Etho jealousy arc is really funny in general but the way he goes about is fascinating. He zeroes in on making fun of and belittling Jimmy, dancing around the fact that what he’s jealous of is Bdubs’ attention. Which is hilarious because it’s Bdubs. If Etho wanted his attention all he’d have to do is ask. But he’s not going to do that because there is something deeply wrong with him.

DO YOU GUYS WANNA KNOW WHY I DRAW MY TANGO DESIGN WITH WEIRD FRECKLES??

WELL GET READY FOR A HEADCANON BIOLOGY LESSON DORKS !!!!!!! (TW for non-detailed skin/blood vessel diagrams)

SO! Here's a model of Tango's skin (without hair because this doesn't concern it.)

You'll notice its very similar to human skin, but there are a few key differences.

1. His blood can get super super hot and he's fine, it does that all the time

2. His epidermis isnt like ours. its made of different stuff and can also get very hot, but if it gets *too* hot it (harmlessly) kind of dies and gets charred. its less like a burn and more like developing a callous. his epidermis is kind of like lava or metal in that it can almost melt and glow but cools down into a skin-like flexible solid.

3. Tango's natural internal temp is like super hot for humans. like youd take a human to the hospital but he's chillin

4. When tango's flushed, angy, upset, emotional, etc., his blood heats up wayyy fast.

Although his body may be at a higher temperature, Tango does need a way to vent that heat especially when he does get emotional, so his body takes all the blood thats getting too hot and pushes it out towards his skin so the heat can disperse into the relatively cool atmosphere. Kind of like what your body does when you have a fever! except not as intense.

Let's heat things up, shall we?

STAGE 1: Tango's blood starts to heat up. The heat is pushed through the capillary blood vessels and into th epidermis. If he doesn't get any more emotional, the whole system is in balance and that's where it ends, his body is successfully venting heat outside his body. But, say Tango doesn't calm down and instead gets worse.

STAGE 2: Tango's blood heats up even more. It's at this point that the air immediately next to his skin can't really absorb all the heat that needs to be vented, so the epidermis absorbs it instead. (Something like a fan, wet washcloth, coldpack, or an A/C would mitigate this issue, but to Tango it's not really worth it as this whole process is relatively painless.)

The epidermis begins to heat up, glow slightly, and become hot to the touch (like fire hot; if a human touches him they will literally get burned as if they touched a hot pan) and, critically, reaches a point of heat where a chemical change starts taking place. The epidermis starts to basically reach a "soft crack" consistency, where it seems the same as it was- until it cools down.

STAGE 3: As Tango starts to calm down, his blood cools down too. The epidermis has undergone a chemical change that makes it charred/burnt/solid and cannot be changed back. (Again, this process is not painful. It's like sweating combined with dipping your hand in melted wax combined with developing a scab.) He basically has a layer of solid char stuck to his skin, which is rapidly cooling.

STAGE 4: When Tango's skin has finally cooled all the way back to normal, the charred epidermis contracts because of the temperature drop and we get this cracked, spotty, clumpy effect, almost like the dried clay dirt in desertous regions. Underneath these charred sections, new skin is already developing and the char will eventually be rubbed off (or be picked off by Tango when he's stressed.)
