You ever realize that out of all the main characters in the Lunar Chronicles, only Thorne and Scarlet (and Jacin?) went to school like normal. Sure, Thorne was running poker tables at recess, but that's normal compared to everyone else. Kai is royalty, so he probably had a tutor. Winter had a tutor. Cress learned how to hack before she could read (she hacked to get the books that taught her how to read). Wolf was a child soldier. Iko is a robot. Cinder was unconscious for most of her childhood, then she was force to work (in pretty sure she never went to school but correct me if I'm wrong). Jacin was normal, I guess, but he was raised on Luna.

Just imagine Thorne saying something reminded him of high school and almost everyone else cannot relate

one of my favorite parts of the lunar chronicles has always been how batshit insane it is. just the the genuine unhingery. the main character kidnaps her love interest from his wedding. said love interest stabs his arranged bride (a murderous dictator) with scissors at the altar. cress and thorne stay at an inn in the middle of the desert, and while he’s fucking around gambling she gets kidnapped into an underground medical experimentation human trafficking ring and bought by her long lost father. there’s evil moon people. scarlet and wolf get it on in a boxcar after like two days of knowing each other. 4/9 of the main cast aren’t human. cinder crashes kai’s wedding (again), murders twenty people, and jumps off a ten story balcony into a lake. kai keeps cinder’s metal foot so he can stare at it and long after her while she’s a wanted fugitive. cress fangirls over and stalks her outlaw crush on the internet for years and then bags him when they meet. not one of them is over twenty or mentally sound btw. no other YA series is doing it like that. applause

I’ve made a trillion posts about this but I truly love how Cinder is both the cool girl with a sarcastic sense of humour and also the girl that’s completely in love with the hot emperor. Her narrative will make a dry joke one second and the next it’s about Kai’s dreamy eyes

I just realized… in The Lunar Chronicles, Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress have all shot their love interest at least once. Like, Cinder shot Kai with a tranq dart when she kidnapped him, Scarlet shot Wolf in the arm to stop him from killing Ran (the first time), and Cress shot off two of Thorne’s fingers to save Cinder. And yet they’re all so cute together 😅

I feel like Cinder's fans would treat her different phases like musician eras, i.e. Mechanic Cinder, Fugitive Cinder, Princess Selene, Revolutionary Cinder, Queen Selene, Empress Selene. So whenever Cinder debuts a new look everyone jokes "new album coming 😍" and make collages of her different aesthetics. There are quizzes called "Which Selene era are you?"

we must have hope for the tlc adaptation. If it ends up being garbage, it might still introduce people to the books. We could also get a meme from the adaptation akin to “this is a pen” so it can’t be all bad. Maybe mostly, but not all. (Plus if it’s a good adaptation, I could die happy)

Here's what I'm hopeful for: 1, it will be animation, meaning they should be able to portray the characters accurately. 2, they should be able to do the glamour whereas if it were live action the cgi could look bad if they have budget constraints.

My worry is that tlc is not a big fandom like alta or pjo was when their bad adaptations came out. It could sour the reputation of the books and convince movie studios that this series is not worth it because of the bad reception a bad adaptation would receive. Furthermore, it's being animated--a medium generally written off as for kids--so I worry that it won't receive enough care because it's considered 'kiddy'. I'm sure we will meme it to death either way.

I don’t know if you have ever seen clips of Bobbi Althoffs podcast but she basically interviews super famous people very monotone with a straight face the whole time. And she sort of tries to sound annoyed by them but it’s really funny. Anyways I think if cinder and Kai were to do it with her Kai’s would just be him trying not to smile/laugh the whole time. And in cinders she would be completely straight faced as well and match Bobbi’s energy perfectly. Although maybe not with Kai’s training…

I think she would be dead by the time Kai and Cinder are alive...but isn't that kinda like the chicken shop dates?

But consider--Thorne has a podcast. He obviously wouldn't have a deadpan delivery, but it would definitely produce some hilarious moments with the crew on it and a source for regular meme content. Cinder and Kai would be more relaxed because it's their friend so it would be a way the public gets to see their true personalities.
