Currently obsessed with Star Wars and Mission Impossible. Aro-Ace, mid-twenties, she/her. I'm not the StardustLoki on twitter with the tattoo (to save you all some time lol) - my name's Deborah, not Kate - though I usually go by 'Stardust' online. Fluent in English and French, so you can talk to me in either of those if you want. In case Tumblr does shut down I am StardustOwl on fanfiction.net and MagicalStardust on ao3. It’s sad how much of what is taught in school is useless to over 99% of the population.
There are literally math concepts taught in high school and middle school that are only used in extremely specialized fields or that are even so outdated they aren’t used anymore!

btw there's nothing wrong with intergenerational friendships and it is in fact super important for teens to have healthy, respectful relationships with the adults in their lives because it will help them more easily identify when an adult is being toxic, manipulative, or otherwise unsavory if they have healthy relationships to go off of.
"A grown ass adult shouldn't have anything in common with a teenager" okay so you're either operating off of an assumption that either teenagers don't have anything of worth to contribute to a conversation, or that adults aren't allowed to have fun hobbies.
I talked to my teenage cousin for like an hour the other day about character motivations and the core themes of one piece and had a blast talking to her! She had some real insightful things to say!
Teenagers are fully realized and complex human beings! You can talk to them about music, books, video games, hobbies, etc. Stop being weird about it

characters raised to be tools
Weapons. Trained, tested, forged in steel and fire. Failure is an inevitability that ends in death. Pain should not be felt--it should be recognized, familiar, and inconsequential
Martyrs. In the form of servants and princes, of leaders and underdogs. If blood is necessary, the martyr will lift their hands and offer it all
Shields. Like tempering a sword, but only to bear and not to lash out. Wounds are medals--not symbols of pride, but symbols of worth. A pretty shield is useless; scars mean a job well done
Experiments. Raised on the cold comfort of a lab table. Restraints are only necessary when they're not in their right mind. Is it honorable, to be twisted beyond recognition? Or is it just a necessary evil?
Monsters. Cruelty, caution, and regarding one as a creature beyond reasonable thought is tempering in its own right. But if you keep a leash at the right length, perhaps the massecre won't reach you. One can hope.
Idols. Pretty face, pretty name, pretty hands around their shoulders and throat. There to seduce, manipulate, force any feeling to come to the surface and twist it to their favor. Any genuinity stays locked behind the guilded cage that surrounds their pretty little heart
Trophies. Status and wealth and the traditions that keep someone at their heels, on their knees, to display and serve and decorate one's ballroom.
Sacrifices. Drenched in honorable clothes, prepared and adored and cleansed. The gift of hope at the cost of one's life. Is it taken with no fight? How can you escape the ropes you were born in?

Confession: The letter “t” key on my laptop has been broken since 2024. From what my research tells me, they can’t fix individual keys on that model, and my laptop is no longer under a warranty, but it seems foolish to fork out over $900 for a new computer, so instead I’ve trained my brain to hit ctrl+v every time I want to hit “t.”
But sometimes I have to copy-paste something else besides “t,” which means I need a readily available place to copy the “t” from.
My first thought was to search “tiger” on Google, but if you can’t type the letter “t,” you just get search results about Bob Iger.
I realized words that end with “t” are easier for Google to autocomplete, so the first one I thought of was “crypt.” But wouldn’t you know, googling “cryp” takes to you to cryptocurrency results, and I REALLY don’t want my algorithm thinking I google that multiple times per week.
Then I remembered a cool place I went in London, called Cafe in the Crypt. It’s exactly what it sounds like and located below St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church. When I type in “Cafe in Cryp,” Google does indeed autocomplete it effectively! So I either keep that search result open in a tab or Google it every day.
So, that being said, if anyone works for St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church’s marketing department and has been utterly flummoxed by an IP address from Virginia that has googled their cafe hundreds of times over the past 6 months… that wasn’t a bot, that was me.
I am the Spiders Georg of Cafe in the Crypt.
Anyway, it’s a pretty cool place to check out if you’re ever in London. Just maybe not cool enough to Google it on a daily basis for months straight.

I want to play Two Point Museum (procrastinating) but it's $48 and I am philosophically against spending nearly fifty bucks for a game that I know will be fundamentally identical to Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus. I have to wait for it to go on sale for like. Moral reasons. I will not condone this pricing structure by giving them that much.

i hope we all know julia is ethan’s world. like he fundamentally cannot allow himself to seek happiness with anyone after mi3 is because julia became his world in that space between mi2 and mi3. she’s the only reason he didn’t kill himself after davian killed fake!julia. her being alive was the only reason we got thru these films
