I looked at the Divine that layed before me, a million eyes that i couldn't comprehend with an ever present smile

As its ichor of gold and milk flowed, flowers bloomed and weathers moved to suit the people's needs

Its lips moved, never stopping, still answering prayers from all around the earth

The God had been killed, by the hands of a mortal such as I but it could not truly die

And so, my knees fell to the ground and my hands clasped together in prayer, its lips never stopped moving, i wondered if it was answering my prayer right now

The hunters besides me rejoiced and plucked the blooming land bare of its divinity, collected its ichor and made the flowing land barren

A fantasy world with an industrial revolution, where Gods are hunted like whales were.

"You're a healer, why do you have the most kills?" He asked

It was an innocent question borne of curiosity, but every word of reminded me of my failures

Reminded me of every life that was snatched from my embrace by the reaper, their voices that asked me to save them, that told me of their will to live and even ones that told me that i did my best

I looked at him, and wondered, if he was also going to be in my embrace one day, above the earth that bloomed red from his own flesh and beg me to save him even if all i could do was cry and pound into his body every magic that was left in this useless body of mine

"Failure" I answered the question finally, he looked confused and opened his mouth but closed it again after looking at me, i wondered if i made a weird face

“You’re a healer. Actually, you’re the best healer in the world… so how do you have more kills than everyone else in your party combined?” “Simple. I heal.”
