zero is naturally a night owl but his element makes it worse depending on how starry it is outside ; like, the more prominent the stars are, the more restless his element (& him by proxy) gets. very much not an early riser tho, you'd have to dunk his head in a bucket of cold water to get him up ... assuming he didn't stay up all night on accident

When given the opportunity, how late will your Ninjago oc sleep in?

Toni is a chronic early riser. Even when they have a day off, said day is fully packed with planned interviews (with a lunch break with Skylor in between, obviously) to sleep in, they’d have to specifically plan it. But he doesn’t want to do that anyways. So. The latest you will ever find her waking up is 8:30.

Charlie cannot sleep in either. Not for any sort of ‘she has shit to do’ reason, she literally cannotttt sleep in. Sleeping past 10:00 AM will kill her, at least she thinks so. It’s the traumaaaaaa.

Kit will sleep in soooooo hard. They have a day off and you aren’t seeing them until at least 1 PM.

Mirai wakes up at 7 AM every morning no matter what is happening.

to start, zero is a certified crashout, equally if not worse than jay cus his element is very closely linked to his emotions & he feels everything Very Very deeply (it's one of the reasons they & kai get along so well cus they're just alike but. not important rn). pressure is something he was forced to work well with once his dad started investing more time in zero's element than zero as a person, a kid, and his child, but it's not a pleasant thing to work under & thus causes him to get uncharacteristically bothered & snappy if his concentration is broken

season 9 & 10 r probably the most stressed his been Ever. s9 he's with the main four + baby wu when the team gets separated & not knowing if there's a way to get home (if there's even a home to return to, & in the event there is, is everyone else there, too?) messes with his head BADDD. wu is a baby, jay is so far gone cus of the situation he's not even the same person, he doesn't know if anybody is even alive ... yeah. Yeah. his elemental powers r jacked up the entire ride through which rlly doesn't do good for anybody. but yk ... at least he gets a boyfriend (cole) at the end of it all!! <3

and then he dies in front of him the very next season 😐

oh also - haven't gotten this far yet but dragons rising has him all the way fucked up for VERY obvious reasons. idk exactly what yet since Again im not there yet but he Does lose an eye

Good morning folks! If you’re here because I mentioned bringing back the Ninjago oc questions, boy do I have news for you.

I’m bringing them back. They might look a little different and I’m gonna try and only do one a day so as to not clog up my blog, but I’m excited to be bringing them back. I still be putting in my own answers! But you might notice the lack of Kit and Mirai. That is because they’re seriously neglected and underdeveloped and I need to figure that out before I post them again. You also might notice Charlie is still here after I said I’m moving her into my personal project. Good news! She gets to do both because I like her a lot. Alright! Welcome back!

For today’s question, which event in canon caused your Ninjago oc the most stress? And how well do they fare under pressure?

Generally, Toni works well under pressure. The reason being, she grew up in a situation where it was imperative for her to learn to think on her feet. However the most stress that he’s experienced was due to events in S8 Sons Of Garmadon as well as S9 Hunted. He got a little too nosy and was beat up and kidnapped over it. Before that, Toni was rarely directly involved with things like that, and they don’t handle the situation very well. In that situation, none of the skills Toni had would have helped them and Toni had never felt so helpless. So she did not respond well.

Charlie’s most stressful event would be the Tournament of Sources and everything that follows. After her character arc, Charlie has a deep sense of love and care for the DR kiddos, and it tears her up to watch Arin turning into the person she used to be. Charlie does not under any circumstances handle pressure or stress well. When she gets frustrated, Charlie will get mean, and when she feels backed into a corner she’ll start (figuratively/metaphorically) snapping and biting at people. Charlie’s stress response is anger.

zero is 17 by his debut in s4 & has a spring birthday so im gonna assume he got somewhat through his junior year of high school before ninja stuff happened. everything went smooth sailing in elementary school, but middle school got unfathomably rough : it's around this time he became aware of his gender & sexuality (or what he may be instead of what he should be), his dad got more invested in honing his elemental power than he was in zero, & the rose-tinted glasses he had on when it came down to his mom's side of the family had broken in his hands

Y’all know what time it is (ninjago oc question time) what is their education like?

Toni graduated high school, but just barely. She was failing badly bc she spent a lot of time skipping class.

Charlie did not go to high school at all, nobody knew she was even alive at that point.

Kit has a bachelors in biology.

anyways the most prominent scar on zero is the impalement scar on the left side of his stomach from. being impaled. by a sai. idk if it happens during a season but it probably does like sometime in seasons 8 & beyond cus shit starts gettin real serious once the artstyle changed /silly ,, he uses that same sai as a backup weapon along w a spare nya gave after he's all better cus, in his words, “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger :D” nobody finds it quite as funny as he does (he almost bled to death)

If your oc has any scars, what is a quick backstory behind the most prominent scar they have?

Toni can’t even remember the story behind most of their scars, most if not all of them being from the danger Toni actively puts themself in trying to get interviews from ppl. The most prominent scars he has are on his left shoulder and right underneath his right elbow.

Charlie wears a lot of long sleeves so it’s difficult to place how many/what type of scars she has. She has a scar across her back and shoulder blades that she got when she was 13 during the Great Devourer attack when her entire apartment building came down on top of her, and it’s not a scar but she has a tricky left shoulder because it got dislocated and she had to set it herself. Multiple times. And it never healed quite right.

Kit doesn’t have any prominent scars, but has a burn scar in their hand from a stupid cooling accident.

zero does go to the same school as the ninja & is a part of the team as well !! he & cole have Something going on between them but it's purposely left unclear if they're actually dating or if zero is just rlly rlly affectionate — and it's not like anyone else rlly cares bc of their close association with lloyd (unless we're talking abt teasing in which case there is A Lot of that)

Every day I’m switching between being mad Skylor didn’t join the team after season 4. She’s got an insanely powerful element and they just kinda benched her until they needed her again and it’s frustrating to know about all the wasted potential she had.

Skylor was so real for realizing all the fuckshit going on and deciding it was NOT her problem and continuing to run the noodle shop her dad set up as a front for a cult. She said ‘the thing I’m good at is noodles’ and stuck by that hardcore and I have to respect that.

personally i think it's fucked up & evil that nobody ever talks abt cole confessing to zero in the finale of s9 ☹️ he spent 3 seasons & an entire special pining over the mf & finally decided to bite the bullet with that confession even though he was terrified he would make shit awkward BUT THEN HE DIDN'T!!!!!! zero legally can drive cus he got his license sometime before tournament of elements - he was still living w his parents when he got it actually - but he typically doesn't unless it's his mech or smth. the only driving vehicle he owns is his mech rlly but even then it's like. more of a jet if anything?? & for casual driving (like grocery shopping) he js gets around w his element.

Toni can drive, but doesn’t on account if not owning a car (car insurance in Ninjago City has to be CRAZYYYYYY) and it’s easier to stop and interview ppl if he’s on a bike or on foot.

Charlie never properly learned how to drive (didn’t go to high school bc she was legally regarded as dead by that point) but does know how to and does do so.

Kit can’t drive bc they grew up in a society where it. Wasn’t needed.

zero leans more toward jumpsuits but what he prefers aren't true jumpsuits, they're more like a two-piece set?? he likes flowy & elegant pieces when it comes to formal stuff bc he values comfortability in the beauty — yea beauty is pain & allat but he'll be avoiding pain if he can help it lmao (he's a ninja he's been thro ENOUGH MAN)

pants & the tops don't match but are good examples of what's in his closet! he doesn't tend to think about any possible attacks on ninjago city while he's out at a formal event (unless the formal event is an undercover mission in which case he'll wear smth more form-fitting like a suit), so he's a little fucked if something happens bc he's for sure getting snagged 💀

Toni is a jumpsuit person, he finds them very comfortable. Specifically he’d wear a dark turquoise colored jumpsuit.

Charlie doesn’t generally have any sort of reason to dress formally, but if she had to, she’d be a suit person.

Kit would wear the brightest yellow jumpsuit known to man.
