Prompt: Shadows

The shadows had always adapated around Saiya's life. Shielding her from prying eyes as she slept through the night, helping her escape after snatching that nights dinner, and even aiding her in her quick getaways after a large heist.

She never expected them to become her. Never wanted them to swallow her whole, but, she guesses, she never had the choice in the first place.

Prompt: Forest

The leaves crunch underfoot as Lusine makes her way through the forest area around her farm. Fall has been the best season to forage berries, in her opinion, even if she has only been living in Pelican Town for a few years. Her wicker basket sat in the crook of her elbow, swaying with each step she took, as she subconsciously hummed a soft tune. The further she strayed into the woods the darker the canopy of trees made it seem, but it's nothing she wasn't used to, she'd been through here many times. What she wasn't used to, however, was the feeling she was being followed. Ever since she started going down into the mines rarely anything scared her, but she had to admit, the feeling made her feel uneasy.

That feeling stayed with her as she continued down her usual path for foraging, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Well, at least, until the bush she's plucking berries off of starts to rustle while she's depositing her last batch into her basket. The sound makes her jump slightly but she steels herself and moves the mass of leaves and branches to get a glimpse of what had made the noise.

It wasn't long before the culprit was found, a small calico kitten, no bigger than her palm, was nestled cutely in the middle of the bush looking up at her with big blue eyes.
