Also Jax DOES notice that Caine can alter minds in ep 5 in the bar scene, so I think its interesting that Caine knows that he knows but still fucks with him anyway.

Really playing into my idea of Jax being so fucking done in the circus because of all the lies, blame and isolation he faces

Also, Caine was just lying. He CAN mess with people's minds in the Circus.

Jax rant cuz I need to yap [pls I spent so long on this I'm so stupid]

this contains spoilers for episode six of the amazing digital circus, this is just my interpretation of Jax and you don't have to agree, after all this is my opinion, thank you for reading ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

The amount of times Jax's mask slips this episode, he opens up to pomni quite a lot (and I still think those two are friends and not an implied couple), the two enjoy the others company quite a lot and I really agree with the sentiment of Pomni reminding Jax of Ribbit; also going on a side note to say that Jax never shot at Pomni on purpose it was only that one time whilst shooting at kinger did he 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 shoot Pomni, and apologized (obviously this doesn't make the rest of his actions good lmao I just liked that he did that)

The scene in the tent with Ragatha where she says that Jax is just trying to "corrupt" Pomni, Jax does put on a brave face at first, keeping up his unbothered act in front of Ragatha:

But as soon as she's on the ground his breathing gets heavy as if it hit some part of him that had heard it before, but that act comes back AS SOON as Pomni is in the room again, the shift between rage to boredom and snark is something we see constantly, such as in ep 4 with Spudsy's where he leaves the restaurant and his facade drops ONCE AGAIN, back then we took that scene as Jax having worked in a fast food place in the human world and being exhausted, and whilst I still believe this may be the case it could also just he from playing up his comedy persona all day?

(mood shift is INSANE)

we get so SO many switches in this episode. Mostly when Jax is speaking with Pomni, where he's going to open up and then catches himself. He's still torn up about Ribbit abstracting and he's pushing people away to cope with it, he can't help but do it and we do know he regrets this due to the scene at the rewards ceremony, A part of me thinks that Jax sort of craves love in a way yet because he's constantly pushing it away and closing himself off, putting these walls up because he's scared to lose anyone else [great fanfic potential btw bring on the angst] This is AMAZINGLY displayed when Pomni hugs him [great development for her by the way!! she used to not like physical touch!!] but he pushes her away and then brushes it off.

HIM GETTING FED UP WITH THE CIRCUS OKAY OKAY, When explaining to Pomni how she should loosen up and play into an archetype, he starts to go off on a rant about how he "used to do important things" and how he's now a "weird cartoon bu-... Jester" There's a hesitation between the "bunny" and "Jester", again taking that as him almost opening up and trying to sympathize with an anecdote but then pushing it down ↓

AND AFTER HE SHOUTS AT POMNI. He turns away and says "Fuck" and its just DRIPPING with exhaustion and hatred, but then after its censored he brings a hand up to his mouth and sighs like he doesn't know what he was expecting. He's tired of the censors and the bouncy colorful emptiness that the circus has, its a great visualization of how liminality can drive someone insane. sure living in a safe fun world would be great for a couple of days maybe a week but without the scheduled life of reality it would drive you stir crazy, in the circus they don't really need to eat or sleep, they do so because they need routine to keep sane.

And then in the rewards he does start to feel the loneliness creep in due to sitting alone, the weight of his words towards Pomni finally settling in, I think it took him back to a time we don't know of quite yet , overcome with guilt he ran to the bathroom just to look at himself, to see the person he's become in this fucked up world he had no choice in being dragged into, its tragic, he almost abstracted and even so he only calmed because he had to forcefully ground himself.

Apologies for my rant but this episode destroyed me

Goose did so good with this one, Lizzie Freeman's and Michael Kovach's voice acting especially was breath taking, there's so many things I can say about episode 6 seriously it was wonderful
