You walk in a pub and ✨them ✨
For a glimpse Ed checks the door just to see who enters. His hand resting on his co-captains arm as he continues with on of his colourful stories, cheeks glowing from a bit too much wine.

love david jenkins for creating/writing ofmd, but he's not the only writer so let's start giving correct credit! these are the writers of some of your favorite moments:
episodes 1, 2, and 10 were written by david jenkins
episode 3 was written by adam stein
episode 4 was written by eliza jiménez cossio
episode 5 was written by john mahone
episode 6 was written by simone nathan
episode 7 was written by zayre ferrer
episode 8 was written by spouses alyssa lane and alex sherman
episode 9 was cowritten by david jenkins and yvonne zima (who also happened to act in episode 5 as a french woman)
other people david jenkins credits as being in the writers room are zackery alexzander stephens, maddie dai, william meny, jes tom, and natalie torres (who apparently was/is on tumblr)
the 3 non-binary people in the writers room were jes tom, natalie torres, and i believe zayre ferrer (who doesn't have a twitter which is why i think david keeps tagging zayre's sister zadry instead. zadry has mentioned it's zayre who writes for ofmd)
a talented bunch!

How old were you at the lowest point in your life? Reblog this and put it in the tags, plus your current age maybe. I'm trying to see something.
#started at 12#i was honestly so confused by it#but my lowest was at 15#I’m 25 now#it’s been a lil rollercoaster#and it’s not amazing right now#but it’s improving again at least

actually @ every fanfiction writer whether you wrote something that got thousands of reblogs and comments and became a staple in your fandom, or you wrote one fic and deleted it, or you write mutilchaptered fics that never get a final update, or write short fics, or long fics, or used to write and now you don’t, or you deleted/orphaned your works, or you only share with friends:
thank you.
sharing your writing is hard. and sometimes it’s thankless. sometimes it’s such a negative experience that I wonder how anyone does it at all. but you are needed; you are wanted. whether or not we properly acknowledge it, you are a vital part of fandom culture. thanks for sharing.

Putting it simply, I am obsessed with the inherent, endearing patheticness of Stede Bonnet. I love that disaster follows him, I love that he runs head-first into bullshit yet has the balls to act shocked when he ends up in ridiculous scenarios. I am utterly entranced by how in spite of the loveless life he endured for decades, he remains enthralled by trinkets and stories and the simple act of having hope. That he has the ridiculous confidence to walk into Spanish Jackie's wearing a flamboyant, crisp white outfit (introduced via an equally flamboyant, near painful rhyme) yet lacks the confidence to believe that he could ever be loved, love others, or simply inspire happiness. I love the fact that while running away to be a pirate was his bid at a new beginning- his obscure dream- he wanted it to be a safe space for his crew, too. How ridiculous to apply those bizarre, novel concepts of pirating to a crew who just wanted to pillage and slay- to combine their wishes with his stubborn belief that pirating doesn't have to be an abusive, loveless space. I find such amazement in his ridiculous tale of misguided actions and misplaced hope. The simple joy in the exhaustive journey of living authentically.
