“ i love them, “ it was a simple answer but not untrue. he would protect them from everything, yet he could not hide them from their mother’s TAINTED love. it was harder to see in myrcella and tommen but he could see what cersei’s love was doing to joffrey. the boy WASN’T right and she seemed to only make his SICKNESS worse like an infection in a wound, she festered.

yet what was he to do? keep his children from their mother? no. it would be undeniably heartless when he didn’t have any proof but he knew. he could see it when she whispered in his boy’s ear, joffrey’s eyes would DARKEN. he could hear it in his ear as well from a time when cersei was still TRYING to sink her lion claws into him. she would whisper  c r u e l, ENTICING words into his ear until he could SHAKE her off.

but joffrey was a mere boy. what boy knew how to FIGHT off his mother, not when her words could be so sweet but robert saw it. a monster she was creating and he knew it was only TIME before her monster would learned even his mother couldn’t keep him CAGED.

it made his stomach twist at the thought and the only thing that seemed to help it was a drink but more drinks would always follow and before he could remember, he was back to fighting the dragon prince and his children were left FORGOTTEN.
