'failure' his mind rages at him, but the voice in his mind is not his own. the voice in his head that berates him is his father's. it's only a feminine voice that breaks through his mind, and he glances up at her. he doesn't want to move from the bunk, he feels as if he stands his legs will give out. he looks away for a moment, feels shame warming his face. she must think he was weak too.

the offered water makes him look up. it's a gesture laced with compassion. a shaking hand reaches out to take it, and he realizes how dry his mouth is. he bows his head, a murmured 'thank you, jun-hee' leaving his lips. he takes a swig, looking over at her, gaze dropping to her belly and back up to her face. "i'm sorry. i'm sorry, i really am. i failed everyone... it's my fault we're still here, huh?"
