It’s hard not to fall in love with New York. I prefer the smaller town feel of New Haven over it, but even I can admit the city has a level of appeal that really can’t be beat.

I’ll admit that I do miss the slightly slower pace in Chicago and even back home in Ohio but I’ve have to agree with you, Quinn. There’s something about New York that makes me glad I transferred over and it’s not just the amazing pizza.

I’d say making it through an entire visit without any kind of complaints is always considered a success. Does she enjoy New York or is it still something she’s not  fan of?

She’s quite used to the quiet place at home and I was pretty afraid that she might not enjoy the slightly more boisterous city but thankfully she left New York with nothing but smiles and a handful of shopping bags.

Yep, that was the case alright. Although she prefers her own home-cooked dinners, I think it’s safe to say she enjoyed some of the Chinese meals New York could offer. Now that you mentioned that, who would be grumpy with food?

Seeing her was something I would never thought I would be doing so soon but it was wonderful nevertheless. Took her to a couple of Chinese restaurants in between showing her around the city, hopefully my dad won’t freak out when he sees what my mom brought back with her.

My mom was in town last weekend and let’s just say that it went pretty smoothly considering the fact that I managed to spend some quality time without hearing her make a single statement about the noise in the city   —  I guess that’s a accomplishment in a sense?
