Bond, at his most raw & unfiltered, is a *gazes on his beloved (when they're not looking) with frightening intensity* kinda guy. he consciously tries to attenuate it so as to not scare ppl. which, in itself, is still an act of love. but it's also, in a way, like. not the whole of the core of him.

in a sort of unguarded moment, he is doing that with Q. Q happens to look around/look over, and catches his gaze, and Bond does that thing like when u accidentally make eye contact someone on public transit where you immediately flit your own gaze away lol. but. when he turns his gaze back. he sees that Q has NOT looked away. and is in fact looking unflinchingly back, matching intensity for intensity straight into what feels like the depths of what's left of his beleaguered soul.

words cannot even begin to describe the sheer depth of emotion that sweeps thru, overcomes every single fiber of his being right then

New Sherlock Holmes adaptation idea: Watsondoes a voiceover narration of the story and it frequently contradicts what’s happening onscreen. Sometimes it’s literally just blatant lies. Watson also frequently looks into the camera like he’s on the office. It’s set in the original Victorian era so this should not be possible. He’s the only character who does this.
