A/N: I changed the storyline like five times, so I hope this one’s ok….

The tv was quiet in the background, a low static sounding in a completely empty room. Curly sat in the kitchen, eating alone at the old dinner table. No noise was made besides his quiet chewing.

At this point in time, Curly was observing his surroundings. He often did this when he was alone. Whether it was a matter of curiosity or paranoia, though, he couldn’t tell you. Sometimes, Curly could look around a room, observing like he’d never been there before.

His chewing stopped as he heard the annoying hum from the icebox. It seemed to get louder and then stayed constant. He went over to it, remembering the broken handle it possessed. That’s what kept the buzz the same. He pushed the door shut hard, only for the humming to crescendo in sound again. He glared, sitting back in his chair.

He continued to scan the room, but this time, his eyes stopped on the clock. It read 12:54. Past midnight? He thought, shaking his head. He could’ve swore it was 10:42.

The wondering broke with a knock at the door. He stood up, getting slightly dizzy at the quickness. When he pulled the door open, his eyes went wide at the sight of you. “Y/n?” He said softly. “What’re you doing here?”

“I couldn’t sleep…”

The cool, night air suddenly brushed against Curly’s cheek. That’s when he pulled you into the house and grabbed the light blanket that laid on top of the couch. “You can’t sleep?” He questions, wrapping the cover around you and closing the front door, his eyes filling with an uneasiness.

“I mean, I tried, but then I… kinda wanted to cuddle.”

The look in his eyes changed and he seemed to be holding back a smile. “You knocked on my door at 1 in the morning to cuddle?”

“Yeah.” You shrugged. “I missed you.”

He crossed his arms and sighed, the smile breaking out on his face. He motioned down the hall. “After you.”

You grinned, walking ahead of him to his room.
