But if it was true, wouldn't they have, like ... Closed it off or something? I mean you can call it a superstition but how many people want to live in a house where so many people have died? You'd think the market would have died out ages ago ...

Yep. And that’s not even half of it.

I think it’s all true. I saw a ghost once when I snuck in. Nice kid.

Sounds good to me.

How about the basement? It’s nice and dark down there… I mean, mysterious… Not many people get the privilege of seeing it.

It's like they took every bad scary story you heard as a kid and put them al in one house. Jesus.

Is any of it true? I mean, I guess you wouldn't know for a fact, but ...
Oh yeah, it’s fucked up. I’d check the basement if you’re that curious, but be careful. He supposedly killed a couple of kids years back when they snuck into the house.

Anyways, after the Montgomery’s, there were a couple random deaths, including Elizabeth Short, if you’ve even heard of her. Got killed in the house and then chopped up and shit. Really well known death. Then the Baxters, although I can’t remember what their story is. They died though, that’s all I know.

Whatever works for you, I guess. You did say you know all the secret places ...

Oh, the floors can wait… Where would you like to start?

... Shit, that's kinda sick. Frankenstein's baby? Now that's something I'll have to see ...

You’re like, really great at making decisions, y’know?

Right. Story time, then, I guess. So Nora and Charles Montgomery. Charles built this house for his wife, to her exact liking, which is fucking nuts, but that’s beyond the point. They started an illegal abortion business, and one girl’s boyfriend found out she had an abortion, got all pissy and kidnapped the Montgomery’s baby. Next thing they knew, they got their baby back in pieces all put into jars. So, being the loon bin that he was, Charles sewed the baby back together and brought it back to life. Except it was totally fucked up and not human anymore, I guess, so Nora tried to kill it before killing Charles and herself. Supposedly, the weird monster-baby thing is still lurking around in the basement, and Charles and Nora have haunted the house ever since.

Start at the beginning, I guess?

Right, that’s helpful.

Well, there’s the couple who made the house, or the family that died here like… 17 years ago or something, or the various others who thought it was smart to stumble into the house. Pick one to start.

Whatever suits you, I'm all ears.

Oh, if only I knew where to start.

Do you like newer stories or older?

'Fraid not, only been in town a few days, but I'm not unwilling to listen if that's an offer ...

Oh, you’re one of those people, huh?

Have you heard the stories, then?

Really? I think it makes them so much cooler.

Ghosts. Kinda lessens how nice a house is, I think.

Yeah? I mean, if you have the time. You looked a bit ... busy there.
I could always give you a tour, I mean, I know about all the little places no one else does.

Sorry, I thought this might've been one of those haunted house tour things, thought I'd come check it out ...

Oh, hello there

Is it shitty on the inside, then, or do you just have high expectations of houses?

It’s pretty to look at, sure, but that’s about it.

I like it. Don't see much of that architecture anymore, not here anyways.
Oh, I wish this house would knocked to the ground and destroyed. Unfortunately, the “new age” isn’t doing it’s part too well there.

Lost interest in old houses, I imagine? That's the thing about the new age, they destroy and rebuild ...

Why the Hell is this house so dead lately?

That's what they said about cigarettes ... But I won't argue.

There are worse things out there, that loads of people drink. Energy drinks aren’t that bad.
