Author of the comic Neko's House a couple of months ago, he found This comic which had...recolors of a couple of his characters' sprites. Apparantly, someone else made the sprites used here, using the sprites he uses in his comic, which is 403 FORBIDDEN.

I used to talk with her at a regular basis and she menctioned that she stopped working on Stage Select years ago after losing interest on it and the community, In other words, tough cookies, it's gone for good.

I recall a hand-drawn Mega Man comic called "Stage Select: When Masters Attack". It wasn't hosted on the Bob and George site or anything, but it must've still been about 2006/7 when it started up, because the author felt compelled to make a strip about why hand-drawn stuff gave a creator more options that stolen sprites.

Because apparently people were THAT fucking dense.

Sadly, that comic "retired" because the author kept on having breakdowns or whatever. It was decent enough, but I'm glad we're finally - FINALLY - moving out of the era of "This webcomic is just me making licensed characters act silly".

And now her site is changed to some portfolio thing. But WaybackMachine (or whatever that archive is called) has most of strips. Enter at your own risk, your eyes can melt.

Back then you could see a lot of people using troll logic to "prove" they were real artists if they used recolored sprites and anyone who disagreed with them was automatically a nazi, elitist, furry, homosexual, what have you bully.

They also kept making forum polls and discussions about how sprite theft was not evil and how their victims should feel honoured.

Yeah, that place was full to the brim with autistic manchildren. In fact, you still can see a few of them visiting the board and constantly begging for new content.

Saturation and shading style have nothing to do with eachother. Saturation applies to color choice, not the placement of said colour.

And to top it off, your sprites' skintones are all saturated to the max. Said "hyper saturation" comes merely from increasing contrast on your own colours. Which only look different because they're like uber bright and lacking in contrast alltogether.

Saturation can easily be decreased, colours can easily be altered. Shading not so much. And shading is vital. And thusfar, your lightsource placement is off, clear as day, regardless of any colour choices.

I still don't want to use your shading style, for the above reasons posted. (Check my comments regarding the 2 examples you already posted in this thread to remember why.)

While I agree with the lightsource problem comments, I must ask you to act rationally and stop being the Sytel of the Spriting section, please.

Zan is acting rationally, he disagrees with your statement and gave an explanation, which is perfectly valid. Contrast and saturation are two different things. High contrast shading doesn't necessarily look saturated, and saturated colors don't necessarily have high contrast. He is correct in saying your sprites are highly saturated. What you're trying to avoid is increasing contrast with saturated colors, and you can easily solve that problem by reducing the saturation as you increase the contrast.

If you still refuse to do so, it's your choice, but it still doesn't make Zan incorrect and you haven't said anything to prove otherwise. You're simply dismissing his advice on the matter by accusing him of not being rational, which is an extremely rude attitude from your part.

I'm working on that, being Maneko's host and all. I'm pretty sure it's just a DNS issue; the directory paths had to be changed in the last few days, and the domain is still pointing at the old folders. Hopefully it'll resolve itself soon.

So, which Felicia sprite did you take the colours from? You can't just take colours from different sprite styles like that. Especially since fighters tend to use large single colour areas with a single large area of heavy contrasted shading and soft intermediate shades. Using those intermediate shades in a sprite like this causes low contrast.

In general, fighters tend to use more of an anime style due to their increased size.

Her comic was basically a sprite version of Sonichu, as I found out years after her banning that IRL chickBot was fat, ugly, old, poor and batshit crazy unlike the embellished life she made for herself in her comic.

Were you expecting something different? These guys used their sprite comics as escapist wish-fulfillment stuff, not because they had a story they wanted to tell.

She got them from one of the "cool" guys and threw some hysterical tantrums every time she was reminded the best part of her comic wasn't even made by her.

When her pretended boyfriend broke with her, Chickbot killed him in the comic, retconned things to make him stupid and worthless and made herself the most important character in the comic, she was better than BitchBot and EmeraldMan combined!

She also drew art for one of the Cataclysm moves and threw yet another tantrum after people complained for the massive drop of quality compared with the first movie and Suraida's incredible art.

No wonder Liss ended up firing her sorry ass and banning her fat cunt for life, both from the board and from the chatroom.

Her Deviantart was full of furry art and torture porn.
