      [ synopsis ]

     Contrary to what the general population might think, lacking in the soulmate department does not immediately mean you’re heartless. In fact, you’d say you worked fairly hard to earn the title of “Heartless Asshole” and it was quite rude of people to assume you were just “born that way.” Getting caught up in the wrong crowd in high school didn’t help, finding yourself often surrounded by drugs, murder, and money (a handsome trio, right?) 

      The last thing you expected was the searing pain of a soulmark branding itself just below your collarbone mid-gun fight. The last thing Kim Hongjoong (leader of the infamous Ateez mafia, your group’s rival) expected was a matching mark of his own, especially after his previous soulmate had died a year prior.

How do soulmates/soulmarks work?

( In relation to a new series - the way soulmates work in this universe is heavily inspired by other people’s ideas, and I don’t take credit for any of them )

            The day a person is born, a unique mark (a soulmark) appears somewhere on their body. Said person with a mark, will age as normal until the age of 20. They will remain this way, not aging until they have found their soulmate.

      how do you know if you’ve found your soulmate?

      - it’s hard to tell if you’re aging or not until it’s too late, so that’s what the soulmarks are for. Not only will your soulmark match your soulmates, but after you’ve made contact with them, it will disappear to confirm that you will now start aging. 

      are there any exceptions?

      - our dear reader (as well as a few other people somewhere out there) can be born without a soulmate. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you favor being immortal to an extent) they will stop aging at 20 and from then on will be unable to die of old age. 

      - if someone’s soulmate dies, their mark will disappear (or continue to not exist if they’ve already met their soulmate).

      - unfortunately, a lot of people die in tragic accidents (that’s life baby!), so fate will often pair someone who’s soulmate has died with a new person. In rare occasions they will remain without a soulmate and continue to live without aging.

[ 10:52 pm ] Hwang Hyunjin

“Shut up! Shut up! Shut uppp!” You whisper loudly, trying to hold your own giggles in as Hyunjin leans in to you. He can’t help cackling into your shoulder as the two of you try stay quiet from inside your shared tent with a sleeping Jisung.

A silence passes over the area and you can quite literally hear crickets (thanks to the outside setting of the camping area). You turn your gaze to meet Hyunjin‘s and immediately the two of you are breaking down again, high off your own laughter and leaning in to each other for support.

Jisung rolls around to face the two of you with what might be the grumpiest expression you’ve ever seen cross his face and immediately you slap a hand over Hyunjin’s upturned lips, moving yourself and him over to face the wall of the tent.

“Go to sleep.” Jisung grumbles in a sleep-induced haze before he turns back around to try and fall back asleep.

Hyunjin lays down on his side, still facing the wall of the tent and you follow close behind, happily getting cozy and wrapping your arms around his waist from behind. He hums contentedly and you can’t help but to nuzzle your face into his back, trying to hide the fit of giggles rising back up your throat.

[ 9:27 am ] Choi San

San smiles fondly from his spot in the doorway, watching with raised brows as you slow dance around the living room with your newly-adopted pup Shiber tucked into your arms.

Still in your pajamas and fluffy socks, you rock back and forth, singing a soft melody to the tiny pupper (who happily licks your cheek, excitedly wiggling around in your arms).

Off in your own little world, you don’t even notice when San happily snaps a pic of you and Shiber. He gazes at you with pure adoration in his eyes and approaches to wrap his arms around you from behind, pressing a sneaky kiss to your cheek (before giving Shiber well deserved pats).

[ 1:37 am ] Jung Wooyoung

Even if he is a little scuffed up (cheekbone bruised a deep purple, nose previously bleeding) you still find Wooyoung just as attractive, if not more than usual.

He squirms in place, standing between your legs (you seated on the bathroom counter with a rag in your hand and a displeased look painting your face).

“Hold still, ya goof!” You reprimand him, locking your legs around the back of his knees to hold him still while you work on cleaning up his face.

Wooyoung pouts in a way you can only describe as over-dramatic, leaning forward to rest his forehead against yours. “I’m sorrrrry!” he whines.

You let out a sigh and he can feel your breath against his face, just close enough. ‘You’re not sorry’ you think, meeting his eyes. He does this almost every other week, showing up in the early hours of the morning with a new bruise to show off.

Wooyoung cups your face oh so tenderly, and for a moment you even consider letting him kiss you, going so far as to run your fingers through his dark hair - but you’re mad (or you’re supposed to be). Wooyoung’s plush lips barely brush against yours and as tempting as they are, you find that you’re tugging his face away from your own, shaking your head.

“Which one?” You ask him, holding up two different boxes of band-aids. “Hello Kitty? Or Spider-Man?”

❣ pretty much the only thing I won’t write is smut (not only am I a minor, but it’s also not my cup of tea) ( ˘︹˘ )

❣ just because I won’t write that, doesn’t mean I won’t write darker themes! I’m a horror junkie and I will gladly write yandere pieces (that will be tagged accordingly).

❣ I stan way too many groups:      bgs (  stray kids, ateez, the boyz, got7, bts, seventeen )      ggs ( twice, blackpink, loona, clc, (g)i-dle ) but as of right now I will only be writing for stray kids and ateez!     - I tend to hyperfixate on groups for months at a time lol so expect new groups to come in and older ones to waver content-wise ^( '-' )^

❣  this isn’t a rule, just a sable fact, but I’m a sucker for like any au lolol I love to get creative. so even if you have one that sounds super crazy you should send it in!
