can we talk about the fact that there’s almost no marketing for a knight of the seven kingdoms

subscription-based brain, memories stored in the cloud. making them say ads without even knowing it. slowly decreasing their awake (streaming) time unless they upgrade to the next tier, and making their current tier more and more useless..... black mirror we're so back

I feel like people behind the motion capture never get quite the respect they deserve. Like yes Bradley Cooper did amazing for the voice for Rocket but let's not forget that the actual movements are all done by Sean Gunn. He's just as much as Rocket as Bradley is. Did the voice for Young Rocket too. Oh your heart broke at that "hurts..." line? Blame Mr Sean Gunn.
Also it's why we have this iconic image.
*editing to add* he didn't do the baby Rocket voice, but anything after that is all Sean Gunn!

Listen, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was game changing and an excellent close to frankly one of THE best parts of the MCU and a great character vehicle for Rocket and a great sendoff to James Gunn but amid all that I feel like not enough people emphasize that in this movie the entire team gets decimated in the first five minutes of the movie by this:
Just, utterly squashed. Destroyed. By this lil guy.
Best movie.

the fact that drax went from “there are two types of beings in the universe. those who dance, and those who do not,” clearly being the group that doesn’t
to dancing with the kids at the end when he rediscovers his role as a father, i can’t

The thing in Gurdians of the Galaxy is that they don't really care about being good. They just want to be with their little band of misfits and accidentally saving the galaxy in the process.
In GOTG 1, they have no other choice bc they don't want to die.
In GOTG 2, Quill just wanted a dad. The dad happens to be an egomaniac.
In Endgame, Rocket and Nebula just wanted to bring their family back.
In GOTG 3, they just wanted to save a friend.
And their selfishness is what makes them more human than any superhero movie... though only .5 of them is actually human 😭

Currently thinking about Nebula's face when Peter told her he never noticed how black her eyes are. Not that "ò.ó" one but that short raise of her eyebrows. "ó.ò" Almost like "huh?"
So soft. My heart.

made myself sad thinking about how carol, nat, and nebula were probably besties during the five years of the blip.
#someone pointed out a while ago that carol didn’t really know any of the other women in that feminist scene in endgame#and that she was probably thinking ‘where the hell is nat’

I had a few issues with Endgame
In the wake of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 I watched all of the media involving the Guardians. This included Avengers: Endgame. This reminded me of the issues I had with the movie. (Leaving out the time travel stuff cause I’m not a big fan of time travel in movies)
First and foremost, the handling of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Their story up to that point had been about learning to open up and let people in. To be a family. Rocket lost every single member of that family. Nebula’s sister was murdered by their abuser. We got a single scene that conveyed their loss. Don’t get me wrong I liked this scene, but considering how much time we devoted to Tony Stark’s MANPAIN, I would have liked a little more that a scene that fits into a 7 second GIF.
The bigger issue was not giving them a proper reunion scene. They’re a family and they had been separated for 5 years. I think we deserved a little more. Especially since they took the time to do the Tony Stark & Peter Parker reunion.

But the BIGGEST issue was the handling of Thor’s entire arch. Thor failed to kill Thanos because he was consumed by vengeance, he WANTED Thanos to know who killed him which gave Thanos the time to snap his fingers and dust half the Universe. They took this man who lost his entire family, his home, most of his people, who failed to stop the “Blip” from happening out of his desire for revenge and you turned him and his alcoholism and depression into an in poor taste fat joke.
This juxtaposed with the sincerity of how they treated Peter’s alcoholism and depression in Vol. 3 and it just makes me more disappointed. The Guardians showed concern for Peter, the Avengers mocked Thor.
Bonus nitpicks:
Rocket is smarter than Tony Stark. Plenty of comic evidence for this. Wanted to see Rocket dunk on him a bit.
Natasha deserved better. We got a whole funeral for Tony but nothing for Natasha in the film. So glad Ms. Marvel at least showed us that the general public know of the sacrifice she made for the world.

Infinity war. Or the time Rocket lost his only family all at once for the second time in his life. 🙃
I'm so glad he and Nebula bonded over those 5 years. They grew so close 🥹

I was just rewatching Infinity War and I got to Rocket saying ‘Oh, I’ll get that arm’ and my first thou was HE GOT THE ARM FOR CHRISTMAS IN THE END! then I was like— WAIT!
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday special came out in 2022…
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier came out in 2021…
That means that he got his arm stolen about a year after that…
So my question now is…
Are they gonna acknowledge that in Thunderbolts*?😂
Like I just want a scene where Bucky’s like absolutely done with Alexei and he goes ‘I haven’t had this bad a time since I got my arm stolen by a goddamn cyborg for a goddamn raccoon and I had to have it replaced. AGAIN.’ and does not elaborate for anybody he just moves on like nothing happened.
