I often see a lot of posts talking about Dark’s mission code, and in nearly every single one of them, Dark is aware of the Mission Code.

But what if he wasn’t?

What if Dark didn’t know about the code Alan implemented into him? What if he couldn’t see the panel Alan was typing in, couldn’t see the text?

The panel was in front of Dark, covering his legs, facing towards the screen. AvA11 showed us what the backside of an application window looked like:

it’s plain and opaque. Presumably, this applies to in-application windows too, which is what the panel Alan uses for the code is.

I don’t think Dark saw Alan typing the mission code. He couldn’t have, from his position/perspective.

Which means the only other way he’d know about it is if it made itself known to him after it was applied, somehow.

So what if it didn’t?

What if the code simply began working, influencing his behavior, as nothing more than an urge, a need, a drive, a compulsion. So subtle Dark had no reason to believe it wasn’t his own thoughts and desires besides how suddenly it took hold in the beginning? But he was so fresh to life, would such a thing have even stood out as abnormal to him?

What if he lived his whole life never knowing that he wasn’t really who he was supposed to be, but a mind controlled version of himself?
