HOLY! There it is!
I promised that it'd be released in May and I delivered!
So this album is five tracks, and then five more tracks. Ten total! The first five are melodic ambient stuffs, and the following five are reimagined-versions in a more droney noisy aspect! Sampled my own material and then turned them into more... ethereal and creepy tracks. My reasoning for this is wholly that I believe art is this weird differential between sadness and desire. We ache to create something meaningful, and in essence often drift toward more sad tones. I consider this a rise and fall.
Anyway, my favourite track is number four, but they're all my favourite too... if you like weird ambient noisy stuff, this might be up your street and I'd really like you to listen. I poured a lot of love and time into this. It's also on Spotify, and wherever else you can want it.
If you download it from bandcamp (completely free), you get a bunch of goodies, including full scale versions of the front and back cover art, and the booklet of poems, featuring a bunch of photos I've taken.
You may be asking, "back cover art??" and yes! Back cover! This will have a CD release very soon once the manafacturers start helping print them! With this, I will also be giving out 6x4 postcard sized matte-prints of the photography (and journey) that are signed, dated and talk about the photo or something relevant to it on the back. Anybody who "buys" a CD will receive one until they're all gone. There are also a few limited copies of physical glossy prints of the booklet, also signed.
I put "buy" in quotes because the album is free, but if you're not local to me I need to charge you shipping (sorry!) but if you do want to donate any money toward it, it will go toward charity! :)
If you want to know more about the album.. there's a lot of lore, such as how the tracks were mastered, in what speeds, the meanings of certain samples or noises and how they can be deciphered and translated to English...
just ask!! always happy to expand :) plenty to know that I'm not telling ;) or just figure it out!
enjoy and have fun!!
Love,

Album is coming along nicely. Attached photo is some of the nuts-and-bolts panning and manual volume control I do. I find it harder to automate stuff and have it do exactly what I'm looking for, so I often take on most minor-adjustments by hand. It also helps to hone in what I'm after in the mix a lot of the time. There's times where it's like "ah, this part of the synth really doesn't fit here as loud as it is" or whatever, and so rather than remove it completely or re-record it, I just fade it down in the mix a bunch so it still has some rumbling ambience, but isn't completely gone. It usually works quite well for the genres I reside in.
Bah!
Anyway, to talk more about the album itself.. it's good. I really like the direction this one's taking. I still don't have a title for it yet; it needs to take more shape. For now, just "noise album 2" is the project name.
Lots and lots of staticky, glitchy noisy patchwork, synth samples, and found sound cutups. This album does feel a lot like sewing up a blanket of scrap material. I love it.
It'll be coming to you sometime mid-late May 2025, and should have some CD releases to go along aside. Hope you like it :)

i helped archive some more music
So, I own a CD entitled "Core Sample '98". It's a compilation of songs from artists based primarily in Brisbane, Aus.
Well I say "in". This is from 1998 as the name suggests, so a lot of these were up-and-coming artists toward the early 2000s. It was a compilation CD aimed to spotlight some of these upcoming acts by Sony Music as a way to help push a few of them into the mainstream. A couple of artists were successful - one of which was Speedstar* which hit the Australian charts a couple times, and another (Messiah) which later renamed themselves as Sunk Loto.
This has been all but lost to time, there's not any copies easily floating around unless you live in Aus, remember this CD and are looking to relisten to it, in which there's a couple going on Discogs. I luckily managed to acquire it a few years ago.
The other day, I stumbled across "Brisbane Music Graveyard" an alt-project ran by 4000 Records, in Australia.
This aims to be a place where artists of this era can reclaim a bit of space, and people can come to remember the music they once heard. It's a really special little thing, and I like it a lot. I'm glad it exists. However I had been listening to this Comp CD, and really enjoyed "Pig 2.1" by Denvar. Great song, so I checked out this self-titled album by them that happened to be on the Brisbane Music Graveyard.
I listened, I enjoyed and I set myself on a mission. I messaged 4000 Records about this CD I owned, to say that it contained lots of artists from this era and location and would they be interested in it.
After a nice email back and forth with a gent who works there, I am glad to say a few of the tracks from this Comp CD I recovered are now available with the rest of the relevant releases on BMG (as hidden tracks).
You should check them out if you get a chance and like some early 2000s Indie Rock!
