewellyn’s: “He closed the bag and redid the fasteners and shoved it under the bed an rose and stood looking out the window at the stars over the rock escarpment to the north of the town. Dead quiet. Not even a dog.” (pg.23) + Anton’s: “ He waited. Then he tapped again. He turned and stood with his back to the trailer and studied the little park. Nothing moved. Not a dog.” (pg.80) - BUT the moment Llwellyn crosses the Mexican border, the *setting* before Llwellyn’s about to meet Carson, the presence of a dog being *there* is suddenly mentioned:  “The Mexican gateshack was just ahead (. . .) Over the low black hills beyond the town. The water moved beneath him slow and dark. A dog somewhere. Silence. Nothing.” (pg.117) - AND when Llwellyn finally meets up with Carson at the hospital, what was the animal that was explicitly mentioned to be completely there before Llewellyn opens his eyes to see Carson?? “ Moss woke in a ward with sheeting (. . .) Dim noises from the street. A motorcycle. A dog. He turned his face on the pillow and looked into the eyes of a man sitting on a metal chair against the wall holding a bouquet of flowers.” (pg.148) => A DOG!!!!!!!!!! COINCIDENCE?? I THINK NOT-
Bloodhound-like traits: -What is a Bloodhound: The Bloodhound is a large scent dog, originally bred in the Middle Ages to track animals during hunts, and people. This breed has the ability to discern human scent over great distances, even days later. It is often used to track escaped prisoners, missing people, and lost pets. (according to Wikipedia) - I want to state that the way Carson ever so patiently sat and waited for Llwellyn to wake up for an hour reminds me of how dogs do. And incredibly alike how a bloodhound would find its target and sat guarding it until its master came to collect it. As bloodhounds have a better instinct to hunt, rather than kill.  + Recall to when the Employer said “Good hunting” ;) - I would also want to mention this line that Carson said to Llwellyn: “You need to throw me a bone” (pg.157) => And istg the only animal you ever throw a bone to is a dog.  -It only took Carson “About three hours” to track Llwellyn down, it shows how good Carson actually is at tracking someone and their shit (the money).  -As the name suggests “Bloodhound”, which is a breed of scent dogs, means that there has to be blood and a lot of sniffing involved right? WELL-  + The first thing Carson did upon reaching the room where Llwellyn stayed at the hotel last night was… Sniffing. Like a scent hound or any dog would do to start tracking something:  “It took him about 15 seconds to get into Moss’s room and he shut the door behind him without disturbing the tape. He leaned against the door and smelled the room.” (pg.146) “The first thing he did was to walk carefully over the carpet (...) He rose and picked up the pillows and smelled them.” (pg.146)  + Carson is also mentioned beforehand to be walking around with only his socks in this scene, similar to how Anton did it to make his walk silent. Hitman stuff ig. And also Bloodhounds are silent while on a trail themselves. +The next stuff Carson started to pay attention to was Blood. Get a whiff and take a look at the tracks. Like a scent dog would do: “ A  bloody towel lay in the floor (...) There was a bloodstained washcloth in the sink (...) Bloody handprints. A bloody handprint on the edge of the shower curtain (...) The pavement has been hosed off but you can still see the bloodstains in the concrete of the walkway where Moss had been shot.” (pg.146) “(...) A cotton robe that was black with dried blood” (pg.147)  +Carson’s sense of smell is also mentioned further into his investigation: “A darkened room. A faint smell of rot.” (pg.147)  +Carson also used Llwellyn’s blood on the pavement to track down the money: “He was standing where Moss had stood four nights ago.” (pg.166) “He studied the blood on the sidewalk. Where it trailed off to nothing (...) Faint outline of a boot print in blood (...)  He studied the chain link fence to see if there might be blood on the wire.” (pg.167)   +Carson takes pictures via his camera while he investigates. Kinda like how a scent dog would form “track pictures” (A “track picture” can consist of many elements: ground, earthy & air, in which includes a lot of other elements like dirt, sweat, skin, plants,...) to lock into a specific track so they follow that track instead of others. In this case, blood.  “ He took a small camera from his jacket pocket and took a couple of pictures of the dead woman…”  (pg.147) “He took out his camera and snapped a picture of the sky, the river, the world.” (pg.167)  I think it's cute.. to headcanon... Carson being into photography a bit.. - Unrelated but, when Anton and Carson were in the room together, Anton said this: “You think you can put it off with your eyes” Carson: “What do you mean?” Anton: “You think that as long as you keep looking at me you can put it off” (pg.176) => AND I CAN’T HELP BUT IMAGINE CARSON GIVING ANTON PUPPY EYES SO ANTON WON’T KILL HIM
Tumblr media
That is all I have. Thank you for reading. I love you if you did so. I do accept feedback as I MIGHT use some of this to add into my uni subject's literature analysis on NCFOM. All of this just to have an excuse to draw Anton with sheep horns and Carson as a dog boy btw... Carson is a dog boy confirmed. Anton is that weird looking sheep standing alone on a field in the middle of the night and staring straight at your camera as you took the picture.
Again, thank you <3 -Orange-

A collection of my Asa Emory headcanons
[PART 2!!]: Who he is (personality)
Yes I am going to mention his *relationship* with "Arkin". Also i had to split this up into more parts bc it's getting long as hell. Next part: How he is ( how Asa's doing mentally and how does that affect him) Next Next part: What the fuck is wrong with him ( why is Asa this way/ his past ) Next next next part: Asa and friends :) (Asa & his collection lmao ) Even next-er part: Toxic yaoi!!! ( Asa's relationship with Arkin )
RULE OF THUMB: Asa is autistic. I do not take criticisms on this.
---Who he is (personality)--- Oh yeah I hc Asa as being around his mid 30s. Around 35 to 38.
Asa lives in his head a lot. The way he views his daily life as a collection of tasks to be done, limits him so much in terms of socialisation. Asa is *stiff*. He expects people to act a certain way, and he-himself has to react accordingly, in order for the current task to complete successfully. So Asa gets extremely disoriented whenever someone deviates from an expected reaction in a situation he's familiar in. He can re-adjust his emotions and the situation of course, but it would tick him off depending on the degree of deviation. --
So based on the trait above, Asa is very self-centered. How does this thing affect him? How does this benefit him? How does this thing relate to him? etc etc.... Asa thinks of himself first. He won't make every conversation about himself though, because people doesn't like that- he learned that the hard way, and sometimes he needs certain people to like him :) --
He's pretty boring in his daily life lmaooo- most people who tried to get to know him said so anyway. Not everyone can withstand Asa rambling about insects and spiders for an hour straight. Even Asa's routine sounds so boringgnghghggngh. --
Very reserved. --
Talks to himself. But not a lot. Just some comments or expression he needs to get out of his mouth after he stayed quiet for too long. Or maybe he's just stimming. --
Prefers solitude. --
Guarded. He doesn't let people in very easily. The initial nice-ness is just socially-acceptable behaviour he picked up. Avoids talking about himself, and would rather let the other pary talk whatever. But due to this, some would assume Asa is actually interested in them/ interested in being friends. --
Asa would only talk to someone IF they decided to talk to him. The only window that allows an initiative to talk to Asa is when he's commenting, criticising, explaining, or needing something from the other person(s). These types of sentences don't aim to start a conversation; You either acknowledge it and move on, or continue to add on it- in which, it would be YOU who decided to talk to him. Not Asa who decided to talk to you. --
Manipulative, but only when he wants to put in the effort. Bro's too self-centered to actually be interested in your psyche. He'll only put in the effort to manipulate ppl if he deems the reward worthy enough. He's not gonna do fancy psychology tricks on your silly brain if all he wanted was the remote from across the room lmao. If he can do it himself, he doesn't need anyone else. --
Asa likes to do things alone. He finds it hard to communicate exactly what he needs to others, so he'd rather do it himself to avoid the hassle. If he does need help, however, he'd have to plan a descriptive guide for the other person to follow. The same goes for whoever needs him to do something: They better be specific and throrough, Asa in fact *demands verbally* for them to be specific and thorough; Because if something goes wrong, he wouldn't take responsibility for it. --
Prefers stability and consistency. Whenever he makes a decision that can alter the comforting "normal" he's used to, Asa has to prepare a lot- just in case something goes wrong/ makes sure the decision falls into his favor. --
His ego is others' and his own demise. Asa has a certain image of himself that he needs to uphold, because that image is what he indentifies with. And his ego protects that image to a monstrous extent, at the cost of others, and even at the cost of himself. --
In a public/ professional setting: Stern. Strict. Up-tight. Has a stick up his ass. And professional, of course. --
At home/ alone: Generally more relaxed. Likes to keep things under control. He'll let inconveniences slide easier, if they don't have big consequences. --
At the hotel/ with his victims: Bat shit insane. Idk how to tell you this- but enjoying seeing the human body in pain isn't a sexual thing for Asa. He finds the human body in various states is fascinating and aesthetically "satisfying" to look at. --
I wouldn't say he's psychopathic. But he is. He's just pretty good at masking it. --
Possessive. Don't touch his shit without permission. --
A homebody. He loves domesticity. But he also loves the thrill of his "hobby". Asa has trouble balancing these two. --
Autistic. (duh) Entomology is his special interest. But he focuses on the Taxonomy branch and Morphology branch the most. His other interest is Coffee-making & Arachnology. --
Artistic .(woah) Asa enjoys art in all forms. Esspecially taxidermy and painting. . . Art is a higher purpose, to him. Something to strive for. It's almost like divinity. --
Gay gay homosexual gay. Repressed faggot <3 He thinks homosexuality is fine, he doesn't give a shit about other people's orientation. He just has a hard time accepting it when it applies to him. Asa doesn't go out of his way to vocalize his support but let's say... If discrimination was to happen to an lgbtq person near him, or the government's being an asshole, Asa would do what he can to help as he deems it to be unfair. Also y'know homosexuality is found in over 100 species of insects and arachnids y'know y'know it totally didn't affect Asa's views on Lgbt ppl -bc if he wasn't a Bug Freak and views people as "Insects" he'd def be that type of homophobic homosexual guy y'know *gay wrist flick* --
Certified underground freak. You can find him at leather clubs once every few months. No you won't be able to recognize that it's him. If you do, and even if you tell, no one would believe you. I hope whoever has the fortunate (or unfortunate) opportunity to hook up with Asa a speedy recovery. It must be so hard to top a repressed homosexual with a guilty conscience who's into bdsm --
Obsession with punishment. Everything has a reason, and the consequences that follows it. Asa believes anything that goes against the pre-established rules or "unspoken" rules should be punished. A natural sequence of events, Asa thinks. Anything "wrong" should "deserve" punishment, to be specific. (*wink* We'll get to the implications of that) That applies to his victims, the people around him, and it also applies to him. --
Has little to no regard for human life. Which includes his own. Human's life are no more precious than an animal's or an insect's. They're all equal to him. But it is one's decision to kill another. --
Asa is aware of the non-superiority in humans, and look down on people who doesn't see it. So to an extent, he considers himself "better" than those he doesn't see his vision. Although it is a hypocrisy on his part, as Asa does deem himself and everyone else as equal. He's not superior, he's just... "better" :) He is simply a "mediator" that helps those he captures transition between their "insect state" into something more useful and has better meaning... y'know, like, Art. Asa is "helping" them :) And suffering and pain is just part of the process to become Art. It is sometimes, required. --
Asa thinks Pain has meaning and a purpose. A transitional state to something better, grander. He doesnt think his victims' suffering is uneccessary, but rather justified because it will lead them to something "greater". And those who fails to get through this cocoon of their metamorphosis were just not meant to be. And tbh, this philosophy of Asa's helps a lot with the cognitive dissonance. He barely feels any guilt at all. Unless SOMEONE manages to shake Asa's ideology foundation to its core, there's really no point in convincing him verbally to stop being a psychopath lmao. PHEW- okay that's all for now. I brainrotted too much about this man (Might come back to add more later) -Orange-
